What is the best car audio deck you can get

I'm getting a system for my car and I need your guy's opinion on what deck is the best and what company I should look at to get one. Any info helps

to me pioneer and eclipse are the top two.
go with the pioneer 9800bt it comes with blue tooth high pass filters low pass filters add ons for usb ipod it has a built in 13 band equalizer when most radios only give you a 3 band also most radios wont give you high pass and low pass filters which block frequencies you don't want certain speakers to play also it comes with higher voltage outputs which send a stronger signal to an amp if you choose to amplify there to much more that this unit does but you can read it at pioneer. Eclipse also has high end features if you are into having a radio provide good sound quality these are good to go with.

Setting an Intelligent Equalizer on Car Stereo, Hurts Ears...?

Hello, I have a JVC in dash car stereo. When I first installed it 3 years ago it really hurt my ears at first. It has an intelligent equalizer which gives you a ton of setting combinations as to how your player could sound. I remember it took me about 3 weeks of tweeking in order to get a setting I could stand to listen to. Well, last week my car battery went dead and I lost my sound settings. Now it's back to where I was 3 years ago. My ears hurt and they feel full of pressure when my cd player is on. I can't seem to remember how the equalizer was set. The options are: Low Level, Low Width, Low Frequency; Mid Level Mid Width and High Level, High Frequency. It also has an option for Loud On or Off. It's driving me crazy cause I loved the sound of my player once I got things tweeked and I can't seem to get it back. Does anyone no anything about sound or car stereos or equalizers that could give me some advice or info on how to have a nice sound? Thanks!

I own a JVC (my g/f's car) and it has the same EQ. It's actually pretty nice.
First off, you generally don't touch the bass.
Try to cut the midrange to about -1 or -2, have the mid width on '2' -the biggest 'Q'.
Now, the treble, where your 'bleeding ears' are being caused by; start at a high freq, it goes up to 15Khz so start there. Boost it at about +2 - +4. See how it sounds. If it sounds a bit bright, bring the freq down a little. Leave the loud off until you get the main EQ set, then see if it helps with it on.

Honestly, every car is shaped differently so noone can tell you what to have the EQ set to. You're just going to need to sit there, car off, volume to about halfway (25?) and mess with it until YOU like it.

Also, it might hurt you ears because you have the volume too high and the internal amplifier is clipping (distorting). I can only turn my g/f's JVC up to about 38 (goes to 50) before it clips.

is the car park multi-stories?

ground conditions: need bearing capacity of the soil and seismic information. this limits what type of building and its materials
climate. wet climates are okay for concrete, marine climates require special concrete
HS&W access ramps for handicaped, elderly, pedestrians etc.
noise. too small a structure will generate more tire noise, echoes , engine noise.
visual impact....these places are monolithic eye sores. need to break up the visual nature of slabs of concrete.
pollution.....you have a lots of cars. oil leaks, coolant leaks gas leakes , tire wear, soot ,mud rust.....
environmental impacts.....lost sunlight downtown, smelly cars, trucks diesel gas smells soot smoke oily
legislation....lots of bleeding hearts whining about all the above forming political action committiees cuz they have too much time on thier hands at home....generally spouses of rich people.

When someone post there car on craiglist and they seem like they really don't want to get rid of it , is that an indication that it is a good car , I actually almost bought a car that looked to in perfect condition and offered him exaclty what he wanted for it and the guy ended up saying "hey I've decided not to sell it " bascically what I'm asking is, am i doing a good job looking for cars ?

Not really. My SUV is not a "good" car but I like it. It fits me well, I can parallel park it and know its limits and what it should sound like, I can see around me very well, it's very comfy for long drives, and I'm happy with it. But it's not worth much, less than $1,000. I wouldn't sell it for less than $3000 because, well, it would be tough finding a vehicle that I'm this comfortable driving and that I know the mechanics of as well. Plus, there's the headache of finding a new vehicle.....

I'd say that if someone is reluctant to sell, it doesn't mean the car is a good car at all. My hunk o' junk is a good example of that! But it does likely mean that they have either taken good care of the car (I do) or they've dropped a bunch of useless crap in it to make it "cool" and the wiring may look like cthulu and be wearing out the alternator and the "rims" can be putting too much strain on the transmission because they didn't bother to change rear end gearing and a lot of other stupid stuff.

It's an indication of attachment. Sometimes that means the car is really well cared for, in which case, you may be getting a good deal. It can also mean exactly the opposite. My husband calls such cars polished turds. Sure, they look great, but everything else is a catastrophe.

Don't believe what people are saying about batteries. Even the old tech batteries (lead-acid) are very affordable. The battery pack in my EV costs under $1000, and lasts for 20,000 to 30,000 miles. That's only four cents per mile. Electricity to charge the batteries only costs one cent per mile. That's way, way cheaper than gasoline.

Is it legal to install xenon headlights in cars in Malaysia?

I get contrasting information. I read in news that they are illegal - officials from the Road Transport authorities were quoted as saying that they will fine those found with such lights installed. Then I read that our national car manufacturers install xenon headlights as standards in their new models. Personally, I hate these lights. They hurt the eyes when coming from a car opposite and irritates when the lights shine into my rear-mirror.

It is illegal to install xenon bulbs if it is not the standard specs for your car model. It is only legal if the xenon bulbs is part of the standard specs which came with the car.

But it is crazy to have such lighting as it is dangerous to other road users. And it is also very dangerous for the driver of such vehicle during heavy rain at night .However malaysia is truly asia as we have 2 different sets of law. One for the elites and rich and one for the common people.

Im not sure what they are using the water for in Maylaysia, but there have been tests of a car that has a very strong electronic pulse that when water is sprayed into it, it is actually seperated into hygrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is used for fuel and the oxygen is blown away from the car...........the only problem is that when you are at a stop light the oxygen accumulates and the car explodes........that is the problem with that,

I really would appreciate some input. This is our first time buying a car. The car we are interested in is a RAV4 2011 Limited(Prem. Plus Value Package,body side molding,floor mats,auto dimming rear view mirror).

Its MSRP is $28,078.00. Invoice price is $26,529.00 and we were quoted $25,929.00. Is this a good deal? How much under the MSRP and how much under the invoice price should we go in order to make a good?

The invoice price of $26,529.00 includes accessories which includes "Back up camera"($500).

Edmunds.com shows the same car you're loking at for $24,915 so you are only getting ripped off by 1,014.00 plus I'm sure they will talk you into a useless $2,000 warranty and $1 ,000 worth of un needed undercoatings and interior coatings. In the end you will only get ripped off by about $4,000. Not bad in today's economy. I'd spend hte extra $2,000 - $3,000 buy something tried and true like a Jeep Grand Cherokee that won't collapse when it gets rear ended. Never use the third row for your children when cars this small (even mini vans for that matter) get rear ended the tailgate tends to open the opposite direction and usually takes out the entire rear seat with it. If you're set on a Rav 4 Limted there's plenty of them listed on cars.com for $21,000 and change. But don't get any of the extras. They rip you off on everything.

Im a girl turning 16 in march. I want to get a car for my birthday! I would really like a ford fusion, 2005 chrysler 300, a 2009+ ford focus, and a Dodge Avenger. Im looking for something stylish, classy, or sporty for a girl. I've been told mini coopers or a fiat but im not sure about those. Any further info or suggestions on cars for me? (I am getting a used car not anything brandnew and nothing before 2005 and nothing after 2011) and I dont like Honda cars so none of those please.

you need to get a car that gets very good gas mileage.. to fill up your car could cost $80 , that's a lot.

google ( edmunds.com ) there you can find reviews , problems , etc on any used car,, mpg etc ,, even the amount you should pay for it.

To find out you should pay for a certain car.. look for the button that say " appraise your car " then put in the info of the car you want to buy to get a price.

here to get you started google ( edmunds.com 2005 chysler 300 ) you see that it does not great gas mileage .. so you should forget that one. and dont buy a fiat or a cooper.

tax car reg info question?

i can not find my car registration anywhere i filed it and looking for it but cant find it. Anyway i gave my tax papers and info 2 tax express and they said it might help me on refund if they had the car registration property tax form. How can i get that form or the whole registration again. P.S. we do have a tag office in town also. thanks
i bought car on 12-6-05 and paid the registration and property tax every year to present.

Call the DMV and get a copy - you usually need to have it on hand anyways in case of an accident or if you were pulled over.

But the car registration will only help you if you are already itemizing.

YES! I am actually still having a problem with it even though i purchased my car almost 2 months ago- the problem is sometimes they need more information from you, so until they get all the info they cant process the transaction. You should call the dealership where you got your car, and make sure that everything is going smoothly on their side... Good luck!

Pastrana's debut in the Nationwide series was supposed to be back in August, but he broke his ankle and has postponed his first start until next year. He's done a few oval track races with mediocre results. I wouldn't look for him in a Cup car any time soon.

How much should I ask for my 1981 Z-28 ?

This Z 28 is red in color. It needs interior restoration but the exterior is in great condition. It runs great and I have the Original sales receipt. Does anyone know the price I should ask when selling?
Additionally, if the vehicle was already restored, what value would you suggest placing on the Z?

This is a free website look under classics in the consumer section average retail was 7 grand, with high retail set at 14 grand (this would be a low mileage car in perfect condition. And it appears hemmings has changed its easy to use format, to a less easy to use one I did not like, and was having trouble isolating just the z28 and not all 143 camaro for sale, The third place to look to give you an idea of what to sell your car for, would be autotrader classics, type this in your web search box and dig around and see what z28 are selling for in all 50 states You have to enter some search parameters, but you will get there eventually. Car/truck crash in melbourne?

Q. Hi, well this is really weird but my husband saw a terrible carcrash on the monash freeway on Friday 25th March 2012, the sedan merged into a truck and went underneath the truck, then the truck fishtailed all over the road and hit other cars. I have searched it in the news and cant find ANYTHING. Ive found a story of a P plater girl who crashed into a tow truck but thats not it. Why isnt it in the news??

Im thinking of moving to New Zealand. I would want a car at some point and don't know how much car insurence would cost. Im 19 been driving for a year and a half. No accidents, convictions etc?

Almost impossible to answer this for you, I'm afraid. Premiums will depend on where you live, what car you buy, whether at the time you take out insurance you are holding a UK drivers licence or a NZ licence, the value of the car insured, whether you have had prior insurance in your name, what type of insurance you need (comprehensive, third party) etc etc.

I did a quick check for you with State Insurance for full insurance assuming you live in Auckland and buy a cheap car. They quoted over NZ$1000 per year.....ouch!!!! And the excess is high because you are under 21.

The good news is that car insurance is not compulsory in New Zealand. I don't recommend being without it, but, if push comes to shove, you can drive legally without it.

I heard a news that one Mormon guy, who was blond in his 20's, was abducted in car in Yunnan province, China in August 2004 and was transferred to North Korean via Myanmar. This was the 1st US citizen case of the N. Korea abduction victims.

I heard The U.S Committee for Human Rights in North Korea held a press conference several days before and revealed this fact.

How to get a fair sentencing in the drunk driving accident that killed brother and childhood friend!?

About a year and a half ago, my brother and a childhood friend were killed in a drunk driving accident by a man whose blood alcohol level was .222. Almost 3 times the legal limit, he also hurt two other people that were in the car with my brother and friend. Well, this man who killed them, has a connection in the courthouse where this happened because his girlfriends step dad is the prosecutor or something, and they appointed the attourney general to be the prosecutor, but we think his connection is still working for him because the probation and parole lady, which we believe must know him because she called and spoke to me and my mother and asked how we felt about it, and she was very forgiving of him, and especially nice about his girlfriend. Also the probation and parole lady recommended 6-8 years? WTF? Anyways, we have until tuesday for the actual sentencing and I was just wondering if there was anything we could do to bring some heat on this. This was a white man who killed my brother and friend who were black, and we know if it was the other way around my brother friend would be up the river by now! He started out pleading not guilty, and had absolutely no remorse, and then he changed lawyers, partially because I think that other lawyer said "youre screwed" and now hes pleading guilty and he tried to say sorry after wards. Well were not going for this. We're going to contact the NAACP, and were trying to think of anyone else we can contact. Hes looking at 44 years altogether and she recommends 6-8? Wow...gotta be atleast 20 years, I mean come on now. Any body have any other ideas...I thought about calling some local news channels.
I know that, however, does that mean he shouldnt spend a significant time in prison, his life should atleast be delayed a little, thrown off, my brother and friends lives are over for good. He should atleast have to put his on hold to go to prison.
I guess you guys are right about the race thing, but I feel like things are just skewed in his favor because it happened where he lives and he has connections there. Also, I get to write a victim impact statement, and I plan to show some pictures of me and my brother, and my friend, and my friend also had 2 kids, so I plan to speak on their behalf also, Im so scared hes gonna walk out on this.

If I were you, I would enlist as much help from the media in publicizing this as possible. Contact tv stations, newspapers, local media websites, MADD, etc. You should be emphasizing the "good ole boy" contacts in the prosecutors office. I agree with you. The guy deserves at least twenty years. Even then, he's getting a "two-for-one deal" (sorry, not trying to be crass, you know what I mean....)

I agree with the other posters about not playing the race card. That isn't going to help your cause and you don't need to do it. Do not call Al and Jesse....that won't help either. Make sure you write the very best victim impact statement that you are capable of. Get help if need be. Good luck to you and I hope you get justice.

car seat question please answer?

Q. ok I am aware of the car seat laws in Ohio, I have spoken to everyone from sheriffs, to pediatricians, to even web sights to stay updated on the laws. I have new car seat for my children and everything. but my question is my son is 15 months old and is 25 pounds, and 32 inches tall. now Ohio wants parents to wait until the child is two, until you turn the seat forward, but I have a 5 year old in a booster, whom is well qualified for so I know he is fine until 8, but I am expecting another child in the end of May. and by then my younger son will be around 19 months. now as far as height and weight he meets the standards of the car seat and the state, the only thing is his age. now I am not going to turn him around now, but after I have the new baby I was wondering other mom's thoughts on this, if you would or would not turn your child around? and consider al my info I put, and the fact I have a car, witch sits 3 in the back and 2 up front, and I have mentioned this to his doctor and she said just try to keep him rear facing as long as possible but did not say no because he is ok by height and weight, but just age is iffy. so what are your thoughts on this?

I would not turn your child due to the reasons below.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says that a properly used rear facing car seat is always safer than a properly used forward facing car seat. The AAP says that moving a child to the next step is a decrease in your child's protection in the car.

The results of a study published in Pediatrics shown that children under the age of 24 months were more than 500% safer riding rear facing than forward facing. That same study said, "Children under the age of 2 years are 75% less likely to die or sustain serious injury when they are in a rear-facing seat."

He broke his neck because forward facing car seats do not restrain a child's neck during a crash. A booster seat's job is to correct seat belt fit, by placing the lap belt on the child's hips and the shoulder belt on between the child's neck and collar bone. An improperly positioned seat belt can severely injure or even kill a child.

-5 year old riding in a narrow high-back booster such as the Evenflo Big Kid or Graco Turbobooster
-19 month old riding rear facing in the Diono Radian with the angle adjuster
-and your newborn riding in a narrow infant car seat such as the Chicco Key Fit 30 or the Cosco Scenera

Buckling up a booster can be very difficult, so you may want to have your 5 year old ride in a harness to avoid scraped knuckles. The Radians are expensive, but it is cheaper than a new car.

Find the order that the car seats can be properly installed independently. This means that car seats can touch each other, but may not rely on each other for support.

If the license plate number you gave was your father's license plate, then the vehicle would no longer have that plate on the car. The new owner would need to have registered the car in their name and would have been issued a new license plate ( unless they had a current plate from another vehicle that could be transferred ). You could use a "paid search service" in an attempt to track down the buyer. It's very difficult to get information on people these days because of all the new "Privacy Laws" each state has.

Hello I'm looking for (preferably used) cars that are 11,000 or less and I want to know what I should get. I'm 17 in a few days and I got my license a week ago.

My requirements: A/C, taken care of well, decent look, at least 21 mpg, 2-door with four passenger seating, not salvaged, and automatic.

I'm looking at Toyota Celica and I'm fairly impressed with the design and price.

Any advice? Any info about the Toyota Celica series I should know about?

Well, for a budget of $11,000, in my opinion, you could do much better than a Front wheel drive, 4 cylinder Toyota. I will give you the list of cars around your price range later but on with the Toyota Celica. Just looking at your budget, I am guessing the Toyota Celica is from the years 2000-2004, in which case, this car was fairly nice looking and easily modifiable, but since the introduction of the Front Wheel drive to the Toyota Celica in 1986, the car has really gone downhill. The only nice one would be the Toyota GT-S which slightly better engine designed by Yamaha and the distinct exterior add ons made it uniquely a GT-S. The GT-S also had an interesting valve timing, around 6,200 rpm, you would get immediate boost or hp. But however, the Celica was cancelled for a reason, dwindling sales and lack of consumer interest and competition, is reason enough why not to buy this car. The interior was ok and the seats had a racing-like design but besides that, the interior was pretty terrible in design. Also premium fuel for a Toyota, that is ridiculous and there was one recall. I could go on and on about what is wrong with this car and what is wrong with Toyota as a brand such as the lawsuit against them for Patent Infringement of Hybrid Technology or the Lawsuit against their cars causing roll overs and the occupants dying. I really would recommend you look into the 1990-1996 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo or a 2003-2007 Nissan 350z. Here is a list of cars that might spark an interest:

Q. Okay I went to auto zone to get a reading on my check engine light and they gave me 4 codes.

I have a 2005 Chevy cobalt

P0973:: 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit low voltage
P0974:: 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit high voltage
P0700:: transmission control module (TCM)

GO DIRECTLY back to a CHEVY dealership! There just MIGHT be a recall on your problem that NO ONE else knows about. ASK at the servcie desk or at the PARTS DEPT. It is FREE info for you. Also contact NHTSA for more info as they keep track of secret recall campaigns. ALSO you might try a genuine TRANNY repair place, but I have trouble with TRUST. PLEASE consult with DEALERSHIP FIRST. They have ALL the info for you, and you should TRY at least, to TRUST THEM! ALSO gtry ANOTHER AUTO ZONE. CHances are that you are having trouble with a WIRING HARNESS here. GOOD LUCK!!

correct, the 20,000 and higher don't get played. In truth your ear can't hear them anyway. A healthy young person might be able to hear up to 18khz, but probably only in a laboratory audio test.
The reason speakers are spec'd to 32khz is because it's only 1 octave above 16khz, which is audible. so a sepaker spec'd to 32k shouldn't distort 16khz.
As for what to look for, it is a safe bet to keep the speakers 'rated' power (not max power) equal to the max output of the amplifier. People often run amps into distortion, even without noticing. By keeping the rated power that high the speakers should not blow out.
The better way to judge the quality of a speaker is the sensativity rating. this equates to how much volume you get from the power put into the speaker. a low number means a stiff unresponsive speaker, which usualy means poor sound quality.
if the manufacturer puts the EQ curve on the box this indicates the volume of sound based on the frequecy for the same power input. ideally you want flat accross the spectrum. But more important is the low end roll off. If you aren't running a subwoofer, you don't want speakers with a high freq rolloff, or you'll miss that bass.

I have been teaching myself mechanics by finding cheap/free old cars and buying repair manuals for each. Experience is the best way, even better than taking courses I hear. I buy Haynes manuals.

Also, If u are wanting to get a general idea of mechanics, you could start on simpler motors like lawnmowers, chainsaws, and small engines. Working on small motors helps you to get a really clear understanding of the basics without needing to wade through the electronics and add-ons found in almost every car or truck. Try to find a small engines repair shop that has a lawnmower graveyard, sometimes they will give you a truckload of dead motors for free.
- I started with a $10 lawnmower and a Haynes small engine repair manual.

Car CD Player...Wiring problems??

I need more info...like what make and model of the vehicle and the make and model of the CD player. 13 years car electronics experience tells me you have a factory amplifier in the vehicle somewhere. If you have the blue wire off the back of your new CD player to a wire in the dash....take a look and see if the CD player you have has a blue/white wire. If it does have the blue/white striped wire.....switch the 2 wires. Most aftermarket radios have 2 wires
1 blue wire...used for power antenna activation
1 blue/white stripe...... used for amplifier turn-on
when you switch sources from radio to CD...the head unit turns off the blue power antenna wire(which...if you have it hooked up to a factory amplifier will turn off the factory amplifier and kill your sound!)....$100 says that's the best answer..and the right one

Actually RSS is the XML, to correct the post above. The RSS is updated on the back end, using a server side technology like PHP or ASP. You can also manually update it, but that is very tedious.

Most of the news sites, blogs, etc. that have RSS have their articles/posts saved in a database. The RSS feed script then just needs to read from this database and display the required data in the proper XML format. These sites will then either update the RSS on a regular basis, or, more usually, 'create' a new file every time it is requested, the same way the articles themselves are created. Usually, the RSS feed will just have the 15 or so most recent articles from a site (or section of the site in the case of most news sites).

My auto insurance has expired and I'm kinda looking for a new car insurance. I can extend the previous car insurance, but I just want to know about other car insurances as well so that I can make a good choice.
I took a look at many car insurance company websites, but it seemed like I need to put all my personal information (not only about my car and my email address but also my home address, phone# etc) to get a quote. I'm worried that maybe they would send me all kinds of junk mail kinda stuff to my house if I put my address on the form to get a quote.
Do you know any good ways of getting a quote without telling them my personal info? Any recommendation which car insurance company is good?

Btw I've never got into any car accidents so I just need a cheap auto insurance. I drive '83 caddi.

I know you have concerns about privacy but you should know that in many states insurance companies that collect personal information from you for the purposes of giving you a quote are forbidden from using that information for marketing purposes.
And, it is very important to give that information to the company/agent because they need it in order to generate the proper underwriting to come up with a quote.
In the absense of information, they will make assumptions that may not get you the best quote.
In other words, if you want to qualify for the maximum number and amount of discounts, you should give them the information they desire.
Also, to be sure, if there is a box for other comments, you can ask to enact the "Opt Out" rights you are granted under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley (or GLB) act which then more specifically prohibits the companies from sharing your personal information with others, sometimes even within their own company.

How does insurance work? Well, insurance is a form of 'risk management'. You can't take the 'risk' of possibly being in a situation where you have to pay for things that you are liable for since really, it gets expensive, so you transfer that risk to a company that has enough money behind it to pay for your liabilities. I'll give you an example here: you're driving down the road and you look down for a moment and plow right into me. Since I wouldn't have had a car stuck in my side if not for you and your look down, you're responsible (or liable) for what you've done to me. My pretty Jetta (I'm totally pretending here) now has $15,000 worth of damages on it that you caused, and I've got whiplash, injuries that amount to, say, $10,000 with of doctor's care. So now you have $25,000 of problems that you've caused to me and without insurance, you'd be hocking everything you own, right? Since that's hardly possible, you instead went and bought an insurance policy through someone a few months ago and in exchange for premium (money you have to pay to them), they accepted responsibility for paying for the damages and injuries you cause (up to your liability limit, the max you elect for them to pay up to). So instead THEY send the check to fix me all up, and the world is happy again! That's the basics, though hardly everything. If you want more in-depth, you should wikipedia.org it! Lots of good info there.

As for getting a new car, you'll want to get your quotes before you buy the car to make sure that you're not going to get in over your head. Once you have a price and know for sure that you're getting the vehicle, you can actually go ahead and get the policy! You can't buy the car without it, so waiting until after you already have it doesn't even work. And if it doesn't work out and you don't get the car after all, your insurance company can void out the policy as if you never bought it.
