i lost the original key and the key-less entry remote with it. all i have left is my spare key. if i use the key to unlock a door, the car alarm will go off, right? can i silence the alarm once i get in? how? my father CANNOT know that i lost the original key and the remote, so i need to know a way to use my car without the alarm ringing every time i open the door. or at least SILENCE THE ALARM IMMEDIATELY WHEN I GET IN THE CAR.

Well sorry to break the news to you, but you eventually will have to tell your dad. If its a programed key and the spare that you have is the valet key, it will not start your car, but if you are opening the door with the key its self, your alarm shouldnt be going off. On my old maxima, i just had to insert the key into the dirverside door and that would disable my alarm. Another thing you could do is go to your local lowes, walmart, home depot and have them make you another key, one that will be programmed to your car, but it will cost you at least $50. Hope that helps. You need to fess up to your dad though

These are great! Did I tell you about that elderly woman who was very independent, took care of herself, took classes to get a gun-carrying license? She came out of a store and 4 young men were stealing her car, so she pointed her gun at them and shouted, "GET OUT OF THE CAR NOW!!!" They left, she got in the car, and THEN realized - it wasn't her car! She reported herself at the local police station, where 4 young men were at the counter reporting, "No kidding! A grandma!!! She just hijacked our car with a GUN!!!"

Don't consider me some anti-unionist, I've been a union member for over three decades.
But, in my opinion, there is a certain reality here that seems to escape the UAW leaders.

I don't think he has a clue. On one hand, yes, sales are being affected by the current economic climate but on the other hand, General Motors' market share has dropped 20 points over the last 30 years. I can't speak much for Ford and Chrysler but in GM's case, they became less focused on automobile manufacturing and diversified their business by purchasing companies like Hughes and Electronic Data Systems and later buy purchasing higher end European brands such as Lotus and Saab. They also spent a lot of dollars launching Saturn under the disastrous leadership of Roger Smith. Smith also reorganized GM's 5 brands (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac) into 2 divisions; Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada and Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac. Prior to this new lineup, the 5 brands were targeted to varying economic market segments with Chevrolet being at the low end and Cadillac being at the top. That all changed.

A great book that came out 20 years ago is "CALL ME ROGER: THE STORY OF HOW ROGER SMITH CHAIRMAN OF GENERAL MOTORS, TRANSFORMED THE INDUSTRY LEADER INTO A FALLEN GIANT". It talks about how Roger Smith was the first CEO of GM that wasn't a car guy, meaning had a background in engineering. He was an accountant, a bean counter. His focus was purely on increasing shareholder value and not on making great cars. A funny story talks about a Ford commercial that had aired in which a couple is waiting for a valet to bring them their car. The valet brings 2 or 3 different vehicles before he gets the right one. The point was that GM's brands had lost their identity and all looked the same.

Sorry for being so long about this but I'm close to the situation with my dad being a GM retiree. What are they gonna do, take away a 78 year old man's health care benefits and pension that their obligated to provide under contract? They knew they had these obligations but yet have hardly funded them. They've run their business into the ground people aren't buying their cars and the bill is due.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect UAW members to have to pick up part of the costs for health care and retirement if they haven't already.

The club's in the Mid-City area, which has a high population of African-Americans. Doesn't matter what the neighborhood's like if the people inside are funny. However, it's not funny if you come out and your car is gone. Definitely use the Valet.

I went to a Radio Broadcasting school, and graduated a year later, with my FCC license!! My first job, I was a sound engineer, in a recording studio, in Newport Beach, California!! I also modeled clothing for Bullocks Wilshire!! I went on to acting classes, at MGM Studios in Hollywood, and then I dealt Blackjack in Las Vegas, and Valet parked cars at a small club on the strip, which was a very good job, I made about $350.00 a night in tips, almost as good as dealing cards!! These are just a few things I did, after I graduated from High School~~~ Good luck to you, I hope some day, I can turn on the TV, and see you on the News, as a news anchor!!
