Chinese VS. Indian cars?

Partial Di

I am biased towards Indian cars.cause I am Indian, but I think they are better.

Why?

Because they have better crash safety, even the tiny Tata Nano is better than a Chinese coupe or smalls sedan in terms of front and rear impact.

Indian cars usualyl have more powerful power plants.

More reliability, if you know Mahindra and TATA, they will go on forever.

They actually have nice diesel engines, and have better engine tech because they have bought many "powerful" western engine making companies and have ventures with Japanese companies like Honda and Suzuki.

Interior of Indian cars is......bad, worse than Chinese cars. But, other than that, I see no other faults.

But what do you guys think?

(Please no uneducated folk who think of India as a cow herding country just because it hasn't been in the news as much as China; stop looking at info from the 70's or 80's.)

Answer
Chinese cars suck, which is why GM is taking over the market in China.
Indian cars not equipped with the appropriate features for the American market. Not only that, since India likes to hope on the train with the best opportunities, like the relationship between India and Russia during the Cold War, even with the appropriate modifications you'll not going to see those cars in the USA.

Even if such vehicles are allowed inside, I really doubt they would sale. Ask KIA how hard it was to get into the American market versus Japanese vehicles, European vehicles, Ford, GM, Daimwhatever, etc. Shoot, why do you not ask an more harder question like this.
Hell, Indian cars will not even sale in California which has an extremely strong car culture, possibly the most out of all the States. Car sales here are the highest in the USA and there's no adequate public transportation in So.Cal. Taxis are hell a lot expensive compared to NY. The MetroLink train that runs on very specific and few "Lines" charges 56.2 cents a mile. =/ It takes me over 15 dollars from Fontana to LA Union Station. It takes me less than 3 dollars to drive there on the 210, safer and faster as well, That shows you how much car industry's lobbyist hinder Public Transportation efforts.

Also, many States are adapting much of Californian emission laws which are the toughest in the USA.

Which car is better, Indian or Brazilian.

Also, diesel engines will not sale well in the USA because it's very inconvenient. Take Peugot, or w/e it's called, they did not survive the American market.

Here are some reasons for the car diesel disadvantages.

1-Diesel engines are dirty and do not meet Federal standards, let alone many States because of all the MPG legislation and stronger emission rates in the US.
2-I only see diesel pumps in very random and few places here in So.Cal.
3- Diesel is more expensive than 87 octane here in So.Cal
4-Diesel engines will have to be nerfed in power and torque to be fuel efficient and better emissions.
5-Diesel technology is expensive, therefore diesel engines are also. I read this article in Car and Drive about reintroducing diesel engines to the American market. The specs for the vehicle were weak and the cost high. =(

Also, you see our big rigs use diesel and also a very few amount of big cab trucks because diesel gives more torque than power. The major problem about these "work horses" is because.....

Department of Motor Vehicles charge more money because it's a work-vehicle if powered by diesel and it's a truck, in California the registration is higher regardless if it's diesel or not so long the truck is listed as work-vehicle. =(

Conclusion.

Though Indian vehicles are better than Chinese, it'l never survive the Western market for long without a lot of costly changes, even if India's economy has "cheaper" labor than USA the American car buyers still will not purchase the car if not assembled in USA and will never buy a Chinese car. LMFAO. Do you see the products they make? They hardly last long and just bad. That's just another story.

Sorry for long story but to compare to countries products than you'll have to compare them to the leading country's industry before assessing. By comparison, India vehicles are better constructed, less pollutant, a bit better mileage, but will all become obsolete soon and big waste for designing diesel engines since they'll never be efficient. =(

My mom has to get a new car, but it is a little unexpected.
She won't drive a chevy, dodge, or ford.
She doesn't want a truck.
She would like the vehicle to be about $20,000 or less, but it is okay to go a little over.
The year doesn't matter.
New or used doesn't matter.
She wants it to get about 30 mph highway.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance! (:

Answer
A LITLE more info would help, such as big, small, four door or two.
20K can buy a lot of things. If she wants to go for something larger, I would check out Kia Optima, or Hyundai Sonata. Consumer reports rates both very highly. They share engines and I believe transmissions, both get class-leading mileage; I prefer the Optima because I think it looks like a Jag.
You can't go wrong with a Camry or an Accord, but they are a tad boring, and may be closer to 25K now.
If she wants a 4 door that's a little smaller, but still somewhat sporty, the Suzuki Kizashi is getting very good reviews and is supposed to be a lot of fun to drive. The 2 door vernon is the Koupe, also a decent car.
If she wants to go small with 4 doors, Hyndai Elentra, Civic, Corolla, Mazda 3 and Subaru Impreza are all reliable, and get decent mileage. If she lie the Impreza (which has all wheel drive, great for snow), or the Mazda 3, then make sure it's a 2012, as they just changed the engines and transmissions, greatly increasing the mileage.
IF she wants sporty, go used; an Accord coupe with a 6 cylinder is a nice option, 2006-2007 models get about 29 all the time, 33 on the highway. The newer ones have larger engines, and don't' get as good mileage. Unless you get a 4 cylinder, not as much fun, though.
I hope that helps.

I have a1995 Kia Sportage won't start is a manual transmission what can be wrong with it?

I done oil change regularly... Just had spark plugs and Fuel Filter change... When I try to start it it just won't.. It tries but it won't I has lost power, is leaking a bit of oil... The check engine light came on. Not sure can it be the gas pump of a head gasket... I not sure what it can be... Should I just get rid of the car? PLease if anyone knows anything give me some tips...
It also has a new battery...

Answer
What is the mileage on the car and has it been maintained regularly, not just oil changes but other required services? First, engine oil is a lubricant it lubes the engine while it runs so it rarely has anything to do with starting issues unless it was allowed to run with little or no oil for any extended period. If that occurred, there could be major engine damage that might affect starting. Assuming that isn't your problem since you said you have done oil changes there's so many possibilities its impossible to cover everything without more info. You have to have three things for an engine to run fuel, air, and spark so we need to know which of these are present and which ones aren't. Give us that and we can make some educated guesses.

How to fix my steering wheel on my car?

kia car info on New Latest Info On Sportage 2014 Release and Price on prices-cars.com ...

I have a 2007 Kia Optima and none of the buttons on my steering wheel work. The horn, the cruise control, the music controls, and the airbag, none of them work I was wondering where to start looking for the problem. I have tried to find a fuse with no such luck.

Answer
there is a switch located in the steering column behind the steering wheel that controls everything that you just mentioned. It is called a clockspring, and in order to replace it you will need to remove the steering wheel, disconnect the airbag then you will see it,because that is what operates the airbag, horn, cruise, and radio.I just did one on a dodge dakota that had the same problem. If you decide to do it please do not forget to disconnect the battery cables and let the car set for like 20 or 30 minuets so that all the current from the airbag memory will go away, that way it wont deactivate on ya. You can get all the info.on this by googling it,just type in the tool bar ,,,,how to replace a clockspring on a 2007 kia optima, and it will take you to a lot of pages and just scroll down to any of them. Please let me know if this info helped ya out.,,,,,,,,

My car's air conditioning and windows dont work, why?

Janet S

I have a kia sportage and all of a sudden my windows and air do not work. I pulled the 30 amp fuse and replace it and still does not work. Anyone have some ideas? thanks

Answer
What do you mean by A/C doesn't work? The fan doesn't run?
Does the fan run but it won't blow cold air? Is the compressor running (spinning)?

Hard to tell what's wrong with that bit of info you gave.
