How do I get to Singapore by KL by bus?

Q. Going to Kota Kinabalu, and going to KL...but how do I get from KL to Singapore. My aunt in Singapore told me the bus is the cheapest & fastest. I need more info!
I'm going to Kota Kinabalu on June and we're also going to KL but also planning to Singapore. Cheapest way to get to KL from Kota Kinabalu? Singapore from KL? Travel time? Fastest? People please give me details. Thanks

Answer
bus from KL (Puduraya Bus Terminal) to Singapore is defintely the cheapest but not the fastest, journey takes about 5 hours, if traffic is smooth. The fastest way is to drive car, takes about 3 hours to reach Singapore.

the only way to Kota Kinabalu is by plane, so maybe you can try air asia from KL. hope this helps, cheers

Travel Malaysia, Bangkok,Singapore with wife?

akmmorshed

I want to travel Bangkok & Singapore from Malaysia by rail with my wife. Can anybody tell me the fastest train from Malaysia to Bangkok and Singapore with fare, route and time please? I would appreciate if some one can tell me about the budget hotels near city center of Malaysia, Bangkok & Singapore with fare, if possible, place of visit of Malaysia, Bangkok, Singapore with reasons.

Answer
I have taken the train from Bangkok to Singapore through Malaysia. So I know there are trains going in the other direction. The ride is long and slow! No bullet speed trains! You get what you get! You may be able to upgrade to First Class or even a sleeper car (especially the Thai part of the ride.) But you are in for a long ride!

Possible layover spots are in Kuala Lumpur, Butterworth-Penang, Hat Yai Thailand. I think I did the run for under $100 US, including one cheap hotel in Butterworth. I used First Class from Butterworth to Singapore. For sleeper cars in Thailand get the request in early. (Three different currencies including your own.)

Seat 61 has some good information on this rail system. Plus just use Google and you will be surprised with how much info you can get.

Good luck.

For your info, identfiy your nationality and visit http://app.ica.gov.sg/travellers/entry to see if you're required to apply a Visa.

To check out everything, pls visit http://app.ica.gov.sg for more details. Then select Travellers' Info Guide*, follow by Entry Requirements and Visa Requirements to see the necessary info.

* Things to NOTE:
All travellers are required to go through immigration clearance on arrival into Singapore.

All visitors on social visit passes are not permitted to engage in any form of business, profession, occupation or paid employment while in Singapore.

Visitors are also reminded that it is a punishable offence to overstay in Singapore beyond the number of days given. If there is a need to stay beyond the period granted, visitors may apply for an extension of stay online via "e-XTEND" or at the Visitors Services Centre, 4th storey, ICA Building, before the social visit pass expires. Answer
G'day,

I used to be an international student in Australia. I will try to give you some info abt Australia.

From the 5 countries you mentioned, Singapore is most likely have the lowest cost of living, and probably the lowest tuition fee as well due to currency exchange, but not much different with Australia. In Australia On top of tuition fees, you will need to pay for campus fee (vary from each uni) and Overseas Student Health Cover (abt AUD$350/yr) and text books (abt AUD$200). These are the rough estimate of the fees for your study.

Before coming to Australia, you will need to pay the fee for student visa processing and health check-up. You may also be required to take an IELTS test for indication of your English proficiency (depending which country you come from) for application to uni and for visa. For Bachelor degree, you'll need the academic IELTS results with overall 6.0, and no individual marks less than 6.0.

There are only 42 (soon to be 43) universities in Australia, all of them are fully accredited and they are tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The most important thing is you have to READ the course information carefully, since some courses may have the same name but different content.

To find out the course that you are taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to Dept of Education, Science and Tech (http://cricos.dest.gov.au) and IDP Education Australia website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives information to international students who wants to continue their study in Australia. The info abt requirements and fees are available from the uni's website. Please make sure that you are reading the information for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification. It may take abt 2-3weeks to process, depending on the time of the year.

Just as general info, I put a link from a university in Melbourne abt requirements from India & other countries: http://www.deakin.edu.au/international/p...

I'm living in Melbourne and this is what you're going to find in Melbourne:
1. First of all... some people do not like the weather in Melbourne (you can have 4 seasons in one day). However, if you read the second weblink from The Age newspaper, you will find out that the weather is still more preferable than the other cities. Sure you can have 42C day in summer, but almost immediately you'll get a much cooler weather pretty soon afterwards. It is very rarely that you got 2 or 3 consecutive days of hot weathers (unlike Sydney, Brisbane or Perth).
2. Melbourne is a city of diversity. If you are a newcomer, and you do not look 'Anglo-Saxon', you do not feel like an 'alien', since you can find almost every race in the world walking in the city. They are both immigrants and overseas students.
3. THE FOOD!! Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Thai, All-you-can-eat, African, Lebanese, Mexican, Sea Food... anything else? All available and lots of them in a very-very-very affordable price
4. Pretty good public transport system. With one ticket, you can switch from train, tram and bus. They do not always come on-time, but still reliable and improving (www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au). Good for students, since not all can afford car.
5. SHOPPING!!! Original branded clothing sold very cheap. There are even shopping tour, where the participants are taken to retails outlets just for shopping. Big temptations for ladies.
6. Crime rates... just read the third article on the bottom.
7. Night Life... hmmmm... I'll say the centre of nite activities will be Crown Casino and Docklands. Altho there are still plenty of cafe's and clubs scattered around the suburbs as well.
8. Tourist attraction. This is the area that I think Sydney is better than Melbourne, since it has most of it's attraction within its suburbs. Most Melbourne attraction are pretty much out of Melbourne, such as the gold mines in the cities of Bendigo and Ballarat, The Great Ocean Road, Lakes Entrance, Grampians, skiing in Mt. Buller etc.

Hope this helps. I know u dun want links, but these are the ones that will help you with your search and information gatherings. Good luck on your studies :)

What should I do when someone continuously tries to buy stuff from my website with a stolen credit card?

Bob7080

I own an optical online store and for the past few weeks, someone has been trying to buy a pair of glasses with a stolen credit card. What should I do and how do I prevent this from happening again?
Also, will this bring a disadvantage to my site? For example, will my site be shut down because there are so many credit card frauds occurring? Thank you.

Answer
I have the same problem and have become very good at spotting a crook very fast. Nothing you can really do. I respond by email that I'm not interested. I have gone so far as to email them that I have turned their information over to the US Justice Dept, Homeland Security and the FBI just to jack with them.

Banks could not care any less in the contact info on the crook. I know call the person who actually ownes the card and inform them of it and forward all the emails to them with hopes that they can get their banker involved.

Very sad, but the banks just don't care, the police are too busy writing tickets for illegally parked cars and not wearing your seat belt.

I have played the game out and asked for further ship to info. On one occasion I told them their merchandise was ready to ship to Singapore, but it would have to be UPS Collect on the freight charge. I sent a box with a squirt gun - 2 dollar value, when they ordered a 800.00 paint gun. Freight collect was for 89.00. I am still laughing at that one and never heard back from them.
