I keep hearing on the news about GM closing dealerships and selling off lagging brands and Chrysler going bankrupt but I never hear anything about Ford? Whats going on with them? I know they sold off the lagging brands a few years ago (Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover) and they just launched a new truck which seems to be doing real good. I'm basically asking how is Ford doing compared to other 2 domestic auto makers?

News companies want the biggest stories and want to be the first to cover them, and frankly GM and Chrysler have had more "exciting" news to talk about. Ford never took money in the first place, still is not asking for money, and still is a ways away from potentially asking for money. All of these mean that Ford is a boring company in terms of the news, which it's hard to argue that that's a bad thing right now.
The refreshed F-150 has been selling well, as well as the refreshed Fusion. Ford also has a new Mustang which should be showing up to dealerships very very soon, and there's a completely redesigned Taurus that is on track to arrive around July. Ford is bringing out new cars that people want instead of scrapping the ideas to save some short term cash. It seems to be working, too. By summer depending on how the economy turns out and what GM eventually goes through, it will be interesting to see how much Ford's sales and overall image improve.
