Leopard spots on body long curly tail with black rings. Not a bobcat, cougar. Similar cat on Leno last night called serval but they live in Africa. Came in my apt and tried to attack my cat.
It looks just like the serval only smaller. Not a lynx or leopard. Twice the size of a house cat.

Answer
being from az, it does sound like a bobcat-i saw on the news not too long ago they are coming closer and closer to people's houses and one lady saw one in her yard drinking water out of her pool (kinda scary)
where i live i don't see them but i do see the coyotes once in a while and even a javalina once

Why is Cindy McCain not covered by the news?

ObaMoose

People call Obama an elitist, but Cindy McCain is worth over a hundred million dollars. They say they leave her alone since she doesn't campaign, but isn't being First Lady an important job nowadays?

Her eyes creep me out.
Good to hear she helps Operation Smile. I support something a lot like it.

Answer
Yes, Mrs. McCain is the perfectly coifed blonde standing dutifully behind the senator during his speeches. And yes, she wears stylish clothing and carries a Prada purse. And it's true she doesn't say much. But feminist critics who write her off as a "stand-by-your-man" shrinking violet are selling her short. In many ways, Cindy McCain stacks up sturdier than Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama. And she'd make a more impressive first lady.

Mrs. McCain: More than meets the eye.

While Obama's wife has been hating America, complaining about the war and undermining our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, McCain's wife has been worrying about her sons who actually are fighting or planning to fight in the war on terror. One, in fact, was until a few months ago deployed in Iraq during some of the worst violence.

You don't hear the McCains talk about it, but their 19-year-old Marine, Jimmy, is preparing for his second tour of duty. Their 21-year-old son, Jack, is poised to graduate from Annapolis and also could join the Marines as a second lieutenant. The couple made the decision not to draw attention to their sons out of respect for other families with sons and daughters in harm's way.

Cindy also says she doesn't want to risk falling apart on the campaign trail talking about Jimmy who was so young when he enlisted she had to sign consent forms for his medical tests before he could report for duty and potentially upsetting parents of soldiers who are serving or have been killed.

The McCains want to make sure their boys get no special treatment. Same goes for their five other children, including a daughter they adopted from Bangladesh. During a visit to Mother Teresa's orphanage there, Cindy noticed a dying baby. The orphanage could not provide the medical care needed to save her life. So she brought the child home to
America for the surgery she desperately needed. The baby is now their healthy, 16-year-old daughter, Bridget.

Though all seven McCain children including two Sen. McCain adopted from his first marriage are supportive of their father, they prefer their privacy to the glare of the campaign trail. Another daughter, Meghan, 23, helps him behind the scenes.

Cindy McCain not only cherishes her children, but also her country, which in an election year filled with America-bashing, is a refreshing novelty. She seethed when she heard Michelle Obama's unpatriotic remarks that she only recently grew proud of America. "I am very proud of my country," Mrs. McCain asserted.

She also may be tougher than the other women in the race. While Hillary thinks she's come under sniper fire on mission trips abroad, Cindy has actually seen violence. She witnessed a boy get blown up by a mine in Kuwait during a trip with an international group that removes land mines from war-torn countries.

Mrs. McCain also is a hands-on philanthropist. She sits on the board of Operation Smile, which arranges for plastic surgeons to fix cleft palates and other birth defects. She also has helped organize relief missions to Micronesia.

During a scuba-diving vacation to the islands, Mrs. McCain took a friend to a local hospital to have a cut treated. She was shocked, and saddened, by what she saw.

"They opened the door to the OR, where the supplies were, and there were two cats and a whole bunch of rats climbing out of the sterile supplies," she recalled. "They had no X-ray machine, no beds. To me, it was devastating because it was a U.S. trust territory."

As soon as she returned home, she arranged for medical equipment and teams of doctors to be sent to treat the island children.

Michelle Obama may contribute to CARE, which fights global poverty and works to empower poor women. Cindy sits on its board.

While the Democrat women talk about helping the poor and needy, Cindy McCain actually rolls up her sleeves and does it. Who's the out-of-touch elitist?

Any free means of running a carfax report on a used vehicle?

car info vin free on Classic 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle for sale in Wentzville, Missouri, Ad ...
car info vin free image

Yuba City

I know I sound like a tightwad, but is there any free way of checking out a carfax report on a vin of a vehicle I want to purchase from a private party? It seems that the official carfax report is just 35 bucks I don't want to spend, but perhaps it's worth it in the long run... Thanks for any tips!

Answer
Other than the information (vehicle summary), which is free from http://www.autocheck.com/ and/or http://www.carfax.com ....There is no FREE "Full" history reports.

Carfax has changed their pricing and policies due to the fact that so many users were reselling/distributing the information. (<-which is , in fact, THEFT) They are concentrating their sales to; dealers, auctions, and private party buyers_&_sellers.

In some instances, If a VIN is entered into the "Carfax" site, and it is a vehicle that is for sale at a dealer that has signed on to Carfax.. the dealer website/information and the report should pull up, because the dealer has already paid for the report.

Carfax is a registered trademark name for a company that provides "Vehicle History reports"

So while I CANNOT provide you with cheaper "Carfax" reports, I can suggest another company that offers Unlimited Vehicle History Reports for 60 Days ($44.99 ) "Autocheck" is the other company and they collect data much the same as "Carfax". Autocheck is owned by Experian.. another data-collecting-company.
Autocheck prices:
Unlimited Reports $44.99
Single Report + 1 FREE! $29.99
Unlimited Reports + TitleGuard $59.99
Carfax prices:
1 CARFAX Report for $34.99
5 CARFAX Reports for $44.99
(above prices current as of April 25, 2010)

There is a lot "data" that you can collect on your own though... without spending a dime.
*******************
Free data source #1
Check the dealers website
If a reputable dealer is signed on (paid subscriptions) to Carfax or Autocheck, the dealers own website can publish the reports to potential buyers. This info is free to the buyers because the sellers have already paid for it.

NOTE!!!
If you click on a link to "view the report" from a dealer site, and it redirects you to a site that AGAIN asks you to PAY for the report, then that particular dealer is NOT a paid subscriber, BUT that dealer MAY receive a referral fee when YOU pay for the report.
___________________
Free data source #2
Ask the private owner/seller to show you the report
Private sellers often purchase a vehicle history report and can show it to potential buyers too. That should be considered the cost of doing business and the seller can absorb the fee.
(^^BEST PRACTICE for reputable sellers)

National Insurance Crime Bureau site offers up to 5 free inquiries (VINs)a day. They collect data about vehicles reported as stolen and about vehicles reported as "total loss" (due to flood, fire, accident/collision )or "salvaged" (rebuilt/reconstructed).

Free data source #4
Carfax
Yes Carfax! At the bottom of the Carfax home page, there are several FREE SERVICES: Lemon Check® | Record Check⢠| Recall Check⢠| Problem Car Check⢠|
The information that will be provided will be very basic and will STILL encourage you to PURCHASE their services.

Manufacturer sites.
The original manufacturer of the vehicles often has an "Owner Resource Center" website that can give you a plethora of information ..such as; owners manuals, maintenance requirements, recall information, etc.

For example, Ford has a section where you can enter any Ford VIN and it will tell you if there are any recalls on that vehicle
( http://www.ford.com/owner-services/customer-support/recall-information )

Free data source #6
Internet Search Engines
You might be surprised at how much information you will find by "googling" a vehicle identification number (VIN). For instance, if you find the SAME vehicle is listed "for sale" at more that one "dealer".... One of them could be a scam site that has "scraped" the other (legitimate) site and is trying to scam buyers.
(if you have posted a VIN at Y!Answers, you will probably see the question in the google-search results)<--that's one of the ways that Carfax & AutoCheck can see who is violating their terms.

Free data source #7
NHTSA-odi
(National Highway Transportation Safety Administration-office of defects investigation)
At this website consumers can look up ; recalls, technical service bulletins, consumer complaints, and defect investigations. There could be inherent problems with particular years/makes/models (vehicles).

***FINALLY
After researching the free data, you should be able to narrow down your choices of vehicles that you are seriously considering for purchase.
That would be the time for you to actually get out the checkbook and spend some of your money on an actual physical inspection of the vehicles that made it to the "short list".
Before you purchase ANY vehicle, it would be very wise to pay a skilled/trained/certified technician/mechanic to inspect the vehicle in person.

I hope this helps.

How would I transfer ownership of car from private owner?

connor

I was looking to buy a car from a private owner, but I was curious on how the deal should go down. What transaction happens? Does he have the paperwork for it? And is there any legal obligations I would have to get from city hall? For example the tags. Would he sell the car tag with it,or if not how would I get it home without a tag and/or no insurance on the car(since I would've just bought it)

Answer
Here's a easy way to do this,
come up with an agreement type up a little contract and sign it, both of you.
It just helps in the long run and will probably never be needed but if for some reason you did you'd have it.
Now, you can put insurance on a vehicle without owning it. It's not a big deal. Just take the VIN number and get the insurance quote from any place you want.
THen when you have the insurance get the "title" from him/her, you and him/her go to the nearest local Notary that does Vehicle transfers. At that time in front of a Notary the seller would sign ownership of said vehicle over to the new owner, and it would be notarized and a new registration and plate for the vehicle will be given. Now if the previous owner has a good registration and plate most states will allow the seller to let the plate and registration transfer to the new owner which saves a little money by doing so. However, isn't a huge deal which way its done.
Contact your Local Department of motor vehicle for more info on your states requirements. However, this is usually how this goes. You can look up notary in the phone book call around find someone who does it very cheap or free some do charge upwards of 100.00 for their service, others 10.00 or free.
Good luck hope this helps..

What is the most cost effective way to add horse power to a Ford 302?

The previous owner of my 67 Mustang replace the original 289 ci engine with a 1979 302 ci. Since the numbers do not match, I am thinking about building up the engine. I donât have a lot of cash or horsepower. What would you recommend as a cost effective additions to this engine to add a little muscle?
If I followed this advice would I have to upgrade the transmission or anything else?

Answer
Racing cowboy58 is correct about the intake part but you can't start at the carbourator. You need to start with the intake manifold to prevent flooding. Possibley one may want to get the heads waxed first, depending on how far you want to go with your project, muscle car. E-mail me for more info.

If you can, go back to the 289. Not only will this keep your classic in its vintage it was a much better motor. 302 mice are known for intollerance to heat and knocking into an all out blown motor.

Are Conservatives aware that there were at least 11 US embassy attacks under Bush?

car news june 2012 on Sam Rainsy, who is currently in the UK, is expected to meet a number ...
car news june 2012 image

The Equali

Probably not. Fox News didn't feed this information to the low-information bigots.

Further evidence that the Republican "outrage" is purely political.

And no, it wasn't the same the other way around. Democrats did not politicize the embassy attacks or try to attack Bush for them - before anyone tries a hand at the false equivalency card.

US Embassies & consulates attacked under Bush:

June 14, 2002, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Suicide bomber kills 12 and injures 51.

February 20, 2003, international diplomatic compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Truck bomb kills 17.

February 28, 2003, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Gunmen on motorcycles killed two consulate guards.

July 30, 2004, U.S. embassy in Taskkent, Uzbekistan
Suicide bomber kills two.

December 6, 2004, U.S. consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Militants stormed and occupied perimeter wall. Five killed, 10 wounded.

March 2, 2006, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Suicide car bomber killed four, including a U.S. diplomate directly targeted by the assailants.

September 12, 2006, U.S. embassy in Damascus, Syria
Gunmen attacked embassy with grenades, automatic weapons, and a car bomb (though second truck bomb failed to detonate). One killed and 13 wounded.

January 12, 2007, U.S. embassy in Athens, Greece
A rocket-propelled grenade was fired at the embassy building. No one was injured.

July 9, 2008, U.S. consulate in Istanbul, Turkey
Armed men attacked consulate with pistols and shotguns. Three policemen killed.

March 18, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen
Mortar attack misses embassy, hits nearby girls' school instead.

September 17, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen
Militants dressed as policemen attacked the embassy with RPGs, rifles, grenades and car bombs. Six Yemeni soldiers and seven civilians were killed. Sixteen more were injured.

The University of Maryland database also lists 64 attacks on American diplomatic targets during the George W. Bush administration, including car bombs at the US embassy in Yemen and armed attackers assaulting a US consulate in Saudi Arabia.
SCE2AUX2: Wrong again, you low-information fool. Obama called the attacks "acts of terror" the very next morning after the attacks. Romney was proven wrong on this at the debates. Get with the program.
Obama is the most: Show us any evidence that Obama altered Petraeus' reports. BTW, you've already made it clear in past questions that you hate Obama because of his race, so your opinions are invalid.
sister_: No, and neither did Obama. He called it an act of terror. And if Obama did blame a video, what does that mean exactly? Is that a crime? A scandal? You're scraping at the bottom of the barrel for anything.
Nikki: Why is that any different? People were killed (including Americans). US sovereignty was violated.
Two Lanes: "And you never hear of a republican calling liberals names or whining about MSNBC at every turn."

Probably the biggest lie told all year. Republicans & Conservatives call Liberals names and whine about MSNBC ALL THE TIME.
Trapped In The Wall: "Did George Bush ever have a CIA fire team on the ground, Marine quick reaction team only a few hours away on an airbase that was ready to support the SEALs trapped in the embassy, and then tell all of them not to do anything? Obama did. "

A complete LIE on your part. Obama NEVER told Marines not to act. You're a liar, and I invite you to provide a source showing that Obama gave an order for Marines not to intervene. You are a liar, and you hate facts almost as much as you hate Obama.
Ollicopter: Protests in reaction to the video occurred during the same day of the attacks - it's reasonable to make that mistake. Besides, why would that be a scandal whether Obama blamed the video or not? How is that a crime? You're an absolute clown.
SCE2AUX2: "No, YOU are the one who is wrong, you mendacious turd. Obama was referring to "acts of terror" IN GENERAL. NOT Benghazi."

He used the term "acts of terror" in a speech directly about Benghazi. Clearly that shows he implied that Benghazi was an act of terror. You hate facts.

But here's the thing - whether he blamed the video or not, how is that a crime or an impeachable offense? There is no proof it was deliberate. Many people thought the video was to blame because of the confusion over the fact that the attacks & protests of the video occurred on the very same day.

You are one low-information clown.
Trapped in The Wall: I read the entire article. I saw nowhere in the article it backing your claim that Obama told Marines not to protect the consulate. You just made that up. Again, I will repeat it - YOU ARE A LIAR.

Show me anywhere in that article that verifies your claims.
sister_: "Obama actually did blame a film for 2 weeks. He got his GF Rice to do the same plus his Press Secretary and others in the administration. You're the only person who seems to think it didn't happen."

No, you're just in the Republican bubble. The same bubble that told you Romney would win in a landslide. Many people don't side with your lies. Whether Obama blamed a film or not is irrelevant, because the allegation from the right that it was a crime/cover-up worthy of impeachment. Reporting faulty intelligence is not a crime. And mark my words, Republicans will come up short to find anything.
Paul: I don't see what your implications are - your videos say that the State Department knew of attacks while they were happening. A CIA security team was sent, but they were too late. Nothing you stated was a crime.
Trapped in The Wall: You wouldn't do anything, you coward. You're angry because I proved you to be a LIAR.

Answer
I have never seen so many straw man attacks in my entire life!!! Trapped in a wall, the Teams got there in 25 min from the attack. - According to the timeline, the first call for help from the consulate was received at the CIAâs nearby Benghazi headquarters â referred to as a diplomatic annex by U.S. officials â at around 9:40 p.m., which is when the attack began.

âFewer than 25 minutes later, a security team left the annex for the mission,â said the timeline, which added that the group spent about 25 minutes trying to take out militants firing heavy weapons as it fought its way to the walled compound and then entered it under heavy fire.

At 11:11 p.m., according to the timeline, an unmanned surveillance drone arrived over the complex while the CIA security team, which comprised about six officers, rounded up the approximately 30 staff members on the consulate premises and prepared to move them to the annex. The security team at that point had recovered Smithâs body but had been unable to locate Stevens, who local Libyan guards had spirited out a backdoor to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from smoke inhalation.

The CIA security team and the mission staff drove out of the consulate under fire and returned to the annex, which had come under sporadic small arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire

That's your article that is supposed to prove Obama did nothing

What is so stupid about these allegations is that Obama would have absolutely nothing to gain if he did hold back a rescue. Unless there is soon going to be a wild conspiracy theory cooked up.

Attention Toronto Locals! (or Ontario residents) Best time to visit ?

Mieah

Hi. I am planning a trip to Toronto with my mom and I wanted to know what's a good time of the year to visit. I am trying to convince her to move to Ontario (preferably Southern Ont) She thinks Canada is cold and snowy all year round and I'm trying to show her that it's not like that. I wanted to go in April maybe late March, but it might be still a little cold. I personally love Canada. And also, what are some good places to visit when going to Toronto ? Thanks.

Answer
Toronto in summer is hot. REALLY hot. And tropically humid too.
That's due to southern Ontario being bordered by three of the Great Lakes.
All that water gets steamy in summer, and so does southern Ontario including Toronto.
Especially Toronto: it's a port city on the shore of one of the Great Lakes, Lake Ontario.

How hot is hot? By July 17th 2012, Toronto had issued 8 heat alerts:
Link - http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/toronto-breaks-weather-record-as-temperatures-top-36c/article4422462/
Remember that we're metric, so our temperatures are in Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
36.2°C = 97 F. On top of which is the humidity that makes it feel even hotter.
For pretty much all of last summer, Toronto was hotter & steamier than Los Angeles.

So plan your visit for June or July, not March or April.
That way your mom will have absolute proof Canada's NOT cold & snowy all year long.

Things to do? Toronto is the 4th biggest city in North America. And it shows:
Over 9,000 restaurants serving food from everywhere around the world.
2,000 pieces of fine art on display in public buildings & civic centres,
150 monuments and pieces of public art,
125 public museums & art galleries. (like the Royal Ontario Museum & Art Gallery of Ontario.)
80+ annual cultural events, including Caribana & Nuit Blanche,
75+ annual film festivals, including the world-famous Toronto International Film Festival,
Over 5 dozen shopping malls including Toronto's famous glass-ceiling Eaton Centre,
50+ ballet and dance companies,
Dozens of movie theatres,
6 opera companies,
3rd largest theatre district in the English-speaking world with 90 separate venues,
2 symphony orchestras,
And the Toronto Zoo too.
Plus hundreds of bars and nightclubs for the grown-ups to go have fun at.
(Including North America's biggest club, The Guverment that holds up to 10 thousand people.)

There's 1,500 parks and 8,000 hectares (20,000 acres) of parklands, including the scenic Rosedale Valley, Scarborough Bluffs and more.
Link - http://www.toronto.ca/parks/trails/discover.htm
Plus 195 km (121 miles) of bike trails and pedestrian paths.

Toronto's on the shore of Lake Huron, so of course there's beaches:
Link - http://www.blogto.com/sports_play/2011/07/the_top_five_beaches_in_toronto/

The Toronto PATH is like nothing you or your mom will have ever seen before.
PATH is 28 km (17 miles) of pedestrian tunnels underneath downtown Toronto.
It's like a giant mall with 1,200 stores and holds the Guinness World Record for world's largest underground shopping complex:
Link - http://www.torontopath.com/view/Virtual-Tours-of-the-PATH.aspx
(It's also a super handy way to get around downtown in bad weather.)

The CN Tower is a must-see tourist attraction:
Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ffjDqybWeE&feature=related
(Also check out Youtube videos of the CN Tower Edgewalk. Expensive, crazy scary, but fun.)

The Entertainment District is popular:
Link - http://torontoed.com/
So is Toronto's very own castle, Casa Loma:
Link - http://www.casaloma.org/

Harbourfront Centre is popular:
Link - http://www.harbourfrontcentre.com/summer/
So is the biggest roller coaster amusement park in the country, Canada's Wonderland:
Link - http://www.canadaswonderland.com/
Plus Wild Water Kingdom:
Link - http://wildwaterkingdom.com/

And some people like just riding around on Toronto's street cars and subway trains.
Toronto is known as 'the city of neighbourhoods' and some of them are tourist attractions.
The TTC, Toronto's public transit system, is a great way to explore them.
There's also the Toronto Islands, with lots to see and do and ferries that run every few minutes.

The main freeway that passes through Toronto is the 401. At one point, it's 24 lanes wide.
And it's the busiest highway in all of North America, by the way.
I've met people that visited Toronto just to crank up the tunes on their car stereo and drive it.

A two hour drive north of Toronto is Muskoka, referred to as 'Ontario's cottage country'.
It's 2500 square miles with 1600 lakes, plus waterfalls and cliffs and where people from Toronto and all over Ontario get away from it all to get back to nature in summer.
Nearby is the city of Parry Sound, and Lake Huron's Georgian Bay.
Georgian Bay has the Thirty Thousand Islands, the largest freshwater island archipelago on Earth.
It's a great place to visit in summer if you guys are into boating at all.

Just Google 'Toronto tourism' for more ideas.
And look up some Youtube videos of Toronto to show her what it looks like.
Hope that help and good luck.
But if you do come in June or July, pack shorts and t-shirts. You'll need them.

Renee A

So I'm travevling with my 1 year old from San Diego to NY for Thanksgiving. We werent able to get her a ticket so she'll be on my lap. I dont have to worry about bringing any big items as our family back east has everything. My question is what is the easiest way to get through the airport and if there are any ideas on how to keep her entertained as I think we are stuck in a middle seat too.

Answer
-First off, even if you did not buy a ticket for your daughter, you must inform the airline of your intent to travel with an infant. This is done so that they can better asses the situation with oxygen masks on board the plane (making sure that they have enough for all passengers).

-The easiest way to navigate the airport is to go to the ticket counter, check you bags and get your boarding passes, then proceed to your gate. Make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to do this. The earlier you get there, the less crowded the lines will be, and the more relaxed you will be.

-Make sure to pack plenty of things to entertain your child, such as a few books, toys, a portable DVD player (or a laptop) with a few movies, and one or two comfort things such as a favorite blankie or stuffed animal. I always bring a small pillow and blanket from home for my children (even now) because I know 100% that they are clean, and my children are accustomed to them.

My children like to bring along their own coloring books, a Doodle Pad, their Leap Pads (with a few booklets), and scrap paper that they can make their own drawings with and play games such as tic-tac-toe. My daughter used to like to bring along a doodle bear when she was younger so that she could draw on that as well, and my son likes to bring along some action figures to play with. I found that buying a Rose Art kit from Target (about $5 for the small one and $10 for the large one) is great! It has crayons, markers, coloring books, coloring sheets, and stickers that they can color. It definitely keeps them entertained!

You can also play games like pat-a-cake, or I-spy, and tell stories to your child as well. If you tell a story, try to make it an interactive one where your child has a part in it so she stays interested. This is also a good time to explain things that are happening or going to happen on the plane, and ask questions, such as what do you think the weather is going to be like when we land? etc.

You might also consider going to the store and letting your child pick out her own carry on bag and a few inexpensive toys that will be used only once on the plane. Be sure to pick out a few toys without her seeing so that she has an extra surprise when she opens her carry on.

Don't be afraid to get up and walk the aisles with your child. This will help to break up the length of the flight and let her stretch her muscles. In fact, this is good for everyone to do.

I've been flying internationally with my children since they were 2 months (now 8&5). At least three trips a year are the children and I traveling internationally (14+ hours each way) alone, and we do 8-10 other flights (internationally and domestically) as a family each year. Here are some other tips and advise that have always worked for me and I hope will work for you too:

1.) Prepare your child on what to expect. Talk to her about the experience before hand. Tell her about what is going to happen when you get to the airport, when you are on the plane, and when you arrive at your destination.

Here is a link to a question I answered about what to expect when flying (also includes information about what to do at the airport) that may help you out a bit:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqRwTFqrvYN.iAfC_oy6CHPty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071019044251AA76vkg&show=7#profile-info-t6KmZpK4aa

2.) You will need to have all your child's documents in order. Like I said above, it is a good idea to keep a copy of her notarized birth certificate with you. Verify what travel documents you will need in advance to make sure you have everything.

3.) You can take a stroller and gate check it. This means that you will be able to use it all the way up until the time that you board, and one of the handlers will take it and put it in a special compartment for you. When you exit the plane, it will be waiting for you at the door as well. You can also do this with your car seat if you'd like.

Here's a product that can attach to most car seats so that you can use it as a stroller and get it through the airport more easily. http://www.gogobabyz.com/products/gogo_kids.html

4.) I advise using a CRS (Child Restraint System) because it is safe for the child - especially during turbulence, makes them feel secure, is more comfortable for both parent and child, will help your child sleep, and gives both of you the opportunity to relax a bit.

A CRS is a hard-backed child or infant safety seat (Car Seat) that is approved by the government for use in both motor vehicles and aircraft.

In order to be certified for use on an airplane, the car seat has to met the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (most car seats have this). Check the labels on the side of your car restraint for a sticker (words will be printed in red) for verification that your seat is safe for airplane use.

There is also a new device that is approved by the FAA for airline use ONLY. It is called CARES (Child Aviation Restraint System) and costs $75. It weighs 1 pound, is certified for all phases of flight (taxiing, take off, turbulence and landing), adjusts to fit ALL size airplane seats, and is approved for kids 22â44 lbs.
http://www.kidsflysafe.com/

Many airlines offer half-price tickets so parents can be guaranteed that their child can travel in a CRS device. You should call your airline to ask for a discount and/or ask what the airline's policy is for using empty seats.

5.) For take-offs and landings (the WHOLE way up, and starting from the BEGINNING, or TOP of descent)

The best ways are to alleviate the pressure are to:

*If your daughter is nursing, nurse her.
*Give her something to drink (milk, water, juice - it doesn't matter)
*Pinch his nostrils shut, have him take a deep breath in through the mouth, then force the air into the back of the nose (gently, but with pressure) as if trying to blow her nose.
*Place hot damp towels (usually like the ones distributed to first and business class before take-off and landing to freshen up with - just ask a flight attendant for them) or paper towels that have been soaked in hot water and wrung out, at the bottom of two paper or styrofoam cups, then hold the cups over the ears.
*Gently but with some pressure, rub her neck repeatedly from the chin to the base of the neck. This will cause a swallowing motion that will relieve pressure build-up in the ears.

You can also try using a decongestant. It is always best to check with your doctor before using any type of medications though, to make sure you are using the one best suited to your childs needs.

Baby formula is fine to take, and you are not limited to the amount you can bring aboard (as long as your child is with you), do not worry. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/formula.shtm

6.) Bring Snacks! just add water packets of food, cheerios, goldfish, animal crackers, dried fruit, etc. are great. New regulations also allow you to take beverages (including water) from home as long as they are less than 3oz (100ml), -OR- beverages (including water) of any size that you have purchased from inside the security area onto planes. You can also bring a limited amount of baby food, yogurt, cheese, puddings, etc. with you also as long as they are in containers less than 3oz (100ml).
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm#9

Save your money when it comes to buying water though because the Flight Attendants will provide you with hot or cold water (or any other drink) free at any time that you request, no matter how many times you request it.

7.) Be sure to pack 2-3 changes of clothes for your child. You will need this in case she gets sick, spills something on herself, or in case your luggage gets lost.

8.) Keep your diaper bag well stocked with plenty of wipes, ointments and other essential things. Just remember the new law regulating liquids, gels, and such and pack accordingly. http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm You can usually find travel size baby products in stores and they are wonderful for plane use.

9.) Keep your doctors name and number with you. Also get the name and number of a doctor where you are visiting in case an emergency should come up.

Make sure you have a check-up with your doctor before leaving to make sure your child is healthy enough to fly. If your child has even a slight cold, the pressure in her ears during take-off and landing (even if you do the precaution methods) could leave her ears aching for days after the flight.

Most doctors recommend that if anyone is sick (such as being stuffed up or already having an earache), not to take the flight because of the potential damage to the ears. I know my husband and other pilots do not work if they are sick because of this danger.

10.) Bring any medications that you might need for your child should she get sick or that she takes regularly. Remember that if they are not prescription medications, the 3oz (100ml) rule applies to them and they must be kept in a clear plastic bag.
http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm

Do NOT give your child medicine with the hopes of it making her sleep. This is not only cruel, but dangerous as well.

11.) Keep your calm. If you get stressed out, your child can pick up on it and it will make the travel that much harder.

12.) Last but not least, if help is offered to you, take it.

If I can be of any more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Buying a new car - should I tell the dealer I will be giving them a very large down payment?

jblonde

I recently totaled my 2004 Honda Accord. After the current lein is paid off I will have $12,000 from my insurance company to put down on a new car. I may not put it all down but I need to keep my payments low right now. I am definitely getting another new Accord. Do I tell them I am putting that kind of money down? Will it help me get a lower price? What is the best way to go about this?

Answer
#1 drive the car so they use time on you but make sure after that they know you are willing to walk away. You can always say something like "maybe this just isn't the right car for me right now" even if it is.
#2 Take a friend who has good sense to be supportive if you do decide to walk.
#3 Don't give the dealer your $ info until the very end of the deal or they will just figure that into your price.

This is a game whether you like it or not and you need to play it well. Don't show your cards until the deal is nearly sealed and then ask what kind of a better deal could they give if you were somehow able to scrounge $12,000.
Good luck

What you be in support of this action against the American car companies?

Saucy

I propose to let the automakers fail but to an extent. I would put a congressional chairperson to oversee every action each car company does with the new bailout money. And impose strict guidelines in terms of emissions like California on the new vehicles made.

--OR--

Let the automakers fail and instead inject money directly into all the other smaller car companies that are much more focused on fuel efficient cars like Telsa and a few others. This would create a new auto market where instead of a few companies owning the industry, there would be dozens which could possibly spur more manufacturing jobs and more competition in the long haul. The big 3 would still exist but would be restructed most likely under bankruptcy claims.

Thoughts? Suggestions? What you think?
The only problem with both letting them fail and giving them money is what will happen to the 2.1 million people who are employed by them?

Answer
I have another option. Let them be responsible for their actions just like any other business. They can choose to file for bankruptcy (this will not mean that they will close). Then they can restructure and since their contracts with the unions would be canceled by the bankruptcy, they could renegotiate a more reasonable agreement.

Even if GM were to go under, life will go on. Other car companies will experience a rise in sales. A new car company could emerge---one with good efficiency and management---and who makes a quality product that people will want to buy. The displaced workers will survive. I live in a city where we've lost several GM plants in the last decade. Life goes on. Some workers retire, some train to work in other fields (their severance includes free schooling), others choose to work in other manufacturing plants. The severance for these unskilled employees is extremely generous. If they've worked at GM for over 10 years, they get $140,000.00 each---which in this area is more than the average price of a home.
http://www.whiotv.com/news/17754270/detail.html
We've lost 1,000's of GM jobs and life has went on. Yes, the local economy has taken a hit but it's not devastated. If we have to reward any business with government money (which I'm against doing), I'd rather reward the successful ones. I've seen the business practices of GM and I DON"T want to be forced to invest in them through taxation.

I own an automotive repair business called Quality Muffler & Brake Car Care Center in Milwaukee,WI.I would like to know how to get free public info on new residents moving to the neighborhood so I can improve my business.

Answer
There's many marketing firms that set up new mover direct mail campaigns, but do you really think you're going to find the information for free? Do you get any direct mail leads for free? Of course not.

I'm not trying to be rude, but quit being cheap. It takes money to make money.

Here's a few places to BUY new mover lists:

What are the basic driving rules in the Philippines?

car news philippines on Auto News, Auto Shop, And Motor Automotive
car news philippines image

Sexy_Momma

I do know how to drive and own a license. But like most Filipinos, I did not learn from a driving school. The theory test was a breeze, forget the practical test. Basically the examiner just wanted to know if I knew where the ignition key is.

My questions are:

Is there a speed limit within the city? I know expressway max is 110 kph.

Is there such a thing as priority is given to the right? (ie when a car is coming from a corner on your right hand side)

I'm asking because after just getting a european license, it's like a whole new world of rules and regulations for me. And it makes a lot of sense. Whereas when I was driving in Manila, I was driving cluelessly around.

Answer
IN REALITY, there are no speed limits ( you cant overspeed anyway, because of the traffic)

There are no "right of way" - just drive defensively , just because its a hassle getting your car fixed.

Keep you COOL - for sure some drivers will piss you off but always keep in mind that its a hassle to get your car fixed, specially if you only have 1 car , its not like here in the US for example they give you a temporary car to use while they fix your car, that doesnt happen in the Philippines.

An automatic car is more convenient if you have lots of GAS (Petrol) money to burn. A manual car will make your left leg ache (clutch) :-( (Good news: Spa massage is affordable there).

Just be vigilant when driving at night specially when you're alone, dont stop at anything or anyone.

Just make sure you have a camera handy just in case.

How are Japanese car companies doing through all this?

mirzai_m

All the focus in the news is how the big 3 U.S. auto makers are screwed. How are Japanese car companies doing right now? We own Hondas because American cars flat-out suck.

Answer
I'm actually a Canadian living in Philippines temporarily and I see some effects of the economy also here but not as bad as in the US. Of course the Japanese also sell in the US so they are hurting too but since the Asian market is still some what stable they should pull through this and myself I won't be too surprised if some of the larger Japanese company's take over and buy out the US auto makers. Like something like Toyota buying out GM, I could see that happening if things got bad enough and it probably would be for the better too! The simple fact of the matter is the demand for cars will never go away since old cars wear out so eventually they need to be replaced no matter what.

To the Gripper: I have had lots of experience with domestic cars having owned nearly 30 of them and also working in a Ford dealer and in a transmission shop and in several autobody shops. The fact is 90% of American cars are complete junk! They are getting worse all the time, why do people always trust new car reviews? Time is what proves the quality of a vehicle. Ford's are actually the worst, their diesel trucks are beyond junk having junk engines and transmissions and they have a class action suit against them as of current for the defective transmissions they put in every Taurus and Sable ever built. I owned a 99 Taurus with low miles and it literally fell apart and cost me a small fortune. Did you think the Aerostar's or Windstars were good? They were both the biggest lemons to ever hit the road too! Then there is GM who has put a weak tranny in their half ton trucks for over 20 years now and over rated it's towing capacity. And then Dodge with their Caravan's with their junk transmissions. Again GM with their failing head gaskets on pretty much every model of vehicle they made since 1995, Sunfire, Venture, Grand AM to name a few....... Do a little research before you speck and no I'm not saying that all foreign cars are perfect either but they are a step up from an American car for the most part.

How are solar cars good for the environment and society?

car oil info on Gear Propulsion Solar Car
car oil info image

NickelPlat

Society as in people
Environment as in nature, etc.
I need a lot of info and new info. If it's already on one of the answers, I don't want it again.

Answer
Well, for one, they don't use up fossil fuels that are harmful to the earth and your wallet. Secondly, although they may be a bit costly, they are more efficient in ways that they can run better, they are easier to manage and afford as you drive rather than using hefty gas prices, and they use natural resources (the sun...) for solar panels to provide better usage for the vehicle. If fossil fuels are used, that can create smog, it contributes to the destroying of the ozone layer, and can help cause global warming. Whereas, solar cars only use natural stuff (the sun) that could never run out for the time being. it's also much healthier to use the sun's energy. It may be expensive at first, but then as you go along with it you'll find out that you save ALOT of money rather blowing it all on gas for the car (oil; fossil fuels.)

what is the difference between Snow blower oil and car motor oil?

Ryan

what is the difference between "5W-30 4 cycle snow blower oil" or just plain old"SAE motor oil 5W-30"
is the 4 cycle oil better for air cooled engines? or do they just bottle the same stuff as engine oil and charge you more for the label? does it really matter?

Answer
World of difference. Look a little closer at the label and you will see grading letters that go beyond simple weight numbers. These letters are the key to understanding the makeup of the oil. Most dullards never give it a look but you are a thinking man. I'll bet that snow-blower oil is API SD or SE. link below will give you the real info.

sorry, no kit car, but lots of parts

Here are some specs http://boxwrench.net/specs/ford_289_302-5.0.htm
the only engines that will fit in the early Mustangs (65 and 66) are the 302,289,260,250,200,170 because of the narrow engine bay created from the coil towers.

Actually they all came out in the 65/66 Mustang except the 302 and 250 which came out in 68/69 Horse power ranged from 120 in the six to 271 in the eight.

How to charge with a car charger in a house?

jenjen;

I just found my old nintendo ds, and I wanna see if it still works and stuff, but I can only find the car charger, not the actual outlet charger. Is there a way I can charge it in my house using the car charger somehow?

Answer
Well it would be cheaper if you just charge the unit in your car. But that wasn't your question was it. Well if I wanted to get that job done,I would simply Go to your nearest radio shack buy yourself a cheap transformer 110volt to 12v with a 3 amp output it may will cost about 10 to 20 dollars some models even come with a 12v plug right on the front of it ready to go. Now if you had some knowledge in electronics you could check you specs. on the nintendo ds for charger volts and amps and look around the house or garage for a smaller transformer like one from old answering machine cordless phone or a broken laptop computer a lot of those items work with a 12v transformer it's the little black box that plugs into the wall outlet and try to match the nintendo ds specs and then go from there..But please don't do this unless you have the knowledge in the field of electronics repair you could get hurt or damage your game unit or even a fire not good. Hopefully this info will help you out if so great have some fun,

You claim government backed health insurance is not a takeover?

fox 4 news car accident on Jackass star Ryan Dunn dies in car crash - Worldnews.com
fox 4 news car accident image

Who's Jon

Please explain this away: http://money.cnn.com/2009/07/24/news/economy/health_care_reform_obama.fortune/index.htm?postversion=2009072410

1. the feds can mandate what is in your private insurance package

The bills in both houses require that Americans purchase insurance through "qualified" plans offered by health-care "exchanges" that would be set up in each state. The rub is that the plans can't really compete based on what they offer. The reason: The federal government will impose a minimum list of benefits that each plan is required to offer.

2. no more discounts for clean living

Under the Senate plan, insurers would be barred from charging any more than twice as much for one patient vs. any other patient with the same coverage. So if a 20-year-old who costs just $800 a year to insure is forced to pay $2,500, a 62-year-old who costs $7,500 would pay no more than $5,000.

Second, the bills would ban insurers from charging differing premiums based on the health of their customers. Again, that's understandable for folks with diabetes or cancer. But the bills would bar rewarding people who pursue a healthy lifestyle of exercise or a cholesterol-conscious diet. That's hardly a formula for lower costs. It's as if car insurers had to charge the same rates to safe drivers as to chronic speeders with a history of accidents.

3.the bill eliminates HSA accounts

The bills seriously endanger the trend toward consumer-driven care in general. By requiring minimum packages, they would prevent patients from choosing stripped-down plans that cover only major medical expenses. "The government could set extremely low deductibles that would eliminate HSAs," says John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis, a free-market research group. "And they could do it after the bills are passed."

4. you can keep your existing health plan, it's a lie folks.

The employees who got their coverage before the law goes into effect can keep their plans, but once again, there's a catch. If the plan changes in any way -- by altering co-pays, deductibles, or even switching coverage for this or that drug -- the employee must drop out and shop through the exchange. Since these plans generally change their policies every year, it's likely that millions of employees will lose their plans in 12 months.

5. free to keep your doctors...

The Senate bill requires that Americans buying through the exchanges -- and as we've seen, that will soon be most Americans -- must get their care through something called "medical home." Medical home is similar to an HMO. You're assigned a primary care doctor, and the doctor controls your access to specialists. The primary care physicians will decide which services, like MRIs and other diagnostic scans, are best for you, and will decide when you really need to see a cardiologists or orthopedists.

CNN is my source, not FOX or FAUX or whatever you like to call it. Let the contortions begin!

This is a 1000 page bill, so no, I have not read it. But noone voting on it or desparate to sign it has read it either I dare say. How can you trust a 1000 pages of legalese to be in your best interest?

Answer
If only people could relate what happened to our educational system after the govt installed the Dept of Education to the complete takeover of health care, many eyes would be opened to the dangers.

And to think... the Dept of Education only meddled in the private markets' affairs on a smaller scale, and look at what it did.

Obamacare will wreck our economy without a doubt.

What if Republicans created their own version of OWS and began breaking windows...?

...and rioting in front of welfare offices, teacher's unions, government union worker halls, etc., to draw attention to what the democrats have been doing to America for a century?

Democrat President Wilson (1913-1918) said, âYou are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.â He may have been the first democrat to appreciate the potential use of multiculturalism (âIf itâs white or American, trash it!â) in deconstructing the Constitution, saying, âNo nation is fit to sit in judgment upon any other nation.â Obama put it this way: âEvery nation is exceptional in its own way.â

Democrat President Roosevelt âlet it all hang outâ in his speech before Congress on January 11, 1944:
âWe have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights...â [which included]:
-The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation
-The right of every family to a decent home
-The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health
-The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment.

LBJâs Great Society became the largest redistribution of wealth program in our history. Obama is trying to âoutperformâ LBJ.

Because of the Internet, talk radio and Fox News (all non-existent a generation ago!) today we know that democrats have been gradually changing America into a European style welfare state.
-2/4/10 Gallup poll: 61% of liberals have a positive view of socialism.
-6/2/11 Gallup poll: 71% of democrats favor re-distributing wealth.
-Now they have national health care, the foundation of all welfare states.

Who are the winners in this âchangeâ? It looks like the politicians who are in bed with the unions:

http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php⦠Top All-Time Donors, 1989-2012:
-Of the top twenty political contributors between 1989 and 2012 twelve are unions; they give less than 5% to Republicans; only six of those top twenty are corporations who gave about 40% to democrats (Goldman Sachs gave 56% of its cash to democrats).
-The NEA (âteachersâ union) gave $43,613,263: 71% went to democrats, 5% to Republicans.
-The AFT (âteachersâ union) gave $34,698,466: 86% went to democrats, 0% to Republicans.
-The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees gave $61,610,080: 73% went to democrats, 0% to Republicans.

10/21/10 Wall Street Journal: The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is now the biggest outside spender of the 2010 elections. It gave 0% to Republicans between 1989 and 2012.

And what do the unions get in âpay backâ?

8/13/10 USA Today: The compensation gap between federal and private workers has doubled in the past decade. Federal civil servants earned average pay and benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

7/8/11 U. S. News Report (usnews.com): The actual number of private sector jobs decreased since 2008. Government jobs increased.

-6/8/12 Investors Business Daily: âPrivate-sector jobs are still down by 4.6 million, or 4%, from January 2008, when overall employment peaked. Meanwhile government jobs are down just 407,000, or 1.8%.â

3/31/10, postalemployeenetwork.com: âPostmaster Potter has made headway in reducing work hours and the costs of benefits and pensions, but the average postal employee still makes $83,000 in salary and benefits a year, placing postal workers among the highest-paid government employees.â

6/11/12 Cato Institute (http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/obama-vs-: ...teacher employment has exploded; the public school workforce has grown 11 times faster than student enrollment over the last 40 years; on a per pupil basis, the inflation-adjusted average cost of a K-12 education has gone from about $55,000 to about $150,000.â

8/15/12 USA Today/Gannet:
-21,000+ retired federal workers receive lifetime government pensions of $100,000+.
-Economist Veronique de Rugy (Mercatus Center): Average federal pensions, $32,824; state and local government pensions, $24,373; military, $22,492; ExxonMobilExxon Corporation (one of the best remaining private pensions), $18,250.
-Pension payments cost $70 billion last year, plus $13 billion for retiree health care. Taxpayers face a future $2 trillion unfunded liability to cover those programs...

And, as though thatâs not enough for you to show Obama the door:

-Google search Obama saying, âUnder my plan, energy prices would necessarily skyrocket.â (9/08).
-6/8/11 U. S. News: âTwo new EPA pollution regulations will slam the coal industry so hard that hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost, and electric rates will skyrocket 11% to over 23%...â

Democrats can run, but you canât hide.

Can anyone explain how to remove an engine and a transmission from a vehicle?

I would like to know if anyone knows of any websites with detailed info (step by step) on how to remove an engine and transmission WITH PICTURES of each step. I need to remove engines and transmissions from both Japanese and American cars. This would help me so much if anyone knew. Thanks a lot!

Is it possible to request a car model to be built from a Car dealership ?

Kurlay T

Well, Ive always wanted to get a Toyota AE86 Trueno, Ive wanted one with low km and a fresh brand new one. Im not sure if its possible to go to a toyota dealership and ask them to build me a BRAND NEW Toyota AE86 Trueno, If so please let me know with detailed info if possible, and how much it'd cost for a brand new Toyota AE86 with steering on the left side. THANKS~!

Answer
Yes...but don't expect them to keep from laughing while you shuffle out the door in embarrassment.

In truth, there is no way a company such as Toyota could build an older model that they've stopped selling. They've either closed the plant or are building something else in it. It's like calling McDonalds and asking them to make you a McRib.

Now if you could instead find a used one, it would be possible to have it rebuilt with a fresh engine and converted to left hand drive. Of course, it would be too hard to determine a price for that.

Answer

I have a 1996 civic lx and i would like to improve airflow when i race this weekend and i can't find any info on taking the same one off and putting it back on. Please let me know if it will work. Thanks
its a 5 speed not an automatic and yes its on the track.

Answer
when you say race, I hope you mean you're taking it to the track. None the less, a civic LX won't beat...anything.

If you take off your exhaust right after the header (Before the Cat), you will loose all your back pressure and therefore lose a noticable amount of power. If you take it off after the cat, you won't gain any power at all - it'll just be obnoxiously loud - but not loud enough to drown out the crowd yelling "ricer" at you. Keep it the way it is.

But seriously, if you're going to be racing a stock automatic civic lx in any fashion (again, i hope you're doing it the legal route), I'd recommend just watching other people, unless you just want to figure out where you need to improve on your driver skill. I wouldn't expect to beat anything in that car.

I'm selling my car due to our 3rd baby on the way and need to upgrade to vehicle with third row seating. I have a buyer interested in taking over my lease instead of purchasing my vehicle (its leased and lease isn't up until 2012) I discussed how to sell it with GM but never how to do a lease take over. Can someone please tell me so I don't have to bother my dealership just yet? What fees are there etc

Answer
Call GMAC (now known as ALLY) 1-888.925.2559 They will advise the details. there is a $250?? lease transfer fee and the will have to approve the transfer. The good news is that GMAC will formally transfer a lease and recognize the new lessee. Unless this has changed with their new owners ALLY? I did get GMAC to approve a lease transfer back in 2009.
good luck

Solar panels windmills and children battery cars are not the answer

The oil producers already have under lease 68 million acres where they have not begun to drill for oil. Demand is down and they have reduced production to raise the prices again.

Would you get your 15 year old a brand new VW bug?

My friend is 15, she doesn't have her permit (that I know of, we haven't spoken in a while), and she doesn't have a job to even pay for gas or insurance. Would you get your 15 year old a new car much less one in her situation? Just curious, I wouldn't. And I'm not - I have my dad's old '95 Buick & we share.
* You may have a permit at 15 - meaning you can drive in the car with an adult under certain restrictions and during certain hours.

Answer
Heck no. It's a well known fact that most kids wreck their first car, at the least have a minor accident in it. Why buy a beautiful new car just to have it damaged?

For the record, my first accident was at 16, I backed into another car in the school parking lot. Oops. My mom was livid. My dad, very understanding. He bought me reeses peanut butter cups to cheer me up. Thankfully, it was mom's car, not new, and not in the greatest of shape. The best news was, a few months later, she put a bigger ding in it than I had! lol

What vehicle should I buy that has good safety ratings and great MPG?

Nikki

I'm looking to buy a safe car, preferably a sedan (cheaper for insurance), that also gets great gas mileage. Under 70,000 miles; used. Color doesn't matter, preferably not purple though:) If anyone has any ideas of what car I should look into or has a car similar to what I'm looking for that wants to sell, please let me know.

Thank you!!

Answer
One of the best all around cars is the Subaru Impressa (non-turbo), also by the way Honda Fit, VW Rabbit, Mazda 3 and the Mazda Protege.
If you want a little bigger car Ford Fusion, Mazda 6 and the Mercury Milan.
Now I have not included the Toyota models that made the list of many reasons, the edition of Consumers Reports that has this list was published before a lot of the news came out.

I have had an issue with my car overheating and replaced the water pump as of 9/23/05, but now I am getting the indication that the car is overheating again and I just can not afford to have the mechanic service it. I know the part is not expensive but the labor is just too much.

What is a good online forum for Muscle Cars?

Mike Hawk

I have a 67 Impala that I am in the process of restoring and I'm having trouble finding a good online forum for old Chevy's that will give me advice and answer questions about my restoration.

Answer
try typing 67 impala iinformation and or parts ? in your web search box and see if that goies anywhere, I know there are all kinds of stuff somewhere, I never had an impala long enough to look for any parts any way, but here is a couple of websites that may be of some help, Try hemmings motor news www.hemmings.com this is an online magazine that has world wide roots in the car lovers world, and this is where I would go first, and start digging around, there are hundreds of links in hemmings motor news for car related anything another magazine for cars, or maybe parts is auto trader classics. A online web site for parts may be year one, they should have almost every part for sale, they specialaize in a complete line of better than original car parts, first class, not cheap, but unrivaled fit and finnish. You can buy a complete car, and put it together, for 35, grand or something. but it can be done. including frames apparently. I typed 67 Impala cars and parts? in my web search box, and got over 9,000 hits, so I know there are lots of people claiming to have parts, I have never done business with any of them so good luck and the money now is in the big blocks it can add as much as 40 percent of the price of an original big block car, and a well built 454 would sure be a whole lot of tire smoking fun down the road someday!!!

how do i become a car expert?

Q. By cars i mean sports cars: exotics, tuners, super cars. I'm currently 15 but as a kid from 4-7 years and again 9 i was obsessed with car makes and i knew the name of every car i saw. I always played games like NFS, Forza motorsport. My first racing game was Test Drive 6 when i was 4 years old. But now I want to know about the engineering of cars. And how to fix one up and what not. I am currently playing Forza Motorsport 4. What should i do to increase my knowledge in cars.
I don't live in a small town

Answer
Attend local car meets even if there nothing big, attend car shows and all those get talking to folks, but car mags and look up info on the net if you get the chance buy a cheap scrap car and strip it.

Games are a step to learn cars but if your not careful and i have seen friends whom play the games etc and feel they know all about cars and driving when they cannot even drive.

I have one lad whom keeps coming round my house to look around my Skyline and ask me questions. So do the same where you live if you see a car model that you like the look of.

Also go around car garages and see if they need help even passing parts or making tea after school and at weekends.

Preity Zinta (Hindi: पà¥à¤°à¥à¤¤à¤¿ à¤à¤¼à¤¿à¤à¤à¤¾, pronounced [ËpriËt̪i ËzɪɳÊaË]; born 31 January 1975)[1] is an Indian film actress. She has appeared in Hindi films of Bollywood, as well as Telugu, Punjabi and English language films. After graduating with a degree in criminal psychology, Zinta made her acting debut in Dil Se in 1998 followed by a role in Soldier the same year. These performances earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, and she was later recognised for her role as a teenage single mother in Kya Kehna (2000). She subsequently played a variety of character types; her film roles along with her screen persona contributed to a change in the concept of a Hindi film heroine.[2]

Zinta received a Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2003 for her performance in the drama Kal Ho Naa Ho. She went on to play the lead female role in two consecutive annual top-grossing films in India: the science fiction film Koi... Mil Gaya, her biggest commercial success,[3] and the star-crossed romance Veer-Zaara, which earned her critical acclaim. She was later noted for her portrayal of independent, modern Indian women in Salaam Namaste and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, top-grossing productions in overseas markets.[4] These accomplishments have established her as a leading actress of Hindi cinema.[5][6] Her first international film role was in the Canadian film Heaven on Earth, for which she was awarded the Silver Hugo Award for Best Actress at the 2008 Chicago International Film Festival.[7]

In addition to movie acting, Zinta has written a series of columns for BBC News Online South Asia, is a social activist, a television presenter, and a regular stage performer. She is the founder of the production company PZNZ Media and, along with ex-boyfriend Ness Wadia, a co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kings XI Punjab. She is known in the Indian media for publicly speaking her mind and openly expressing her opinions, and consequently has sparked the occasional controversy.[8][9] These controversies include her being the only witness not to retract in court her earlier statements against the Indian mafia during the 2003 Bharat Shah case, for which she was awarded the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award.

Early life and background

Zinta was born into a Hindu Rajput family from Rohru in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh.[1] Her father, Durganand Zinta, was an officer in the Indian Army.[10] He died in a car accident when she was 13 years old; the accident also involved her mother, Nilprabha, who was severely injured and consequently remained bedridden for two years. Zinta called the tragic accident and her father's death a significant turning point in her life, which forced her to mature rapidly.[11] She has two brothers; Deepankar and Manish, a year older and a year younger respectively. Deepankar is a commissioned officer in the Indian Army, while Manish lives in California.[12]

Zinta, who describes herself as a tomboy as a child, has emphasised her father's military background as having a lasting impression on how family life was conducted. He asserted the importance of discipline and punctuality to the children.[13] She studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary boarding school in Shimla. Although she confesses to loneliness in the boarding school, she noted that it was compensated by her finding a "... perfect set of friends" there.[10][14] As a student, she developed a love for literature, particularly the works of William Shakespeare and poetry.[10] According to Zinta, she enjoyed schoolwork and received good grades; in her free time she played sports, especially basketball.[11]

Upon graduating from the boarding school at age 18, Zinta enrolled at St Bede's College in Shimla. She graduated college with an English honours degree, and then started a graduate programme in psychology.[15] She earned a postgraduate degree in criminal psychology, but later took up modelling.[10] Zinta's first television commercial was for Perk chocolates, the result of a chance meeting with a director at a friend's birthday party in 1996.[10] The director persuaded Zinta to audition for the spot, and she was selected. Afterwards, she appeared in other catalogues and commercials, including one for the soap Liril.[11][15]

Why does media publicize school shootings? It's wrong.?

EJ

I think that the media is guilty as the person who does the crime. It only gives other sicko's the idea to go and do the same thing. I feel so bad about the people who lost their lives. Also should guns be banned that are assault style weapons?

Answer
Guns don't kill people; movies kill people:

Today the data linking violence in the media to violence in society are superior to those linking cancer and tobaccoâ¦â¦..

http://www.psychology.iastate.edu/faculty/caa/abstracts/2000-2004/01BA.ap.pdf

a study by AACAP found that as a result of TV violence, children may: become immune to the horror of violence; gradually accept violence as a way to solve problems; imitate violence they observe on television; and identify with certain characters, victims, or victimizers.
according to a University of Michigan study men and women who watched the most violent TV shows as youngsters turned out to be the most violence-prone, even 15 years later.

The Evidence Against Media Violence

http://www.bluecorncomics.com/grossman.htm

Humorist Steve Allen formed the Parents Television Council to stop TV from "leading children down a moral sewer."
* Since television started around 1000 studies, reports, etc. concerning the impact of TV violence have been published.
* The National Institute of Mental Health and 7 more national organizations say there is overwhelming evidence that violent entertainment causes violent behavior.
* An ABC network study found 22 to 34 percent of young felons imprisoned for violent crimes said they had consciously imitated crime techniques learned from watching television programs.
* Homicide rates doubled in 10 to 15 years after TV was first introduced into specific ares of the U.S. and Canada.
* In a survey of 10 to 16-year-olds, 62 percent said sex on TV influences their peers to have sex when they're too young.

Gun FACTS that cant be disputed:

http://www.gunfacts.info/pdfs/gun-facts/6.1/gun_facts_6_1_screen.pdf

because of the 'banning guns' ideology thats running rampant, the only news that gets blown up and makes constant headlines, is a crime committed with a gun.
yetâ¦..who speaks out for over 7 million young children that live a life of child abuse, incest, and torture?? their little life is a hell on earth because of ALCOHOL!

Who claims 50 times more lives than all the illegal drugs combined? Who costs the American people 130 billion dollars every year to mop up it's bloodbath of human slaughter? Who destroys 1 in every 4 families in America? Who kills over 200,000 Americans each year? Is it crack? Is it cocaine? Could it be heroin? Is it guns? No, the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and number one killer of Americans is KING ALCOHOL.......

where are the news media HEADLINES?
* There are over 18 million alcoholics in America.
* Cirrhosis of the liver kills over 30,000 each year and rising.
* 50 percent of the people on welfare are due to killer alcohol.
* 80 percent of all fire deaths are due to killer alcohol.
* 65 percent of the drownings
* 22 percent of home accidents
* 77 percent of falls
* 36 percent of pedestrian accidents
* 65 percent of all murders
* 40 percent of all assaults
* 35 percent of all rapes
* 30 percent of other sex crimes
* 30 percent of all suicides
* Over 80 percent of all arrests are linked to killer alcohol!

And one of the most disturbing statistics of all - 60 PERCENT OF ALL CHILD ABUSE IS DUE TO ALCOHOL!

â¦â¦..nobody dares utter a peep?

The alcohol industry spends over 400 million dollars a year advertising and glorifying the killer! By age 18, American children on an average, have seen an estimated 100,000 beer commercials! They innocently watch as their favorite heros glamorize and glorify killer alcohol.

every single day -

at least 10 young people die because SOMEONE is drinking alcohol!

â¦â¦..nobody dares utter a peep?
Alcohol is turning our highways into rivers of blood and our interstates into a slaughterhouse! On the average, every 50th car you see is powered by a drunk driver on their way to murder an innocent victim! Nearly 700 a week will be killed, 100 a day, nearly 5 an hourâ¦â¦â¦.
every 12 minutes somebody is killed by a drunk driver!
