What happened on Young and the Restless and As the World Turns last week?

Q. I was in Quebec last week and didn't see it. I know that the previous friday David Chow was planning to kill Nikki and someone wanted to finish him and Nikki off and mistook Sebrina for Nikki, and that Sebrina died. I didn't see it yesterday either. Who's body did they find today?

All I know about last week on As the World Turns is that the two children got caught doing each other.

Y&R: Week of July 25th

Michael informs Victor that Nikki and David's limo was in an accident and Victor's first instinct is to be by Nikki's side. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Nikki comes into the hospital unconscious and Paul and J.T. stand by as the doctors work on her. At the gala, Phyllis and Nick get into another fight regarding Amber as Nick and Victoria get the news that Nikki has been rushed to the hospital. At the crash site, Sabrina lays inside the limo, lifeless. Michael and Victor arrive at the crash site. An officer tells them that David probably won't make it and the only woman in the crash was taken to the hospital. As Victor looks into the limo he remembers his life with Nikki, until he finds one of Sabrina's earrings. Later, Victor demands David tell him if Sabrina was in the car with him and with his last moment of life, David nods. As Nikki wakes up, Paul tells her that David drugged her and the reality of the situation hits Nikki hard. Moments later, Nick, Victoria and Phyllis arrive to see Nikki and are horrified to learn that David tried to kill Nikki. Daniel goes to the penthouse to find Amber packing. She tells him that she is moving back to Los Angeles. Daniel tells her that he plans to move to L.A. also. Daniel opens up to Amber but Phyllis interrupts them when she calls to tell Daniel about Nikki. Later, Daniel apologizes to Amber for everything Phyllis put her through while he was gone. He asks her not to move to Los Angeles because he would be lost if they never saw each other again. Nick, and Victoria rush into see Nikki and Paul tells them everything about David's past. He gets a call and informs Nikki that David was in an accident and that he died. Nikki asks her children to leave and once they are gone Paul tells her that Sabrina was in the car with David. J.T. tells Nick, Victoria and Phyllis that Sabrina was in the car with David and that she is in the I.C.U. Victoria tries to rush to find Sabrina and tell her that she was wrong about everything but J.T. stops her. Later, Paul tells Nikki not to worry about anything regarding David anymore; he will take care of it. While at Sabrina's side, Victor learns that Sabrina lost the baby. The doctor enters and informs Victor that Sabrina's liver was lacerated and she doesn't have much time to live. Victoria comes in to try and talk to Victor and Sabrina but in his pain he lashes out at her. Moments later, Sabrina wakes up. Nick advises Phyllis to work things out with Daniel, so that she doesn't end up with the same relationship that he has with Victor. Meanwhile, Amber asks Daniel what is going on between them. Later, Daniel tells Amber that he is home, if she wants him. Phyllis comes by to talk to Daniel but they refuse to answer the door for her. Victoria pleads with Nick to go support Victor in his time of need. Meanwhile, Sabrina realizes that she lost her baby and from Victor's voice can tell that she is dying. As Victor promises not to let her die, Nikki overhears their conversation.

Kay comes to offer Victor support and learns that Nikki was brought in on a drug overdose last night. Kay goes to get some answers as Nick comes to see Victor. In the E.R., Nikki learns that David tried to kill her using morphine and yet she is still devastated that she lost David. While Jill and Brad work on how to deal with the fall out of David's gambling problem being made public, the news comes on and they learn that David was killed. A paparazzi shows Jack photos of Sabrina being removed from the limo after the crash and offers to sell them to Jack for a high price. Outraged at first, Jack finally buys exclusive rights to the photos to keep them from being published elsewhere. Later, Jack tells Sharon that he feels responsible for what happened to Sabrina. Victoria and J.T. return to the hospital to pick up Nikki, just as the doctor is informing her and Paul that it was morphine in her toxicology report. In Victor's absence, Adam steps into his place at Newman Enterprises. Meanwhile, Victor tells Nick that he isn't wanted but Nick refuses to leave his father's side. Michael, meanwhile, tries to find a specialist for Sabrina's case. Later, Neil arrives and Michael tells both Nick and Neil that Sabrina was pregnant. Kay comes to Victoria and J.T.'s to see Nikki and learns that David tried to poison Nikki. Paul comes in and informs them that a vial of liquid morphine was found on David's body. While hearing this news, Nikki is overcome with sadness. Moments later, as Paul, Nikki, J.T., Victoria, and Kay work out the events of the evening and learn that David killed Ji Min, Victoria realizes that if they had all made even one choice differently they could have prevented everything. Brad and Jill, still believe that Nikki is in I.C.U. and decide to hold a press conference to appoint an interim C.E.O. for Jabot. Later, Kay tells Nikki that someone leaked David's gambling problem to the press and that her future at Jabot is in serious jeopardy. Adam panics when he reads an article that Skye has been reported missing. Meanwhile, Victor asks Neil to take over for him at Newman Enterprises while he fights to save Sabrina. Later, Adam is surprised when Neil tells him that he will be taking over for Victor. Neil advises Adam to go to the hospital to be with his father. Jack and Sharon battle with whether or not to send out a fourth printing of the magazine. Sharon tells Jack that she is proud of him. Meanwhile, Sabrina tries to be strong for Victor but as they are talking about the future, Sabrina crashes. Later, Jack and Sharon green-light a fourth printing of the magazine. Brad is furious when Jill informs him that he will not be named C.E.O. of Jabot. Later, Jill holds a press conference to announce she is taking over Jabot. Victor is glad to see Adam at the hospital. While Victor and Michael consult with the liver specialist, Nick and Adam wait together. Later, Adam wonders why Nick is still here if Victor doesn't want him. Nick tells him that one day Victor will forgive him and then Nick will be there for him. Victoria and Nikki feel terrible when Kay tells them that Sabrina was pregnant. The specialist tells Michael that they won't give Sabrina a new liver because she won't survive long enough. Nick refuses to allow them to tell Victor because he has to hold on to hope.

Amber is overjoyed when she and Daniel wake up after having spent the night together but is crushed when she asks him about moving back in and Daniel tells her to slow down. Later, Daniel tells Amber he is trying to deal with her betrayal. Cane and Lily are talking about Chloe's stunt at the gala, saying that she is pregnant with Cane's child when they learn that David is dead and Sabrina is in the hospital. Meanwhile, Cane calls Kay to tell her that Jill gave a press conference and assumed control of Jabot. Later, Chloe photo-shops her first sonogram, changing the date. Paul learns that the car accident may not have been an accident after all. Later, Heather arrives at the crash site and Paul tells her that David killed Ji Min. Jeff and Gloria realize that, with the scandal, Jabot stock will plummet and they can buy it up much easier. Gloria decides that she needs to get on Brad's good side to get inside information on Jabot. Victoria continues to feel guilty about the way she treated Sabrina and she decides she has to see Sabrina before it's too late. Meanwhile, Nick tells Phyllis that they are staying on the ranch. Later, Victoria refuses to leave when Victor demands that she leave Sabrina's room. However, Sabrina wakes up and tells Victor that she wants to see Victoria. Chloe stops by with a birthday cake and Amber realizes that it is her birthday. Chloe tells Amber that she is pregnant with Cane's child. Later, Chloe suggests that Amber get pregnant to hold onto Daniel. Kay confronts Jill and Brad at Jabot but before they can get into anything Nikki arrives, showing Jill that she isn't going anywhere. Paul tells Heather everything he knows abut David and Walter and Heather recognizes Walter from the gala. Heather manages to I.D. the limo driver as the man Walter was talking to in the parking lot at the gala. At the hospital, Daniel talks to Nick about his problems with Amber. Meanwhile, Phyllis visits Amber at the penthouse and promises to stay out of her relationship with Daniel. Later, Nick advises Daniel to take some time alone, and figure out who he is. Sabrina and Victoria are overcome with emotion as they remember their past together and finally reconnect. Paul tells Nikki that he doesn't believe that the accident was an accident; that Walter had David murdered. Nikki tells him to continue his investigation but to not say anything to Victor. However, unwittingly, J.T. tells Victor that Walter is responsible for the accident and for Sabrina's condition. Jeff secretly buys Jabot stock for him and Gloria, as well as for himself. Meanwhile, Gloria buys stock in Jabot under her own name as well. Chloe gives Lily the sonogram of the baby but Lily rips it up. Heather informs Jill, Cane and Kay that she believes David killed Ji Min. Meanwhile, reporters at Jabot accost Nikki. Daniel tells Amber that they should go back to being just friends. Victoria apologizes to Victor and reaches out to him but he vows to make whoever is responsible for the crash pay.

Amber is shocked when Daniel tells her that he can't go back to the way things were. Daniel tells Amber that it is killing him to walk away from her but he doesn't believe he can ever get passed what she did with Adrian. Victor is desperate to believe that Sabrina is healing. Jana and Kevin arrive and Jana goes to visit with Sabrina while Victor tells a skeptical Nick, Michael and Adam

Honda Accord or Toyota Camry?

data

Looking for a nice family car under $15,000, so I'm looking at a late ('06 or newer) model used Camry or Accord 4 cylinder. What you get and why? Is one safer? More reliable? Less expensive to repair?

Answer
Well you have rounded the choice down to two worthy adversaries. Both cars are very well made but I would have to side with Honda on this dilemma you are in for the simple matter that Honda is better. Honda was awarded #5 Best in Overall Quality by JD Power. Let Me just list the Pros and Cons

2006 Honda Accord:
Pros:
- 4-cylinder engine was the new K-series
- An Excellent 5-speed automatic transmission offers acceleration with Great Fuel economy (Low RPM Cruising)
- 4-cylinder Honda Accord is the first production car in the world to meet California's Super Ultra Low Emission standards
- New rear end styling compated to 2003 Model
- LED taillights
- Daytime running lights
- Heated side mirrors for EX models
- Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), also known as Electronic Stability Control
- New wheel designs
- New steering wheel cover
- Differently colored gauges
- Differently styled shift knob for automatic transmission models
- 4-cylinder engine's horsepower was increased to 166HP
- The 4-cylinder engines were now controlled with Drive-By-Wire (DBW), rather than a throttle cable, providing for smooth operation and enhanced throttle response.
- Excellent Interior Quality
- Comfortable Seating makes it perfect for long trips

Cons:
- Seats have a carpet like pattern
- Honda has been criticized for having road noise but consumers do say they do not notice

I really do not want to bother put the pros and cons for the Toyota Camry since the 2006 Camry and 2007 Camry are different and the list would take forever to type and because Toyota really copies much of what Honda does and I do not like them. They also have been sued for patent infringement and Toyota Executives told News Reporter that Toyota has buried much of their accident statistics so they would not have to pay the many people who have been injured from their vehicles but I will give you a list of cars near your price range:

Used Sedans (These cars will be Roomy and around 20,000):
2005-2008 Cadillac STS V6/V8 (RWD 0-60 5.9-7sec)(Best Buy: Cadillac is number 3 in overall quality and reliability and the STS has all leather interior with excellent exterior and interior design and most importantly american made)
2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan (RWD 0-60 5.8 sec)
2001-2007 Lexus LS 430 (RWD 0-60 5.9 sec)(#5 Best Used Car Buy by Automobile Magazine)
2005-2008 Chrysler 300C (RWD 0-60 7.5 sec) (#7 BestBuy for Used Cars)
2008 Honda Accord LX/LX Premium (FWD 0-60 7.7 sec)
2006 Lexus IS 250 ( RWD 0-60 7.9 sec)
2004-2008 Acura TL (FWD 0-60 6.5 sec) (Technically American because Acura is only in America and was intended for the US by Honda)
2005-2008 Dodge Charger SXT/R/T/SRT-8 (RWD 5.7-6.8 sec)
2000-2005 Lexus IS 300 (RWD 0-60 7.8 sec)
2003-2008 Mercury Grand Marquis (RWD 0-60 8.7 sec) (#2 Most Reliable Car in the United States to this date and has side crash testing at speed of 70 mph instead of 30)
1998-2007 Ford Crown Victoria (RWD 0-60 8.9 sec)
2004-2006 Audi A6 (RWD 0-60 6.5 sec)
2002-2006 Jaguar X Type (RWD 0-60 7.4 sec)
2000-2005 Jaguar S Type (RWD 0-60 7.3 sec)
2003-2007 Cadillac CTS (RWD 0-60 6.8 sec) (Looks were controversial because of so many sharp angles buy is came out alright)
AND MANY MANY MORE!!! Need any help with finding one, feel free to im or email m

Aussies who live in New Zealand?

Melle

Ok, i've been considering moving to Auckland New Zealand for the past few months, i live in Adelaide South Australia and i'm sick of the extreme weather changes and the fact housing is so expensive here. I just want to know is there any other Aussies who have moved to New Zealand, can you tell me was it easy to migrate? and what's the country like compared to Australia

Answer
It easy to migrate as long as you have Australian citizenship. Just hop on a plane and come on over!
Ok the bad news. NZ has been hit by the recession like the rest of the world. However our economy was in a bad way before that so expect to earn a lot less than your Aussie mates. The cost of living in our major centres, Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch is pretty much the same as Australia. However if you decide to live in a smaller city like New Plymouth or Hamilton be prepared to get bored as there's not usually very much happening.
The good news, the population of NZ is small so you won't have to push and shove to get a train! (well not as much!) Our weather is pretty good. We don't get the high temperautres that you guys get but its a diferent kind of heat and you will burn quickly so you need to cover up with sunblock! Wellington is very windy though and the weather can get pretty rough down there. But a beautiful day in Wellington takes your breath away.
NZ has gorgeous scenery and is very green. No water restrictions here. Enjoy your long shower and wash your car whenever you like!
NZ is very multi cultural however you will encounter some racism in the major cities as you do with most cities around the world.
You can't live more than 1.5 hours away from the beach in NZ which is always a bonus!

Hope it helps...

Would you rather live in the U.S. or New Zealand?

Oswald the

And why

Answer
Well as an American who immigrated to New Zealand have experienced both countries. There are certainly upsides to each. Neither is a terrible place to live, but individual circumstances make the biggest difference. Living in Auckland is like being in a whole other country to Invercargill.

The US has the advantage of being much wealthier. Americans drive bigger, newer cars, enjoy much faster internet, pay less for food and electronic goods, housing etc. and earn much higher wages. If you are unhappy with your life in one area of the US you can move somewhere new with a different culture, accent, history without ever leaving the country.

The downside is living in a very materealistic culture with a vast gulf between the wealthy and the poor. The culture of fear is what really annoyed me. Thanks to 24-hour news networks Americans are constantly afraid of things harming their families. Everything is blown out of proportion. There's also the culture war between liberals and conservatives that takes on a more venemous nature than in NZ.

New Zealand is a peaceful and beautiful nation that combines the best aspects of the landscape of California, Hawaii and Vermont. Violent crime rates are lower and people feel much safer. The low population means overcrowding, traffic and pollution are smaller problems than in the US. Life moves at more laid-back, slower pace. Even visitors from Hawaii have told me NZ is way more laid-back culturally. People are less confrontational, less blunt. Mostly free medical care, university education and stong social services are also big plusses.

The downside is that NZ's infrastructure hasn't been well developed. Rationed internet (bought per gig/per month), motorways that end at the city limits and total lack of a national rail network are symptoms of this. All goods are more expensive and wages are 40% lower than just across the Tasman in Australia. Housing generally lacks insulation and central heating, meaning the cool, damp winters are shockingly cold for Americans used to modern housing. Cars are significantly older (averaging 14-15 years old) and petrol is at least twice as expensive as in the US.

Personally I chose New Zealand and I've never regretted that choice. I'd never move back to the US because my life is in NZ and as a teacher I'd never want to work in the US education system. New Zealand has one of the best public systems in the world, ranked far above the US. New Zealand may be less wealthy but it does more with less money. However I've spent my whole adult life in NZ and I imagine it would be tougher to adjust for someone moving as an adult because it would likely mean having to take a serious pay-cut.

Want to start learning about cars?

Guroo

Im buying my first car tomorrow.(A 2000 mustang v6) And I've been wanting to start learning about cars. Problem is i have no clue where to start. Any advice?

Answer
No1 Buy yourself a book called the Lemonade Book on cars bec it really is a great vehicle owners and car buyers eye opener and has vital info on many vehicles out there, plus always do a check on the Vin number so you know what the vehicles history is and in fact the seller at times will offer it to you or if you ask will supply or purchase one for you even.In fact in my area of Canada it's the sellers duty to buyer to buy the package for the seller and it's the law.

No2 Be sure to keep in mind that it takes at least 5 yrs for any vehicle manufactures to get the bugs out of any vehicles they make therefore don't buy models that haven't been on the market for at least 5 yrs.

No3 Be aware of vehicles that just seem to look too good on the outside or inside or the deal sounds too good bec sometimes sellers will shine a car right up or clean the inside so nice and when you go to open the hood the car looks terribly not kept up and 10 yrs older.
In fact the sellers is trying to make the rest of the vehicle look so nice that you don't pay attention to the things that they don't want you to notice.
But do keep in mind that some ppl only take care of thier vehicle's interior and outside bec all they care about is the appearance.Plus it goes the other way too some take great care in how the over all vehixcle runs and don't care much about the inside or outside of the car much therefore you've got crappy or mid class looking vehicles that maybe running 10 times better then the all dulled up vehicles on the roads too.

No4 Once you've found a vehicle you're interested in then research the yr , model and make , find out what are it's common faults via that book and even place a inquiry online here directed at the people who own and repair them , plus look online at the dealerships sites and look up factory recalls or customer news bulletins etc.Keep in mind that usaully if you see all shiny metals or bolts etc that means work has been done on that part of the vehicle so it be a good idea to have a under the hood pictorial or diagram outlining parts etc so you can compare your notes etc.

No5 When approaching the vehicle glance walk around the vehicle and try to see if you smell any gas etc and look under the car for any possible leaks , once you've test drived it try to park on a dry clean surface and do the check again.Once engine is running again go around the vehhicle to check for leaks or any gas scents , also check the color of the exhaust and it's smell lol.

If the exhaust fumes smell like gas or seem quite thick or dark or black or white get the vehicle fully checked by a mechanic and ask the sellers why the exhaust is like that too.Basically if the fumes smell like gas or smells funny or is all white or black exhaust fumes you could be looking at a basic full tune up or anything from basic to major exhaust work like catalytic converter or o2 sensor or even something as major as a blown gasket or a combination of them etc.

Dress accordinly if possible even bring a blanket with you so you can actually kneel or lay down to look under the vehicle or ask to see it up on a hoist but do this so you can look for rust and leaks etc.

No6 Check the list you made up while looking at the vehicle and don't be shy to ask questions of the seller , like why thier selling it or what did they repair on it , what should be repaired and do they keep any type of service records or history.

No7 Be sure that the major problems you've reasearched have already been repaired and keep a mental and written note on the things that haven't been done too.

No8 Look at the vehicle head to toe and check under the hood for any dark wet or moist marks, almost sometimes looking like muck bec they can be clean signs that oil etc has indeed been leaking or still is leaking.
Once the vehicle is cold started place you hand on the engine and feel for any heavy vibrations , if it has a bit mileage on the engine or needs a basic tune up then it vibtrating is very normal but if you hear any ticking sounds when knowing the oil level is right up especially then that could be the camshaft is worn and engine needs major work. Also keep in mind that dirty or low oil can cause these tapping noises but if knocking sounds then engine is more then likely no good.
Check the oil to see if it's too dark or mucky looking and rub it onto your fingers to see if any particles are in it, do the same with the transmission fluid once the engine is running and you've already shifted the gears once through too.If the oil is thick or mucky or really dark that could mean the vehicle wasn't well maintained , plus if the oil has any roughness in it as you rubbed it , walk away from the vehicle and don't buy a car from that seller ever.If the transmission fluid isn't redish pink or pink or is smelling like cigars be careful bec the transmission might be fried, but keep in mind that it might just need a new filter and transmission fluid .
Check the hoses over to see if any are really soft or look puffy and look for leaks while car is off, plus check the antifreeze for any discolourizations such as having oil in it bec it should be either greenishish or if it uses the new antifreeze it can even be pinkish.
Check the belts with the engine off visaully and also look at the pulleys when the vehicle is off and suddenly started to see if the belts are frayed or jump or wobble, also check the pulleys to see if they wobble or have any leaks along their shafts etc.Later start it up and look again visually , plus once you've given a good test drive look again too.

No9 Look for rusty areas under the hood and corruded wires or battery connectors etc bec those can be signs that the vehicle wasn't well maintained but also they can give you price bargaining chips too.

No10 When you start the vehicle up place your foot hard on the brake and shift from park through the gears see if anything is acting funny or strange , especially funny noises and see if the vehicle jumps or jerks once it's being shifted.Oviouslly if strange metalic grinding noises or noises like that that could be a sign the transmission is faulty , and if the vehicle jerks or jumps sort of that means the transmission mount is faulty.

No11 Have someone start it up and shift through the gears watch to see if the engine rocks or sways back and forth too much bec that is a sign engine mounts need replacing.

No12 Take any vehicle you've decided that you're very interested in to a reliable mechanic and pay the 60.00 or so bucks to give yourself a good solid piece of mind and again another bargaining chip.Plus if the seller won't let you do this especially a car sales agent , or they seem to be pushy or try to rush you as you rightfully check the vehicle over , then my advice be weary , cautious of the seller and walk away.

Hope that helps and best of luck.Oh by the way you know how they always say buyer be aware but if you do your homework it becomes seller be very aware of this smart , wise buyer lol
You know that it's sadly true that certain shops or sellers etc will try to take advantage over women or people that they think don't know anything about whatever their trying to sell them.My sister use to really get upset over that issue bec dealerships even tried to take advantage of her by selling her lemons and she protested against them until they finally came out and agreed to settle the complaints. Then over the yrs she got so frustrated that she learned about vehicles and now she really knows how to spot con artists or rip off shops or the incompitentso called professionals.

In fact it's kind of funny how some shops or vehicle sales people don't like her now lol all bec she's a women and knows what she is talking about when it comes to her vehicles etc.I too have noticed that even though I'm a man some shops etc don't like me bec of me knowing so much about vehicles. But then of course people that are knowledgeable about what their buying etc do piss some people off bec they can't scam them or try to pull wool over their eyes, hence the phrase" buyers be aware" .
Anyways best of luck in finding your vehicle and please keep in mind don't ever be in any rush to buy any vehicle always take your time , be patient and do your homework too lol
