about how much would it cost for a 16 year old boy in california todrive a 2004 silverado access cab? please give me a quote and not a website.
i know it will be exspensive but we got a 2004 v6 mustang quoted and it was of a price we could afford so i was trying to see if this would be more or less.
okay let me refine my question. woulde a 2004 mustang v6 cost more then a 2004 5.3 litre v8 silverado.(access cab)

No 16 year old is exactly the same risk... No vehicle is the same engine sizes specs..... 2004 is a year a quick search shows there are more than one engine size available....
You cannot get a quote from just that info provided and any company that gives you a price is over quoting because they do not want the business.

Looks like you need to do some research yourself with all of the information.....
Thats going to mean going to websites which you have already dismissed ;)

ADD: This is fr the page on titling a new car: "You can apply for a Maryland title, and registration, in person at any of the MVA's full service branch offices. You also can mail the documents to the MVAâs Out-of-State Title Unit, 6601 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD 21062, or go to an MVA licensed tag and title service where they will assist you in applying." You need to check the second link below for full instructions. Obviously you only have 3 choices so you'll have to pick the one that's least inconvenient. Best wishes.


Is this for renewing a registration? I just renewed my husbands car on line, my Mother-in-law's as well. I went to the DMV in Annapolis for mine. They don't do renewals in person at all anymore. They have a kiosk w touch screen for you to do it---self service. Have your credit card & if you forget your paperwork that came in the mail like I did you can get all the required info from your registration (the one usually kept in the glove box).

How do I sell a Calfornia registered car in Texas?

So the car is new, and paid off. I am the titleholder and there is no lien. I appreciate any information!

The title has to be signed off according to California law. Then the car would be re-registered in Texas by the new owner.
This is from the California state site:
When selling a California registered vehicle, the registered owner of record must:
⢠Release ownership by signing on line one of the title.
If the vehicle is, or was financed, the lienholderâs name appears in the legal owner section and their release with counter signature is required on line two.
⢠Provide the purchaser with evidence of a valid smog certification, if applicable.
Smog certificates are good for 90 days from the date of inspection. The smog certification is not required if the owner or buyer signs a statement that smog certification was submitted with renewal fees within 90 days prior to the transfer date (a vehicle inspection report may be required for proof of certification).

Recent legislation changed the requirements for vehicle transfers occurring on or after January 1, 2005. When you transfer a vehicle that is four or less model years old a smog certification will not be required. The four or less model years old rule does not apply to diesel powered vehicles. A smog transfer fee will be collected from the new owner. When a vehicle is more than four model years old, evidence of a current smog certification must be provided by a seller except when the following occurs: ⦠The transfer occurs between a spouse, domestic partner, sibling, child, parent, grandparent, or grandchild.
⦠A biennial smog certification was submitted to DMV within 90 days prior to the vehicle transfer date (a vehicle inspection report may be required for proof of certification).

⢠Provide the odometer mileage if the vehicle is less than 10 years old (Vehicle/Vessel Transfer and Reassignment Form, REG 262). If the title does not have a designated space for this information, a REG 262 reporting the odometer mileage must be signed by both the seller and buyer. The REG 262 cannot be copied. To speak to an operator call between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday - Friday, Pacific Standard Time, or pick one up from your local DMV.
â¢Protect Your Liability. Complete a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability. The seller is responsible for reporting the change of ownership to DMV within 5 days from the date of sale. After DMV updates the information from the Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability, you will be cleared from future liability on the vehicle. The purchaser is responsible for reporting the change of ownership to DMV within 10 days from the date of purchase.

I am asking this question for my uncle. I don't drive yet so I don't know the answer! I went on the Mass RMV site and didn't see any info on transferring plates. maybe it was on there but I didn't see it. lol

Go to the nearest Insurance broker so that they can fill out the RMV1. Transferring plates goes for approximately 15.00 plus any weight difference. For instance if the new vehicle weights less then the weight of the old car you only pay the transfer fee. If It weights more then It is approximately $1.60 per 100 lbs difference in the weight. If the old car weights 2400 lbs and the new car weight 3100 that equals 700 lbs so@ $1.60 per 100 lbs that is a grand total of $11.20 + 15.00=26.20 plus any tax title and local fee. The broker (your uncle has to have gotten the Insurance somewhere.) In Mass Is the only place to get a reg form. Not at the DMV.

How do I get a new radio code for my Renault Clio?

My battery went flat, and now I need a new radio code to listen to music in my car. So, who do I need to contact to retrieve one?

Get the service book for your car (the one that gets stamped when you have a service). On the first page is a load of info such as reg number, chassis number, date of registration. About the last thing on the list is radio code. If it is missing or wrong COMPLAIN to the main dealer who originally sold the car as new. REFUSE to pay the charge they want.
If you have no service book you may have to pay £10 to the Renault daeler,- but make sure you get the number incase history repeats itself.

How many valves does my car engine have?

Hey, might be a quick question for niche brains... but mechanics IS NOT my strong point.

My car is: X Reg (2000) Volkswagen Polo, 1.4litre. What I want to know is how many valves? Just so I can buy the chrome decal thing for the back of the car (16V) etc... Do you need more info?

You have a 16 valve (4 per 4 cyl)
Above answer is wrong. Yes you have an I-4 engine, but the engine is a 16V SOHC. But it might be a 8-valve if you have the baseline motor.

That is if you have a 2000 model year manufactured in 2000 or 1999 and the engine code is AFH. On the valve cover there will be all the information you need. If you have the base line engine it will probably have no cast-in (molded/rasied) lettering. If you have the hi-line engine it will say 16V, or 100PS, or AFH, or 16-valve SOHC.

That I am aware of the only Polo available with a DOHC was the 1.6L that shipped in European GTI models only.

**Chevy man: The Corvette C4 ZR1 (90-95) had a LT5 SOHC motor. The LT5 was recycled into the Northstar Cadillac engines L37 and L8 which usually have "Cadillac", "Northstar" and "SOHC 32V" or "DOHC 32v" on the intake covers
