How do you respond when car dealers say KBB and Edmunds are just guides?

I'm trying to negotiate a used car deal, and it seems every car dealer in my area prices their cars significantly higher than KBB or Edmunds. When I bring up them, they say those are just guides and don't mean anything. What am I supposed to say to that to get them closer to their values? I mean KBB and Edmunds aren't based on nothing. That's what most people base their negotiations on.

Answer
KBB, Edmunds, and NADA guides do more to muddy up the waters than any other info source out there. Yes, they are guides, and that is all.

We have a saying in the car business - If you want that price, Call Mr. Kelly and see if he will sell it to you.

The problems with those guides is they do not reflect accurately the local markets, or adapt quickly to changing conditions. They give averages based on past sales, but those averages may change dramatically before the guides can update.

Example - Cash for Clunkers took a lot of cheap cars off the road. A car that used to be $2000 at auction is now upwards of $3000. Cheap cars are hard to get and dealers are paying a premium for them so they have something to sell. But KBB would never know that. Or when they do, it'll be about 3 months form now when things have adjusted agian.

Heres another example - Right now, in Lake Tahoe they are getting snow like crazy. If you have a used Subaru or 4wd truck, you can name your price. There will be a vast difference in the price of an Imprezza in Tahoe, as compared to one in Arizona. But looking at KBB you would never know it.

Use the guides as just that, guides. Do your own market research. Looka t autotrader or your local advertisements to see what the averages are on the car you are interested in.

Ultimately, the best deal is one where you and the seller agree on a price that is fair for both of you, and a transaction is conducted. Everything else is just practice.

What can i do if i bought a car from another state and had it delivered but never recieved it?

Dewayne Ma

A family member of mines bought two cars from this car dealer,I told him to find me a car at a certain price and he did and sent me the info on the car so I got approved for a car loan from my bank, and I gave him the check to purchase the car and he supposedly did and had it delivered I asked him and he said it takes no more then a month to have it delivered from California to Washington dc.Its been over a month and I still haven't received my car and ive already paid one car note and about to pay a second one and I don't have a car yet.I called my bank and they said once you give them the check and they deposit it there nothing the bank can do,Any help on what I should do next?

Answer
It sounds like someone is not being honest with you. You have probably been scammed. You should call whoever you gave the money to and find out what is gong on. You should start tracking people down and tracking the car down. You should find out if the check has been cashed or deposited yet. If it hasn't then I would cancel it. Somehow, you have g to get to the bottom of this and get your check back r get your car.

You see and hear horrible things on the news and in magazines about how abused women and children in these countries are. Does anyone have anything to add?

Answer
lemme gve u my inetrpretation being a muslim teenager stayin in one of da midd east country. it depends on wat middle east country ur talkin abt. SA is a highly conservative country coz its holy but they hve recently allowed women 2 vote. if u visit oder countries like dubai, qatar, bahrain, kuwait etc women are a part of developing the country n seen as role models 4 da aspiring teenagers.

Current statistics underscore the significant improvement and the remarkable expansion of educational opportunities at all levels for Arab women in the last two decades. A new born girl in the Arab world today has much better chance than her mother to attend school and finish college. Arab governments are committed and determined to augment educational opportunities and to make them accessible to all eligible women. It is firmly believed that without emancipating women from the bondage of illiteracy no real political, social or economic development can take place.
Many Arab women already have distinguished themselves as poets, novelists, teachers, physicians, chemists, physicists, engineers, doctors, judges, lawyers, journalists, and Cabinet members.
Female genital mutilation is still practised in certain pockets of Africa and Egypt, but viewed as an inconceivable horror by the vast majority of Muslims.Plus its cultural not religious. Forced marriages may still take place in certain Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities, but would be anathema to Muslim women from other backgrounds. A woman forbidden from driving a car in Riyadh will cheerfully take the wheel when abroad, confident that her country's bizarre law has nothing to do with Islam. Afghan women educated before the Taliban rule know that banning girls from school is forbidden in Islam, which encourages all Muslims to seek knowledge from cradle to grave, from every source possible.

Yes, i agree der r places like afganistan, iraq etc where women are abused and their rights r snatched away 4m em but dat doesnt happen everywhere. my rites r not taken away 4m me nor kids n women r being abused here.

women have the right to own property, to choose their own partners, and have equal rights to education. In accordance with prevailing culture, these rights became transformed into the duties of women to take care of children and remain in the house. This is not all that different than a century ago in America where women were expected the duties of "Republican Motherhood," which did not take them beyond the household sphere.
It is not Muslim women as such, but women everywhere who have been imprisoned by prejudice and cruelty.

I need a source to learn about Syria civil war?

Chester b

I consider myself a very knowledgable guy and I try to stay current with world news, but I have had an extremely hard time when it comes to what's going on in Syria. I have read some conflicting articles and I realize every news source has its bias. I just want to know what's really going on. Thank you in advance.

Answer
The current conflict in Syria has nothing to do with "freedom" or "democracy", it is driven entirely by the geopolitical aspirations of the United States and its middle eastern allies.

The US has wanted to overthrow the Syrian government for a long time, and not because of any "humanitarian" concerns, but because of Syria's opposition to American regional interests, its long-time hostility towards the apartheid state of Israel, its support for resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon, and its alliance with major geopolitical enemies of the US, such as Russia, China and Iran. By destroying Syria the US hopes to break apart the Iran-Syria-Hezbollah axis and get closer to establishing total hegemony in the middle east.

America's regional allies, namely the totalitarian Sunni monarchies of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, are diametrically opposed to the Shia-led governments of Syria and Iran, and want to destroy them not only for political reasons but also to spread their own influence by exporting their brand of extreme religious ideology (wahhabism).

The US government has admittedly made plans decades ago to carry out regime change in Syria. In fact, it is documented that the US government has given money and weapons to sectarian anti-government terrorists in Syria and provided training to so-called Syrian "activists" BEFORE the start of the current "uprising". (http://bit.ly/KmkQF3)

The so-called "Free Syrian Army" are nothing but a collection of Sunni extremists and Islamist militants from all over the middle east hired to fight as a proxy army on behalf of the United States, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and to accomplish their geopolitical goals. The majority of the FSA are not Syrians; most come from Afghanistan, Chechnya, Libya, the Gulf states, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and elsewhere. Many of them are jihadists and terrorists directly linked to Al-Qaeda and other salafi terror groups, including Jabhat al-Nusra (Al-Qaeda in Syria) and the Muslim Brotherhood.

These terrorist groups, which later named themselves the "Free Syrian Army", are the ones who have been causing the violence in Syria since the very beginning. In April 2011 there was a peaceful protest movement calling for reforms within the government, but it was quickly hijacked by the FSA and turned into a violent insurgency. The FSA do not care about freedom, democracy or reforms. It was their goal from the beginning to hijack the legitimate Syrian opposition and start a civil war. They are terrorists motivated solely by sectarian hatred, and they have openly expressed their desire to establish an Islamic state in Syria.

For the past year and a half Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been supplying them with money, weapons and fighters. In April 2011 journalists witnessed armed militants crossing into Syria across the Lebanese border. Every day Syrian security forces find foreign passports on dead FSA fighters as well as shipments of foreign equipment and advanced weaponry in FSA stockpiles.

In the first weeks of the "peaceful uprising", terrorists began murdering dozens of Syrian soldiers, mercenary snipers shot civilians and security forces in cities, armed men provoked violence by shooting at policemen from inside crowds, and Saudi-funded extremist preachers in Mosques incited uneducated Sunni youths to riot, burn police stations and commit sectarian violence, forcing the hand of the Syrian government into what the western media has called a "crackdown".

Since then the "Free Syrian Army" terrorists have killed at least 20,000 people, and have kidnapped and tortured thousands more. They are blowing up government buildings, sabotaging infrastructure, setting off car bombs in residential areas, destroying and terrorizing neighborhoods, forcing tens of thousands of people to flee their homes, destroying mosques and churches, committing massacres, murdering anyone whom they suspect of supporting the government, or anyone who has different beliefs than them (Alawites, Christians, Shiites and moderate Sunnis).

Most "news reports" about Syria shown on CNN/BBC/Al-Jazeera are stories and rumors that are taken directly from anonymous "activists" and Syrian opposition sources without any verification whatsoever. Most of the reports turn out to be completely false, and many times the sources aren't even Syrian.

For example, the "Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" quoted often in the media actually consists of one man in a London apartment

What would it take for a cop to abandon a traffic stop to catch a different driver?

rondoggnut

I am not arguing that my assumptions are correct. But it seems to make sense, to me. When a cop is in the middle of a traffic stop, would he abandon it to catch a different traffic violation? What type of violation would motivate this? Speeding? Unlikely. But what about if he witnessed someone blow through a red light? Would he pursue it then?

========================================================================
EXTRA INFO, FEEL FREE TO IGNORE

In 17 years driving, I have always kinda chuckled at people who slow down when they see blue lights at a traffic stop, as if they are more likely to get stopped. I've always seen the opposite: the cop is most likely busy with the current stop, unless it's ending, so you should have a BETTER chance to get away with it, no? Especially on the freeway, it's probable that only one patrol car is in the area, so it seems safe to assume that one can speed freely, no?

But even on your standard 35 mph road, I tend to think that very few things would motivate the officer to abandon his current traffic stop. Particularly with speeding, I find it very unlikely that another cop is assisting in an operation. It's certainly possible, but in many cases like tonight, it's midnight and the roads are clear. So, as long as the current stop isn't wrapping up, it should be perfectly safe to violate most traffic laws, no?

I took it a step further tonight. A traffic stop was in progress about 100 ft from the next intersection. The light turned yellow as I approached it, but I knew I would definitely not make it in time. I was right, because it turned red when I was about 20 ft from the stop line.

The funny thing is that I would have stopped if the cops WASN'T there, on the basis that he would have to witness it, and then abandon his current stop, just to get me instead. My reasoning is that he likely won't even pay attention to trivial things like that, particularly because he THINKS that no one is brazen enough to do it. But supposing he DOES witness it, would he pursue it? A near miss? Sure. But on the basis of boldness? I can't envision it? Another possibility is he can simply tell the first driver to stay put, then go after me and come back to the first driver. Is that even possible? It's not like he can order me to follow him to his first stop. I wouldn't comply if he tried anyway.

To top it off, two intersections away is my left turn. But because I knew that at least one cop was preoccupied, I went ahead and ignored the red light, instead making sure that no one was nearby (both cars and pedestrians). In fact, I'm so confident that my analysis is accurate, that I did all of this while under the influence of alcohol. Not excessively, but there's a good chance I was over the limit, though a cop would never get a sample from me unless he arrested me. An unlikely occurence because my actions hardly constitute probable cause for DUI.

In fact, I've been pulled over 4 times in my life (for equipment violations, and once, 30 in a 25), and I readily admitted to drinking all 4 times. I submitted to HGN all 4 times, but was never asked for more. Which is fitting, because I would refuse all other tests anyway, including the roadside breath test. Instead, I was free to go, and I tested my BAC at home after 2 of the 4 stops, and got 0.18 and 0.22%. Alcoholic? Certainly. But dangerous? No, according to the professional judgment of 7 officers.

I pulled over 4 times, but I was lit up 5 times. The fifth was when I *safely* blew a stop sign in a residential area, and I saw him too late. But due to the fact that it wasn't unsafe, I decided to ignore him, instead hiding on the LEFT side of the next cul-de-sac. Sirens blaring, a homeowner came out, so I fled the scene about 2 minutes later, NOT going back to the scene of the "crime." My heart was racing for about a week after, because I just committed a felony. But in the end, I did the absolute most virtuous thing I could. I wasn't unsafe, so I didn't morally deserve to pay for it, even though the law requires that I do.

I'm sure that nearly everyone disapproves, but it doesn't prove that I was unsafe. Likewise, not everyone is being unsafe when they break certain laws. And don't even try the "slippery slope" argument, as if I will gradually get worse and worse. My driving and criminal records are spotless, btw.

Answer
Officers on my department average two warnings for every citation. If an officer is on a stop and in the process of giving a warning and sees something that would warrant a citation, he would certainly abandon the warning in favor of the more dangerous driving that would result in a citation.

As far as your personal history, I suspect your luck is due to change. Especially since refusal to do field sobriety is probable cause for arrest.

As far as your self administered test for BAC, I would certainly be interested on how those tests were performed.

@Uncommon Sense Dude in this economy, I don't think it matters if the car is boring to drive or not because my car essentially saves a lot of gas, believe me. Gas prices are just too high these days.

Answer
Consider visiting New Orleans!

NOLA is one of the world's special places with an ambience unique in North America, and remains so even after Katrina devastated it in 2005.

Katrina flooded about 80% of New Orleans with salt water, and the water stayed for almost a month. Much of the city is still struggling to recover and all you have to do to see devastation is drive around. It will take years for NOLA to fully recover from Katrina.

However, the parts of the city that tourists usually visit were not flooded. It's not a coincidence - the French Quarter and other old parts of the city were built on relatively high ground and only suffered wind damage from Katrina. Almost all of the damage has been repaired and you have to look closely in the FQ and city center to see that Katrina happened at all. You should visit and see for yourself.

Note that the City of New Orleans is only part of the greater New Orleans area. The GNO area had a population of about 1,400,000 before Katrina and is estimated at about 1,200,000 now (July, 2007). The absent 200,000 are mostly from the City of New Orleans and the parishes of Plaquemines and Saint Bernard, which were the worst-flooded parts of the metro area. Jefferson Parish - juast to the west of the City - suffered relatively minor flooding and has fully recovered.

You can drink the water, the electricity & phones work, and services like the post office, hospitals, schools, and police/fire/EMS are operating. Restaurants, stores and shopping centers are open.

Municipal services like street cleaning & trash collection collapsed after Katrina. Those services were fully restored in late 2006 and it is no longer an issue.

I recommend staying in the French Quarter (Vieux Carre") if you can. There is a very wide range of selections available, from moderate guest houses to very exclusive "boutique" hotels. Search Yahoo Travel and Travelocity for ideas and also check the hotel websites. Go to www.frenchquarterhotels.com for some non-chain hotels.

You don't need a car to get around in the French Quarter, Central Business District, or Warehouse District. Also, the parking regulations are Byzantine and there are lots of Parking Control Agents. If you drive or rent a car, leave it in a lot or garage unless you are traveling away from downtown.

The regional transit authority (www.norta.com) sells 1 and 3 day passes that offer unlimited use of buses and streetcars for the day(s) you select. There are also lots of taxicabs.

Regarding crime, use the same common sense necessary in every major city in the world and there is little chance you will be a victim of anything except a need to visit the gym.

New Orleans has mild weather from late October to early May and the city stays green all year most years (rarely freezes and almost never snows). We pay for the mild winters with hot, humid summers â particularly in July & August. The good news for summertime visitors is that hotel rates are lower.

Things to do:

There are many sightseeing opportunities in the greater New Orleans area, including carriage rides/tours, plantation tours, swamp tours, ghost tours, and even Katrina disaster tours. The steamboat Natchez also does a harbor tour. There are numerous tour companies and your hotel can help with the arrangements. Try to avoid scheduling an outdoor tour until you know the weather forecast for the day in question.

The Saint Charles Streetcar is the oldest continuously operating street railway in the world and is a "tourist attraction" in its own right. It is part of the public transit system, as are the Canal Street and Riverfront streetcar lines: http://www.norta.com/

There is always music, but the bands change: Go to www.bestofneworleans.com and click on Music then Listings or to www.offbeat.com and click on Listings, then Music. Note that music clubs often advertise "No Cover", meaning there is no charge for entering. However, clubs with "No Cover" often require that customers buy a beverage each for every "set " of music (which can be every 20 minutes) so know the price before you sit down. The clubs do that because some people will sit in the club all evening drinking water or nothing. It is also a good idea to pay for each round of drinks (in clubs on Bourbon Street) as it s delivered so there can't be any confusion at the end of the evening.

About certain alcoholic beverages: Realize that some famous drinks are VERY potent compared with regular cocktails that have only 1 to 1 ½ ounces of alcohol. For example, a Hurricane is basically 3 or 4 ounces of rum in something like red Kool-Aid, and a Hand Grenade has at least 4 ½ ounces of Everclear + rum + vodka mixed with melon liquor. They donât necessarily taste like an alcoholic beverage and it is easy to over-indulge.

Wander around the French Quarter, enjoy the architecture, watch the street entertainers (do tip), and visit some of the historic buildings that have been turned into museums (go to www.frenchquarter.com and click on Historic Attractions).

Assuming the weather is good, you can collect a sandwich lunch and eat in the riverfront park (watch the shipping) or in Jackson Square (a very nice park).

The Riverwalk shopping center has an air-conditioned food court with dining overlooking the river (www.riverwalkmarketplace.com). The Canal Place shopping center is in the French Quarter and has a cinema and higher-end shopping (Saks 5th Avenue, Brooks Brothers, etc.)

The lobby for the Westin Canal Place Hotel is on the 11th floor and overlooks the French Quarter. It is a great place for an afternoon drink/snack:(www.westin.com).

Cafe du Monde is in the French Quarter and you shouldn't miss having cafe au lait & beignets (www.cafedumonde.com). Another great coffee shop is the Croissant d'Or (at 615 Ursulines Street), which is open from 7:00am to 2:00pm and has food in addition to pastry.

The Palm Court restaurant is very nice, has moderate prices, and traditional live jazz starting at 8:00pm: 1204 Decatur Street, tel 504-525-0200 (reservations are important and they are not open every day). The Palm Court is closed from about July 25th to about September 25th each year.

All of the famous restaurants (Antoine's, Arnaud's, Brennan's, Commander's Palace, etc.) have reopened. The Pelican Club (on Exchange Alley in the FQ) is not as well known but is the same type experience. Reservations are a good idea, and probably essential on weekends. Tujaques Restaurant (823 Decatur Street) is very traditional and has moderate prices: http://www.tujaguesrestaurant.com/

Cafe Degas is a very French restaurant near City Park at 3127 Esplanade - which is not within walking distance of downtown (5 to 10 minutes by taxi). They are closed on Mondays & Tuesdays (504-945-5635).

The Napoleon House restaurant is at 500 Chartres Street in the FQ, and has a menu of great local dishes: http://www.napoleonhouse.com/

Preservation Hall has traditional live Jazz, and doesnât serve alcohol so all ages are welcome: http://www.preservationhall.com/

There is a free ferry across the Mississippi at the "foot" of Canal Street. It is a short trip but like a harbor cruise w/o a guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/canal_street_ferry

The Aquarium and Audubon Zoo are world-class attractions (www.auduboninstitute.org) and you should see them if you can. The Zoo is several miles from downtown. You can drive to the Zoo (which has free parking) or take public transit from the French Quarter.

The Louisiana State Museum is in the French Quarter: http://lsm.crt.state.la.us/ New Orleans is also home to a number of other museums, such as the National World War II Museum (www.ddaymuseum.org) and the New Orleans Museum of Art (www.noma.org). Both can be reached by public transit: The WWII museum is in the central business district but a long walk from the French Quarter. NOMA is not within walking distance of downtown but has free parking. Go to http://www.neworleansmuseums.com/ for info on more museums.

Harrahâs Casino is in the Central Business District: http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/harrahs-new-orleans/hotel-casino/property-home.shtml

New Orleans City Park has an amusement park with rides and attractions for children + free parking (www.neworleanscitypark.com).

Check www.frenchquarter.com for ideas about other things to do.

Hope you have a great time, wherever you go!

Answer
A designer of women's accessories shot a business associate because he thought she had cheated him. The police shot him and eight other people.

Remember this the same police department that forced a car off the road with their unmarked van and then opened fire. One of the people killed was shot fiftyfour times meaning weapons had to be reloaded.

NYPD are not heroes to be admired. Like departments across the country, they are trying to pretend to be protecting the people and wrapping themselves in the bloody bandages of those killed through combined acts of stupidity on 9/11.

2012 Election Question on whose a truely a better candidate?

Carlos

Stating facts only, who is a better choice to vote for in the 2012 election? I don't want to hear opinions just fact on who will really do well for this country.

Answer
Well here are some undeniable facts which automatically make Romney a better candidate than obama if you believe in American values and the constitution just from looking at obamas record

1. He promised bipartisanship but walked away when republicans came to the table and agreed to compromise multiple times the he turned around and put the blame on them

2. He promised he'd never raise taxes but come January 1st 21 new taxes will be implemented

3. He wasted and spent 5 times amount of tax payer money than Bush or any other president in United States History in 3.5 years

4. He promised on camera to bankrupt coal companies and has succeeded which lead to more unemployment

5. He denied America 20,00+ jobs and cheaper gasoline and energy independence when he shot down the keystone pipeline

6. He broke the Constitution violating our Bill of rights. -examples: a. he broke our 1st amendment multiple times by forcing christian churches and hospitals provide abortion contraceptive or be fined until they go bankrupt which clearly violates and he blocked fox news from being able to cover the white house for his first two years in office which is a clear violation of the bill of right, freedom of religion and freedom of the press.

b. he passed an individual mandate and a fine if not purchased which violates our commerce clause

7. He tried to due away with our 2nd amendment right by proposing a back door deal with the united nations that would of banned guns and make every any citizen who owns a gun a felon but luckily with the support of the NRA it was stopped from happening

8. He slashed and continues to slash military funding causing a lot of my friends from receiving their benefits and forcing a dramatic downsize in military when we are still at war and on the brink of getting into to 2 new wars

10. He said " I don't take the navy seals seriously" and threw our allies under the bus multiple times

11. He said " If I don't fix this economy in 3 years I'll be a one term president and not run again" and he has made the economy worse by doing nothing but increase spending and adding obama care and blaming all his failures and problems on the republicans

12. He supported the occupy movement after there multiple incidents being reported of occupiers raping a 13 yr old girl, occupiers running over a pregnant woman, occupiers calling for anarchy and vandalizing public property and starting riots and even after two occupiers where caught by the FBI trying to blow a bridge and occupy wall streeters burned the American Flag on national t.v. he still stood behind them and supported their movement

13. He was the first to complain about super pacts and dirty campaigns yet he was the first to use them and his campaign is proven to be the dirtiest campaign in U.S. History

14. He promised to close Guantanamo but keeped it open

15. He promised to not use executive orders to be the most transparent yet he's numb 3 in using the most and he also used it to help the AG cover up the program Fast and Furious so no government official could be held responsible for the program that took the life of and American Border Patrol Agent

16. He gave the order to DHS to give to Border Patrol agents not to stop illegal immigrants or they will be fired and granted amnesty to illegals and helped put over 100,000 of them to work while every 1 out of 3 veterans are homeless

17. He bowed down to the Chinese and made Closed door deals with the Russians

18. He let his administration leak classified information multiple times to the new york times for political gain

19. He invested tax payer money into a failed green energy company and gave them $25,000 bonuses when they were going bankrupt and invested tax dollars in mass production for car that was to expensive to buy and was pulled off the market multiple times

20. Obama has been campaigning for re-election on tax payer money since his second year in office.

21. Obama has repeatedly blamed republicans for the economy even thought he denied and shot 8 budgets that republicans proposed and stopped one that both the house and the senate was going to pass because a republican came up with it.

22. Unemployment has been up 8.3% and higher for 43 months in a row.

23. Thanks to Obamas higher taxes and business regulations multiple businesses that were hiring stopped hiring and ended up going bankrupt.

24. Higher taxes for the rich won't do anything when over 63% of America is unemployed and when 70% of Americans aren't paying any taxes yet Obama keeps calling for them.

25. 5 days ago we were at 15trillion dollars in debt and now we are past 16.5 trillion in debt and started at 8 trillion and we are not even close to being better now than we were 4 years ago.

What is the Australian equivalent of a New Zealand full driver's licence?

I've just moved to Queensland, Australia and have my New Zealand full licence. I've held it for over 6 months and had a different licence for a year before that. Does anyone know what sort of licence I'll be transferred to over here in Aus?
Thanks.

Answer
Ok, if you have a NZ full drivers license you can just do a transfer over to a Qld one.

3 years ago Qld Transport changed the rules and exempted New Zealand license holders to resit a test, so good news on your part !

But ... when you go in, do the paperwork they will fax a request off to NZ Land and Transport for confirmation you do have a license. This isn't instant, you will have to go back in a day or two. (Yes I know, showing them your license is not enough!) Also take ALL your ID's with you, they are very picky. Also proof you live here, like rent receipts, lease, power bill in your name/address etc. If you don't have all this, they will turn you away.

They will transfer your license over to a Qld one on whatever you have in NZ. So if it's car, you will get the same here.

Did you hear the breaking news from Australia?

Alex, Celt

Ian Ferguson has been sacked from Perth Glory after adopting Rangers European tactics and having lost 5 games in a row and not scoring a single goal in over 6 hours of football. Ferguson has appealed the decision saying he wants to hear his sacking in English before accepting it. Ach well suppose Fergie will be back in Scotland soon selling second hand knocked off cars with his fellow neds.

Answer
I see you are keeping the Celtic tradition of telling pork pies alive in upside down land eck. Ferguson leaves the club by mutual consent.

Are Conservatives aware that there were at least 11 US embassy attacks under Bush?

The Equali

Probably not. Fox News didn't feed this information to the low-information bigots.

Further evidence that the Republican "outrage" is purely political.

And no, it wasn't the same the other way around. Democrats did not politicize the embassy attacks or try to attack Bush for them - before anyone tries a hand at the false equivalency card.

US Embassies & consulates attacked under Bush:

June 14, 2002, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Suicide bomber kills 12 and injures 51.

February 20, 2003, international diplomatic compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Truck bomb kills 17.

February 28, 2003, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Gunmen on motorcycles killed two consulate guards.

July 30, 2004, U.S. embassy in Taskkent, Uzbekistan
Suicide bomber kills two.

December 6, 2004, U.S. consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Militants stormed and occupied perimeter wall. Five killed, 10 wounded.

March 2, 2006, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan
Suicide car bomber killed four, including a U.S. diplomate directly targeted by the assailants.

September 12, 2006, U.S. embassy in Damascus, Syria
Gunmen attacked embassy with grenades, automatic weapons, and a car bomb (though second truck bomb failed to detonate). One killed and 13 wounded.

January 12, 2007, U.S. embassy in Athens, Greece
A rocket-propelled grenade was fired at the embassy building. No one was injured.

July 9, 2008, U.S. consulate in Istanbul, Turkey
Armed men attacked consulate with pistols and shotguns. Three policemen killed.

March 18, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen
Mortar attack misses embassy, hits nearby girls' school instead.

September 17, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen
Militants dressed as policemen attacked the embassy with RPGs, rifles, grenades and car bombs. Six Yemeni soldiers and seven civilians were killed. Sixteen more were injured.

The University of Maryland database also lists 64 attacks on American diplomatic targets during the George W. Bush administration, including car bombs at the US embassy in Yemen and armed attackers assaulting a US consulate in Saudi Arabia.
SCE2AUX2: Wrong again, you low-information fool. Obama called the attacks "acts of terror" the very next morning after the attacks. Romney was proven wrong on this at the debates. Get with the program.
Obama is the most: Show us any evidence that Obama altered Petraeus' reports. BTW, you've already made it clear in past questions that you hate Obama because of his race, so your opinions are invalid.
sister_: No, and neither did Obama. He called it an act of terror. And if Obama did blame a video, what does that mean exactly? Is that a crime? A scandal? You're scraping at the bottom of the barrel for anything.
Nikki: Why is that any different? People were killed (including Americans). US sovereignty was violated.
Two Lanes: "And you never hear of a republican calling liberals names or whining about MSNBC at every turn."

Probably the biggest lie told all year. Republicans & Conservatives call Liberals names and whine about MSNBC ALL THE TIME.
Trapped In The Wall: "Did George Bush ever have a CIA fire team on the ground, Marine quick reaction team only a few hours away on an airbase that was ready to support the SEALs trapped in the embassy, and then tell all of them not to do anything? Obama did. "

A complete LIE on your part. Obama NEVER told Marines not to act. You're a liar, and I invite you to provide a source showing that Obama gave an order for Marines not to intervene. You are a liar, and you hate facts almost as much as you hate Obama.
Ollicopter: Protests in reaction to the video occurred during the same day of the attacks - it's reasonable to make that mistake. Besides, why would that be a scandal whether Obama blamed the video or not? How is that a crime? You're an absolute clown.
SCE2AUX2: "No, YOU are the one who is wrong, you mendacious turd. Obama was referring to "acts of terror" IN GENERAL. NOT Benghazi."

He used the term "acts of terror" in a speech directly about Benghazi. Clearly that shows he implied that Benghazi was an act of terror. You hate facts.

But here's the thing - whether he blamed the video or not, how is that a crime or an impeachable offense? There is no proof it was deliberate. Many people thought the video was to blame because of the confusion over the fact that the attacks & protests of the video occurred on the very same day.

You are one low-information clown.
Trapped in The Wall: I read the entire article. I saw nowhere in the article it backing your claim that Obama told Marines not to protect the consulate. You just made that up. Again, I will repeat it - YOU ARE A LIAR.

Show me anywhere in that article that verifies your claims.
sister_: "Obama actually did blame a film for 2 weeks. He got his GF Rice to do the same plus his Press Secretary and others in the administration. You're the only person who seems to think it didn't happen."

No, you're just in the Republican bubble. The same bubble that told you Romney would win in a landslide. Many people don't side with your lies. Whether Obama blamed a film or not is irrelevant, because the allegation from the right that it was a crime/cover-up worthy of impeachment. Reporting faulty intelligence is not a crime. And mark my words, Republicans will come up short to find anything.
Paul: I don't see what your implications are - your videos say that the State Department knew of attacks while they were happening. A CIA security team was sent, but they were too late. Nothing you stated was a crime.
Trapped in The Wall: You wouldn't do anything, you coward. You're angry because I proved you to be a LIAR.

Answer
I have never seen so many straw man attacks in my entire life!!! Trapped in a wall, the Teams got there in 25 min from the attack. - According to the timeline, the first call for help from the consulate was received at the CIAâs nearby Benghazi headquarters â referred to as a diplomatic annex by U.S. officials â at around 9:40 p.m., which is when the attack began.

âFewer than 25 minutes later, a security team left the annex for the mission,â said the timeline, which added that the group spent about 25 minutes trying to take out militants firing heavy weapons as it fought its way to the walled compound and then entered it under heavy fire.

At 11:11 p.m., according to the timeline, an unmanned surveillance drone arrived over the complex while the CIA security team, which comprised about six officers, rounded up the approximately 30 staff members on the consulate premises and prepared to move them to the annex. The security team at that point had recovered Smithâs body but had been unable to locate Stevens, who local Libyan guards had spirited out a backdoor to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from smoke inhalation.

The CIA security team and the mission staff drove out of the consulate under fire and returned to the annex, which had come under sporadic small arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire

That's your article that is supposed to prove Obama did nothing

What is so stupid about these allegations is that Obama would have absolutely nothing to gain if he did hold back a rescue. Unless there is soon going to be a wild conspiracy theory cooked up.

Is it "haram" for a women to get her rights that are not allowed to in islam, in other countries?

Parker

Okay , the full question is , Mus***s, Do you think it is "so called haram" for a women to get those rights and equality not allowed in islam , by other countries (Such as the west) ? !
The rights that have taken away from them from the sharia law and some cruel muslim countries dated back to a book made thousands of years ago. Rights they should deserve as a equal human being ?! Do you think they will be punished . Such as if they live in the west coming from a muslim background .

Rights such as the right to travel at the legal age being her OWN guardian and not some male authority . Being an adult and having her own responsibility and guardianship (not her husband, son or some other male authority ). The right to vote! The right to drive ! trust me I have seen lots of suadi women driving in big cars in Canada. I just think you go girl ! The right to dress whoever she wants without being killed and arrested and be treated as an equal no matter what she wears. there is much more let me think ! The right to abortion, and her free will. The right to have guardianship of her own, children and custody! The right of and equal voice counting as much as a male in court. The right of the court not saying she is half of intelligence of man , and fully capable of making her own decisions ! Equality ! Freedom ! Voice ! The right to work in any field. the right to inherit the same amount as her other siblings (male) . So much more ! The right to own property. The right of being treated equal of a male, in work , money and court and in all instances. The right to go outside , have fun and mingle without some chaperon because she is fully capable. The right to go to the cinema, malls and restaurants, and gyms. The right to marry whoever she wants with the permissions not needed (of parents , etc whatever) and be valid no matter what race and religion . If you can think of more tell me , and why they shouldn't deserve and it , and why they will be punished .

SO you fellow cruel human being being cruel in the name of mus***, which one of the RIGHTS and EQUALITY she has in the west , do you think she will punished for because she is treated as and EQUAL and has and EQUAL VOICE, and RIGHTS!

TELL ME WHY AND WHICH RIGHT , MALE OR FEMALE, COUNTRY AND AGE . Thank you .
I am a women, and you do not OWN them . I will fight for them , they are human being like me. Shutup and go away, everyone deserves equality .
I am a women, and you do not OWN them . I will fight for them , they are human being like me. Shutup and go away, everyone deserves equality .

"I've had big leads before wiped away when the Chase started, and we're on the flipside now," Gordon said. "While it has not been a stellar year for us so far, that could change in the final 10 races. We just need to give it our best effort every single weekend and hope that we surprise them in the Chase."

Well, to get it, you have to get a Yahoo 360 Account
You can upload a personal picture from your computer there and on your "Edit Yahoo Answers" thing, just change picture to "Use 360 Picture"... I don't understand why Yahoo Answers! doesn't allow us to do that!??
Caution: I dunno why, but there is two types of 360? I don't get that... The first one I got, I was able to download the pic but it didn't appear on Answers.. I tried the second one, and it worked!

This year he will not win the title. Last year had so much speed in every race and whenever the car came off the hauler on Friday it was fast and immediately a top ten car for the race. This year something has gone terribly wrong. I think the 24 has not adjusted to the tire combination and has not found the sweet spot on the 1.5 mile tracks.

Eventually before he retires I would like to see him win a title under the chase but I am not sure if that will happen. We'll see. I want him to win race before the season is over.

Francis Ja

After seeing 2 trailers, over 60 screenshots, and Artwork it looks awesome! Personally I think this game is going to be the best when it comes out around Spring 2013. Its coming out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 which is confirmed by Rockstar. But its not coming out for the PC YET! It may take a while for them to make the game on PC because someone told me that the game is going to have 60 GB of data since its very huge. Now I watched the Second Trailer and I see that some people think that the graphics were a little low because its almost the same as GTA 4's. But honestly Rockstar is trying to make the gameplay have more intense graphics and improvement so that everyone will be satisfied. I know there are three protagonists in the game that are named Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. The cool thing about them is you can switch them which is really awesome for the GTA series. The Map is going to be HUGE than GTA SA, Red Dead Redemption, and GTA 4 combined and I gotta say that is crazy and awesome! So in conclusion its going to be the best game ever made in 2013. What are you taught and opinions on the game?

Answer
Honestly I didn't love GTA4...it felt like a huge step back from San Andreas and after being so excited for it it kind of let me down a bit. That's why my expectations weren't too high for GTA5.

Then, I played Red Dead Redemption (in my opinion the best game made during this generation of consoles) and I'm a believer once more. If they pack the amount of open-world content from RDR into the GTA world then I am on board 110%...I'm so excited for this game now! The screenshots all look amazing and I can't wait until more info comes out regarding it's gameplay. Basically I'm hoping for:

improved and realistic gunplay (if shooting someone is like in RDR then it will be perfect),

improved melee combat (yeah you could use a knife and baseball bat in GTA4, but it wasn't all that much fun, and the hand to hand fighting was clunky...),

more indoor environments, more forests and wilderness (how cramped did Liberty City feel after San Andreas?!?!?),

a better soundtrack (I barely even listened to the radio in GTA4...I know that's a small complaint but it's pretty important to me especially after Vice City and San Andreas)

more aircraft (I want to fly a JET and the speed of sound again, I don't care how ridiculous that is!)

better handling of cars (I know they tried to make it realistic but it really wasn't...I mean look at Forza and Gran Turismo, that's realistic. GTA4 was just annoying)

Bring back the army at 6 stars (I know it's not realistic but having tanks chasing after you was fun)

Add wild animals so I can go hunting (like RDR)

Finally, stop trying to humanize the main character! It's ridiculous when they try to do it. How am I supposed to connect with Niko in one cutscene when, right before it, he was going on a crazy killing rampage? It doesn't make sense. Stop trying to make GTA hyper-realistic and go back to its over-the-top roots, I mean we play video games to escape reality, right?

Which is better for a Forza beginner: Forza 4 or Forza Horizon?

Jordan

I am changing from Gran Turismo 5 to Forza because Im getting an xbox in my room while my ps3 is upstairs but i dont know which to pick. Some say Forza 4 and some say Horizon. Can someone help me?
Thanks

Answer
it is Forza 4 friend ..!!

Some tips for beginners

1. Brakes- Although you may think you can take that 60 degree hairpin at 150, you can't. Slow it down!

2. Backround Info- Seeing as Forza is a racing sim, you should probably know some terms. Good ones to start with are: Draft, Apex, Drift, Racing Line, and Lateral Grip.

3. BHP- Don't focus on raising your machine's horsepower too much- You will actually need those class F and class E cars for the first chunk of the game.

4. Minimise distractions- Tou don't really need all of the cars telemetry such as the tyre friction or other pointless measurements. Remove all the really unnecessary features and focus on the driving.

What exactly are hormones doing during the teenage years???

news car over cliff on Are you going to follow Obama off the Fiscal Cliff?
news car over cliff image

Cute T

I am your typical teenage girl (15) and everyday is never the same feeling-wise. During the day and the evening, i can hardly concentrate, my mind is is hopping from one lily pad to another; my feelings go, literally, insane. For a while, I'll be happy, then sad, then lustful, then sad again, then angry, then I'll get over it all and do something that makes me happy and push everything else aside; rinse and repeat.
When i was under 11 my feelings were usually very stable, now I'm very irritable, easily put to tears, easily amused, and what the heck is all the lust about? I just don't get it.
What are my hormones doing to make me feel this way? I know that they're growing and maturing, but that can not be all, can it?

Answer
from things You hit the nail on the head. For the next 4 years or so, you'll feel like a passenger in a car being driven off a cliff by a drunken spastic monkey.

What I did seemed to work. Try and learn to be a bit detached as much as you can, if you feel a strong emotion assume it's not really yours, it's your body's problem. That way when the spastic monkey tries to make you have a screaming fit over nothing, you have a chance of stopping yourself in time.

The good news is by the time you get to college it'll all be over. So just don't take your time in high school too seriously and you'll be fine.

Would you kill 1 life to save a thousand?

3.14159265

scenario:
you hear news that a city is in danger. whether it be a natural disaster or an army ready to kill them is not important. You need to deliver the news to help evacuate the city. but to get to the city you need to cross a cliff which has a small path, barely enough to fit the car but your car fits. So you speed since you dont have a lot of time before the 1000s die. you see a figure up ahead just walking. There is no room in the side to go around him, and no time to stop and to talk to the guy. Do you run him over to save the city or do you stop, knowing you could have saved 1000 people.

I know there can be smart answers around this but the point of this question is to test your moral not your intelligence.

so kill a person you dont know to save 1000 people
or not kill and let 1000 people die

you do not know the person on the cliff. He/She could be a boy or girl, man or child, good or evil. it could be a murderer or pedophile for all you know. But it can also be a person who has helped others throughout his/her life. Or just a simple person just walking on a cliff.

The people in the city are children, women, sick, healthy all types.

So would you kill a life to save 1000?

just a little add on just to clarify:

lets say youre a bomb defuser and theres a time bomb in the city. YOU KNOW you can save the people.

and sure that one person could do a lot. But you would be doing a lot if you killed him.
also the guy could be a child molester.

Answer
Part my religious and part of my moral views would determine my action. I would not kill. For me as a muslim, it is against my religion to harm anyone. We think of it as if you've killed all mankind. Also, I feel like the burden of knowing that I killed an innoccent person for the rest of my life would be hard to bear. Yes you may saved 1000 people, but you also took a life as well. In the end YOU killed an innocent human which is unforgivable whereas the urgent danger in the other town, how ever devastating it may be, was not of your making so it is not your fault if the people die. It only makes sense to not kill that one person so as to stay true to yourself. The big difference is that if you save 1000 people but kill someone you will still feel like a murderer BUT if you give mercy to an innocent human but lose the lives of others that didnt die from your will, then you wouldnt feel like a murderer. Think about it, what would Spiderman or Aragorn or Harry Potter do? lol

How does Tesla Automotive help the environment ?

hybrid car info for kids on 2014-cadillac-cts-new-york-auto-show-production-debut-official-pics
hybrid car info for kids image

HeartThrob

I keep hearing that Tesla is making the environment a better place because it's taking cars with IC engines off the road.

Well energy cannot be created -- it can be transferred...... so the energy has to come from somewhere right ?

Okay, so people plug in the cars to derive their fuel source from a socket in their house. The power source can be traced back to a power plant burning coal or fossil fuel ( IC engine based powerplant which uses LNG).

If energy is energy, doesn't the same quantum of energy taken for all those cars that would have been on road come from a fossil fuel burning power plant instead of a gas pump ?

Imagine me kicking a 10 ton ball. Let's say I have EAT a ton of food to have the strength to do so. And it takes 100 units of energy to do so.

Now that 100 units is needed to kick that ball 5 feet regardless of whatever is being used. So instead of me kicking it, imagine a robot kicking. This robot still needs 100 units of energy. And it will get it from where ? it will poof out of thin air ? No...it'll get it from the coal that's being burned in a power plant which is producing energy that's transmitted to the robot wia copper wires over a grid.

So what's with the hype around Tesla ?
READ EDIT:

I don't want answers that beat around the bush about how great tesla is, so forth and so on... yada yada yada...look at the answer of the first replying individual, his username is "In Science We Trust" .

I DONT CARE about how much boot space a tesla has. All I want to know is, how does putting a Tesla on a road use any less fossil fuel than a ICE based car. With a tesla you're using power from coal based power plants. With an ICE car youre using refined crude oil from under the ground.

Answer
You question is almost as stupid as your username and photo. The energy efficiency for any moving vehicle, whether powered by an electric motor, an internal combustion engine (ICE) or a hybrid design, comes down to overcoming energy losses sustained during operation. The losses can be classified into two categories: road-load and energy conversion. The design engineers at Tesla Motors have incorporated groundbreaking innovations in overcoming both types of loss. If youâre driving one of the new Tesla S Models you immediately become aware of this as your car quietly rockets from 0-60 mph in just over four seconds, covering a quarter-mile in about 12 seconds (reaching 108 mph).

This is definitely sports car performance but contained within a beautifully-designed luxury sedan. The carâs sleek look is a major contributing factor to overcoming road-load loss a perfect marriage of form and function. Overcoming Road-Load Losses

Road-load loss includes the forces that cause a vehicle to expend energy for purposes other than propelling it forward, such as:
â¢Wind-resistance (drag)
â¢Gravity (vehicle weight)
â¢Rolling tire resistance
â¢Mechanical friction caused by bearings, brakes, drive shaft and hubs

To overcome these road-load loss obstacles, primarily in an effort to extend the driving range of the Tesla EVs, design engineers went to work to build extremely aerodynamic, lightweight bodies that are shapely, slippery, and really look good too. High-performance, low rolling resistance tires are used and all moving parts are made of materials and constructed to be as frictionless as possible. Energy Conversion Losses

Energy conversion is the process of delivering power from an energy source to the drive wheels that ultimately propel the vehicle. Lithium-ion battery cells are used in Tesla EVs because of their superior energy density. Although some energy is lost to heat in the battery pack, the extreme efficiency of the Tesla EVâs powertrain (the motor and the drive inverter) allow for near 90-percent efficiency.

Compare this to your typical gasoline-powered car with an efficiency of about 35-percent and the difference is astounding. Even hybrids donât come close to this level of drive-efficiency, since they are also dependent on a gas-powered engine. Nearly two-thirds of the power produced by an ICE is lost as excess heat created during the combustion process.

For more detailed info, see this:http://www.teslamotors.com/goelectric/efficiency

As for the reason for the hype... when it comes to what matters - how it looks, drives, features and functionality it is a screaming HOME RUN. What has it got? Looks... Incredible performance (0 to 60 in less than 5 sec)...great handling (due to extremely low center of gravity),... a beautiful and well designed computer interface.. an amazing amount of cargo space. No kidding, it's over 55 cubic feet! When you think about how Tesla has replaced a huge, inefficient, polluting, noisy engine with hundreds of moving parts that can wear out with a motor smaller than a beer keg and battery pack on the bottom, isn't it a huge Duh, this is way better?! The Model S is absolutely the coolest car on the planet.

Additional info
According to the Union of Concerned Scientists... "Nearly half of Americans live in regions where driving an electric vehicle means lower global warming emissions than driving even the best hybrid gasoline vehicle available. Over the lifetime of an EV, the owner can save more than 6,000 gallons of gasolineâa significant contribution to U.S. energy security. But our nationâs reliance on coal-powered electricity limits electric vehicles from delivering their full potential. Only by making improvements to our electricity gridâby decreasing the use of coal and increasing the use of clean and renewable sources of electricityâwill electric vehicles deliver their greatest global warming and air pollution benefits."

"To meet the challenge of climate change and reduce our nationâs dependence on oil, continuing to run our cars and trucks predominantly on oil-based fuels is not an option. On the other hand, electric vehiclesâcoupled with clean and sustainable electricityâare important parts of the solution."

"If so, which ones can be taken together?"

All.

"How are multiple tax credits limited?"

It depends on the tax law for the tax credits.

Explanation:

First of all, let me give you some definition.

http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=120665,00.html

Taxpayers should consider claiming tax credits for which they might be eligible when completing their federal income tax returns. A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction of taxes owed. Some credits are refundable â taxes could be reduced to the point that a taxpayer would receive a refund rather than owing any taxes.

A nonrefundable credit is a statutory credit that is offset against, and limited to, the amount of the tax liability for the tax year.

A refundable credit is a credit that can reduce tax liability below zero. If these credits exceed the total tax liability, the excess is refunded.

Taxpayers should consider their eligibility for the credits listed below:

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf

These are all possible credits that one can lawfully take in the US.

********From line 47 to line 55, these are non-refundable credits.

You are suppose to take the credits by the line order. For instance, you would take Foreign tax credit before Education credit. You would take Education credit before Child tax credit.....

Line 47 Foreign Tax Credit (form 1116) Are you paying foreign taxes such as your investment income (e.g. Nokia dividends are withheld by Finnish government- we ought to liberate them :)?

Lne 48 Child Care Credit (form 2441)
⢠The Child and Dependent Care Credit is for expenses paid for the care of children under age 13, or for a disabled spouse or dependent, to enable the taxpayer to work or look for work. For more information, see IRS Publication 503, Child and Dependent Care Expenses.

Line 49 Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled: This credit is available to individuals who are either age 65 or older or are under age 65 and retired on permanent and total disability, and who are U.S. citizens or residents. There are income limitations. For more information, see IRS Publication 524, Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled. Gee I've difficult time obtaining any tax payer fitting in the catagory. Either their tax liabilty is zero or their income is too high.

Line 50 Education Credit (Form 8863) Do you have big kids that will not grow-up and stay at home?

Line 51 Retirement savings contribution credit (Form 8880) This suppose to help the lower and the middle class of America to save.

Line 52 Residential energy credits (Form 5695) I always think they should up the credit limitation.

Line 53 Child Tax Credits. ⢠The Child Tax Credit is for people who have a qualifying child. The maximum amount of the credit is $1,000 for each qualifying child. This credit can be claimed in addition to the credit for child and dependent care expenses. For more information on the Child Tax Credit, see IRS Publication 972, Child Tax Credit.

Line 54 and 55 MISC. Credits (such as hybrid car, Mortgage Interest Credit, Adoption credit and other odd credits).

⢠Adoption Credit: Adoptive parents may qualify for a tax credit of up to $10,960 for qualifying expenses paid to adopt an eligible child. The credit may be allowed for the adoption of a child with special needs even if you do not have any qualifying expenses. For more information, see the instructions for Form 8839, Qualified Adoption Expenses.

*******The following are refundable credits:

Line 66
⢠The Earned Income Tax Credit is a refundable credit for low-income working individuals and families. Income and family size determine the amount of the credit. For more information, see IRS Publication 596, Earned Income Credit.

Line 71
⢠Telephone Excise Tax Refund is a one-time refund for anyone who paid federal excise taxes for long-distance telephone service billed after Feb 28, 2003 and before Aug 1, 2006. A refund of previously collected telephone excise taxes may be requested on your 2006 federal income tax return. The refund request can be based on the actual tax paid or a standard refund amount ranging from $30 to $60. For more information, go to the IRS website at IRS.gov and link to Telephone Excise Tax Refund.

Line 68
Additional Child Tax Credit (form 8812)

This credit is for certain individuals who get less than the full amount of the child tax credit. The additional child tax credit may give you a refund even if you do not owe any tax.

I need to know how much gas comes out of a car exhaust?

car exhaust info on honda s2000 2000 2003 exhaust cat back system hks exhaust
car exhaust info image

Hazem

I'm working on a scientific project and I need to know some general info. about the volume of the gas that comes out of a car exhaust. No need for it to be specific, maybe you want to take an average engine like 1800cc with rpm at 3000

Thank you.

Answer
Well, let's break it down some, and make some assumptions.

1. No turbo or super charger.
2. Running at zero load
3. Pressure at intake and exhaust are both the same.
4. 4-stroke engine

So, if you have an 1800cc engine, the total displacement of all cyls is 1800cc every TWO revolutions. So, let's use a no-load RPM of 2000. Then we end up with 1800cc X 1000 volume per minute.

That gets you pretty close, but to be sure, you need to actually measure the mass flow rate of the air intake.

Is smoking in a car with Children bad?

joanne1991

I am having an argument with a friend. She says that smoking in the car with the windows rolled up and the children in the car is bad. I think that rolling the windows down is worse because there is car exhaust and other bad stuff that could hurt my children outside.

Who is right?

In China, do they make you eat raw eggs for doing an act as such?

Answer
That's so stupid -.- First off, smoking is bad, period. Especially around children! You influence them- later they might try to smoke too, since they've seen an older person do it. It's also bad for THEIR lungs, not just yours.
Secondly....I'm chinese, and I dont think you do stuff like that, even though I live in America.... I honestly don't get how you guys get this false info.

Shoveling snow off your car; how long does it take in the morning before work?

car news for 2012 on Car Reviews | Future Cars | Car Comparison | 2012 Volkswagen Jetta
car news for 2012 image

Mortabi d

We're moving to Anchorage next month (from South Carolina..hot hot hot) and are only looking at apartment homes with heated garages. However, this feature is difficult to come by. So, how long does it take to shovel the snow off your car in the morning?..and do you think it's a necessity to have a heated garage in places with harsh, long winters?

Answer
You asked this question in the Chicago travel category. Chicago sometimes gets heavy snows but we only had 1 fairly heavy storm last Winter producing about 6" snow. The whole Winter had lass that 1 ft...not a normal season.

Anchorage not only gets feet of snow but lower temps and wind...that means blizzards.

It probably is hard to find a heated garage. Most people in Alaska plug-in the car when not in use. Engine block heaters are used to ensure the car will start after sitting in below zero temps...check it out:

http://www.portablecarheater.org/images/eb2.jpg

You also might have to get a set of tire chains as ice is worse to drive on as snow. The chains dig into the surface making a steadier ride:

http://www.arielbravy.com/travel/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/I-love-this-style-of-tire-chains.jpg

Shoveling off the car? I'll never do it. You'll probably be shoveling off your house's roof. For the car or truck I'd use a push broom for heavy snowfall...it won't scratch the hood, roof and trunk. Time? If I was going to use this broom, the snow would have to be over 8" or so. Depending on the car...1 min for a Prius / 3 min for a Ford Expedition:

http://www.foodservicefiresale.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=UPDSFB-24P&Click=80233

For lighter snow get a smaller broom/scraper. An expandable one for a van or SUV or a smaller version. AFter the broom, finish off with th smaller one. The scraper will be very important as it will be your first weapon to attack ice:

2nd weapon...Deicer:

You'll also need warm durable gloves, a heavy winter coat, a warm hat and waterproof boots.

Last year Anchorage had record snow fall...be prepared:

How do parents forget their child in their car?

Liz

This seems to be the way a lot of children die when left in a hot car. They say they forgot. How do you forget that you didn't take your child to daycare. WTF.

http://vitals.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/11/11640581-two-children-die-in-hot-cars-as-risky-season-begins

Answer
It makes no sense to me how you forget your child. My son goes everywhere with me and I've never once been like oops I forgot he was with me. It's just a stupid excuse

What will happen if I don't pay my car loan when I have the Tiitle to the car?

car loan info on Auto Lease vs Loan Calculator - Information - WebCalcSolutions.com
car loan info image

Anna B

I got a car loan for a car. I told them that I needed the car title to get the tags. They gave me the title and I got the tag but they never asked for the title back. Now I have the title, and I'm just wondering what will happen when if I don't pay.

Answer
They can repossess the car since the loan has not been paid off and your credit will be ruined. Physical possession of the title does not release you from payment. The title should have their name as owner or lien holder.

A website I've recommended in the past would be...

http://www.safelinked.info/go.php?link=auto

Good luck

I have bad credit. Is it possible for me to still be able to get a car loan for a used vehicle?

Jordan B

Without, paying super high interest rates? I also want to spare myself the embarrassment of being turned down for a car loan at a dealer. Any suggestions?

Answer
You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. That's one of the BIG mistakes people make...just taking the first offer that's given to them when they go to the dealer. Be smarter than that.

I've bookmarked this site to go back to next time I need a loan...

Take Care.
