Do you know if there is any way you can find out a License plate number for a vehicle if you have no info?

car info from vin on days + 1 hour ago in Easyautosales
car info from vin image

M

Other than the year, we have an idea of the license plate number but not sure. I mean is there some kind of website I can go to to find out vehicle info, have no VIN nothing.
See what happened is that our car was stolen 3 days ago and we still haven't reported it because we don't know the license plate and it was registered to someone else also registered in OREGON state. All the paperwork for some dumb reason were in the car. Old classic car.

Answer
Help me understand this: your car was stolen, and you haven't reported it stolen to the police; also, you don't know enough about your car to give a good description?

Wow.

Hope it's not used in the commission of a felony later today.

Do you buy the car first then get insurance or the other way around?

Face DA' F

How could you get insurance if u don't have a car to fill out the car quotes info like millage, make, year, and so forth if u did not buy the car as yet?

Answer
Hi: you answered your own question.
Until you know the year , make, model , VIN number etc you can not get the insurance set up.
So buy the car, get the info, call insurance agent and you are done.

Isn't this how Muslim extremists start the 90% of the civil wars they are involved in?

5/1/13 http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-05-01/six-men-admit-plot-to-bomb-right-wing-rally/4662776

Six British men have pleaded guilty to a potentially deadly bomb plot that targeted a public rally of a prominent right-wing group.

One of the men was under police surveillance, but the plot only came to light after the would-be terrorists' car was stopped in a random traffic check.

In June last year, the English Defence League was holding one of its regular rallies, railing against the dangers it says are posed by Islam.

Five men from the West Midlands packed the boot of their car with a small arsenal of weapons: a homemade bomb containing hundreds of nails and ballbearings, sawn-off shotguns, knives and swords.

The men and a sixth accomplice had also prepared a long letter outlining their motivation.

The document referred to the Queen as a "female devil" who was fooling a nation of "blind sheep".

The English Defence League (EDL) was referred to as the "English Drunkards League".

"O enemies of Allah," the letter said, "we have heard and seen you openly insulting the final Messenger of Allah."

The penalty for this, the letter said, was death.
------------
Then our extremists blow some Muslims up and civil war begins.

-Bing/Google search âcivil wars in the worldâ and determine where they are being fought; then research each civil war and determine who is fighting in them. The results are startling: 90% of them involve one combatant-religion -- Islam. Muslims extremists fight in civil wars against Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Shamans, Copts, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Christiana, animists and Confucians and all other non-Muslim entities. They fight in China, Russia, Bosnia, Cyprus, Macedonia, Israel, Pakistan, India, Indonesia-Ambon & Halmarhera, Côte d'Ivoire, Kashmir, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Kurdistan, Kirghizia, Nigeria, Philippines, Somalia, Turkey, Chechnya, Sudan, Yemen, Thailand, Uganda, Azerbaijan, Mali, Chad, Libya, Bangladesh and East Timor.

-2011 FBI Annual Report on Terrorism, http://www.nctc.gov/docs/2011_NCTC_Annual_Report_Final.pdf, page 11: Of 12,533 terrorist deaths 77 were committed by Neo-Nazi, fascist or white supremacists; Muslims committed 8,886.

Answer
What is so ironic with Britain is it's losing ground with Islam, and there are some high up politicians there that fear Britain could be controlled by Islam in the next decade or two because of the Muslim growth that is happening over there. That is scary stuff coming from a politician, but I am not to surprised about the comment because Canada and the U.S. are following Britain's path and politicians are blind to the Islamic threat to the western world in my opinion.

Answer
Save your breath trying to reason with democrats. Common sense tells everyone but liberals and democrats that ALL human predators dearly hope their targets are unarmed, whether the predator is a home invader, Stalin or Hitler:
-Thomas Jefferson, "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776: ââLaws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Even pacifists like Mahatma Gandhi "got it," saying: "Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest." An Autobiography, pg 446.

But liberals and democrats always religiously cling to their dogmatic faith that âmore guns leads to more crimeâ no matter how much evidence you shove in their face, including:

-9/27/01 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/156671⦠are deeply rooted within Swiss culture but the gun crime rate is so low that statistics are not even kept"; âIn addition to the government-provided arms, there are few restrictions on buying weapons.â

-1/15/03 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/26568⦠BBC: "âIf guns are outlawed only outlaws will have gunsâ" may prove prophetic. Gun crime in the UK is soaring even though it has the strictest gun control laws of any democracy.â
Nine years later: 12/17/12 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-⦠UKâs violent crime rate per 100,000 people is 2,034; USâs is 466.

-2/2/11 Daily Telegraph, about piracy: âThe safest ships of all [sailing in the Gulf of Aden] are flying the Russian flag: armed guards aboard them simply blow pirate boats out of the water and leave any survivors to drown. Attacks on Russian vessels have abruptly ceased.â

-7/25/12 http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-07-⦠1950 all but one mass-murders in the U. S. where more than three people died were committed in gun-free zones. The Gun-Free Schools Zone Act was passed in 1990.

-9/25/12 http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/5c1b6a72-c5eb-â¦
âBut almost 30 years after the law [which mandates that all households own at least one firearm for self-protection] was passed, it is still in place and still popular, not least because Kennesawâs crime rate has remained disproportionately low, even as the townâs population swelled from 5,000 in 1982 to almost 35,000 now. According to the latest FBI statistics, Kennesaw recorded 31 violent crimes â mainly robberies and aggravated assaults â during 2008. In other similar-sized local towns the figures were much higher â 127 in Dalton and 188 in Hinesville. For property crimes â largely burglaries and thefts â Kennesaw recorded 555 while Dalton had 1,124 and Hinesville 1,802.â

-11/23/12 http://www.timesdispatch.com/news/local/⦠2006-2011 gun purchases in Virginia increased 73%. During the same period gun-related crimes fell 24%.

-1/6/13 http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/20â¦According to Bureau of Justice Statistics, the firearm crime rate dropped from 6 victims per 1,000 residents in 1994 to 1.4 victims per 1,000 residents in 2009. This has occurred as more and more citizens have armed themselves under right-to-carry State laws. While major crimes show continuing decline in those States, this phenomenon parallels a major crime rise in heavily gun-controlled cities.

-U. S. Department of Justice http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/pub/pdf/vdhb.pdf: 3.7 million household burglaries occurred each year on average from 2003 to 2007; a household member was present in roughly 1 million burglaries and became victims of violent crimes in 266,560 burglaries. [meaning the police didnât show up in time]
-----
As to the democrat mantra, âCall 911â:

-In Warren v. District of Columbia (1981), the D.C. Court of Appeals ruled, âpolice personnel and the government employing them are not generally liable to victims of criminal acts for failure to provide adequate police protection . . . . [A] government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any particular citizen.â In Bowers v. DeVito (1982), the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled âTHERE IS NO CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO BE PROTECTED BY THE STATE AGAINST BEING MURDERED BY A CRIMINALS OR MADMEN.â

-âWhen seconds count, the police are only minutes awayâ

Would lowering speed reduce the price of gas and be an attack on terrorist and others making big money on oil?

Pey

In 1965 a display at the US Army Transportation School featured a new vehicle for all government agencies. This vehicle used water as a fuel. Over 1000 vehicles that use water as a fuel are on order today for the Army. A Fox News video clips below relates how a Ford Escort required 4 ounces of water for a 100 mile trip. It will take several years to get these vehicle on the market, but in the mean time we can save 15.6 % on fuel use by driving and flying just 20% slower. That will also save at least that percentage of lives on the highway and help stop the "war." http://hytechapps.com/company/press

The next link mentions the first patent for using water as a fuel dated 1935.

http://www.lilybrookherefords.com/stef/waterasfuel.htm

http://www.rexresearch.com/hyfuel/garrett/garrett.htm#_top

The link above confirms the 1935 patent for using water as a fuel. While not a success at the time, this early vehicle may have been near the start of this technology.

Answer
It's not really feasible unless we get other sources of energy as well (solar, nuclear, wind, geothermal, tidal, etc.). If you study chemistry and look more closely at your links and the process, you will see that cars don't run off of straight water. You can't just pour tap water into your gas tank and it'll run off the water.

Instead, the water has to under electrolysis first to get the hydrogen out and then the car runs off of hydrogen. The slight "problem" is that if you look at the chemical reactions, electrolysis is a very expensive process that takes quite a bit of energy. Where are you going to get that energy? You need other sources of energy if you need that fuel as mentioned above.

Reducing the speed limit to 55 mph like we did before would save some fuel, but knowing human nature, everyone is going to complain and people are going to drive at whatever speed they want anyway. I wouldn't mind because I don't need to drive since I take public transportation, but I'm sure plenty of motorists enjoy the feel of going really fast with their cars even though it wastes a bit of gas. That's just how the world is these days.

What camera equipment to use to capture images to be used in TV news broadcasting?

Recycle M

We want to supply building images and supply to a TV broadcasting company which will be using in their news bulletin broadcasting segments. What type camera and in what format it must be captured and supplied to them? This images are without audio or voice over. Only images the TV station wanted to air during news broadcasting?

Answer
There are several brands for the cameras -- Sony, Panasonic, Ikagami etc. It would depend upon which country or which service you are selling to, but generally you would need a "High Definition, Wide screen" video camera attached to a High Definition Betacam recorder, either as one unit or as separate units.
Other items needed would be --
A good quality Tripod, Portable lights, portable lights batteries, charger of portable lights, plug-in lights (usually three for news work), spare batteries for camera and recorder, charger for the camera batteries, Shotgun microphone, omnidirectional microphone, several microphone leads, raincoat for camera and recorder.
Other items that are not photographic --
News car (usually a station wagon or 4-wheel drive) with a roof rack that you can stand on, several scanners in the car to listen to police, fire, ambulance and other essential services, a mobile phone and possibly a two-way radio if you are working with one particular station on a contract basis.

Would you buy a 6 wheeled car? What reactions will your friends show if you bought one?

QuiteNewHe

Recent news on the internet shows the new 6 wheeled covini, a new concept in cars.

Answer
Yeah, why not? contrary to C7S, it can perform quite well. The additional tires can provide more traction, improve braking distances, improve weight distribution, and prevent an accident in the case of a flat tire (you have 3 good ones yet).
As for reactions: who cares what they think! If you like it (it will certainly be different), then what they think shouldn't matter. Plus, when you read them the specs, they won't have much of an argument. there are no drawbacks to a properly designed 6 wheeled car.

I'm a guy and I don't know much about cars and I feel like I should. What's the best way to learn more about cars?

Answer
Listening to "Car Talk" is a great way to learn, and outrageously fun/funny.

It is a radio show about cars, but they guys mostly just joke around.

You need to get your hands dirty to learn about fixing them, which is hard these days because modern cars tend to be computerized.

Offer to help someone you know who is knowledgeable about cars. There are local auto clubs and shows, which are a great source of info.

Where can I find info on maintaining my 1997 Club Car golf cart?

Chilly

I am looking for a detailed online resource that instructs how to properly maintain and repair my 1997 Club Car. It is a v-glide Regen model.

Answer
I would suggest looking to see if Club Car has a web site. If they do, it's a good bet they have info about your model archived, if not a copy of the owners manual you can download.
If that doesn't work, do a google search for your model.
If all else fails, ask the mechanics at the courses nearby.
Good luck

My mom has to get a new car, but it is a little unexpected.
She won't drive a chevy, dodge, or ford.
She doesn't want a truck.
She would like the vehicle to be about $20,000 or less, but it is okay to go a little over.
The year doesn't matter.
New or used doesn't matter.
She wants it to get about 30 mph highway.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance! (:

Answer
A LITLE more info would help, such as big, small, four door or two.
20K can buy a lot of things. If she wants to go for something larger, I would check out Kia Optima, or Hyundai Sonata. Consumer reports rates both very highly. They share engines and I believe transmissions, both get class-leading mileage; I prefer the Optima because I think it looks like a Jag.
You can't go wrong with a Camry or an Accord, but they are a tad boring, and may be closer to 25K now.
If she wants a 4 door that's a little smaller, but still somewhat sporty, the Suzuki Kizashi is getting very good reviews and is supposed to be a lot of fun to drive. The 2 door vernon is the Koupe, also a decent car.
If she wants to go small with 4 doors, Hyndai Elentra, Civic, Corolla, Mazda 3 and Subaru Impreza are all reliable, and get decent mileage. If she lie the Impreza (which has all wheel drive, great for snow), or the Mazda 3, then make sure it's a 2012, as they just changed the engines and transmissions, greatly increasing the mileage.
IF she wants sporty, go used; an Accord coupe with a 6 cylinder is a nice option, 2006-2007 models get about 29 all the time, 33 on the highway. The newer ones have larger engines, and don't' get as good mileage. Unless you get a 4 cylinder, not as much fun, though.
I hope that helps.

I have a1995 Kia Sportage won't start is a manual transmission what can be wrong with it?

I done oil change regularly... Just had spark plugs and Fuel Filter change... When I try to start it it just won't.. It tries but it won't I has lost power, is leaking a bit of oil... The check engine light came on. Not sure can it be the gas pump of a head gasket... I not sure what it can be... Should I just get rid of the car? PLease if anyone knows anything give me some tips...
It also has a new battery...

Answer
What is the mileage on the car and has it been maintained regularly, not just oil changes but other required services? First, engine oil is a lubricant it lubes the engine while it runs so it rarely has anything to do with starting issues unless it was allowed to run with little or no oil for any extended period. If that occurred, there could be major engine damage that might affect starting. Assuming that isn't your problem since you said you have done oil changes there's so many possibilities its impossible to cover everything without more info. You have to have three things for an engine to run fuel, air, and spark so we need to know which of these are present and which ones aren't. Give us that and we can make some educated guesses.

How long does a car dealership have to pay off your car after they receive the funds to do it?

Trickplay

I guess that is my question. The dealership is going on 3 months now without paying off my car that I sold them as part of my financing. They keep saying they are going to do it, but haven't done it yet due to one reason or another. Any suggestions on how I should go about making it happen?

Answer
Normally they have a 10 day pay off window for the trade which is entered on the finance application. At 3 months you should have already been in touch with someone to get it resolved. If they are not paying the monthly payments it will be on your credit report and possible additional charges.

You could ask to speak to a general manager or dealership owner and see if that makes a difference. Check with the Attorney Generals office and the Better Business Bureau. Perhaps even a local tv station news department.

What type of "car fax" style report provides the most accurate information on a car?

baudeagle

I have heard that some "car fax" type of reports are not that reliable. Is there any recommendations about a good reliable report that I could use for a car? BTW are there any free ones out there too?

Answer
No free vehicle history reports. Of those that are available, Carfax and Autocheck are the most popular. However, neither is completely accurate or complete. They are only as good as the information that is reported to them by dealers, state DMV, and insurance companies. If certain information is not reported, it doesn't show up in the history report.

A recent national TV news program did an undercover investigation and found that Autocheck was more accurate and more complete than Carfax.

Can you put a turbo charger in a car with an automatic transmission?

z car news on ... new york auto show 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 2013 New York Auto Show
z car news image

shadow6741

Would it be better to get a manual or automatic 350z if I thinking of putting a turbo in? What are the advantages or disadvantage over one or the other?

Answer
GET A MANUAL. This should even be a choice if you plan on racing. The manual shift mode help the auto a bit, as does the rev matching downshift feature depending on the year, but ultimately the torque converter delays your inputs, softens your engine braking and basically makes it impossible to maximize the potential of any chassis. If you plan on drag racing and nothing else, then please accept my apology. A slushbox is perfectly suited to that. A Camaro would be better, but your Z will do just fine. More bad news however would be that an auto can only handle the extra torque from a turbo kit if the engine management for the turbo doesn't lie to the transmission controller. Most turbo kits trim the MAF signal to increase the amount of airlow the system can handle before the MAF tops out. The problem is the auto trans uses rpm and MAF to estimate how much torque the engine is making and then adjusts the shift firmness. With a trimmed MAF signal on a turbo kit, the engine will be making WAY more torque while the tranny thinks you're barely hitting it. As a result it will do a pansy-a$$ soft shift, which will cause the trans to slip under the huge load your actually giving it. There are three solutions however.
1. Use a kit that doesn't trim the MAF signal. You'll be fairly limited in how much boost you can run though...maybe 6psi...forever.
2. SGP Racing in Houston sells an upgraded 350Z Tranny that uses larger servo pistons to increase band tension on the slushboxes clutches, prevent the slippage that kills the stock auto. This is a $4000 solution.
3. GET A MANUAL.

Hope that helps you choose the correct transmission!

What is a good GPS for a reasonable price?

I am kind of looking at TOMTOM.

I do need a unit that does not install into the car, a portable unit would be best, as it will be shared between two cars. and not left in the car when parked... I would rather not spend more than 80-90 bucks on a unit. I can get a TOMTOM for 70, but don't really know about the other brands, and what else is a good alternative to TOM.

Answer
If you would have asked me 2 months ago which GPS has the most useful features, reasonable price, and is the most accurate then I probably would have said the newelectronx gps amigo. Today I think a new arrival has gotten tomtom, garming, magellan, etc beat. The new newelectronx gps sport more features than ever to help you get from point A to point B quickly and safely. The new update has features such as audible driving directions with text-to-speech (TTS), spoken street names, high way exits, tell you which side of the street the destination is on left or right, geocaching, converter, longitude and latitude, points-of-interest search, and large easy-to-read screens â 5 iches, to name a few.

Not only does it work well with regular driver â because im not in my commercial truck all day. LOL. It also has truck driver on it. Truck Driver is the solution for drivers of heavy goods vehicles, rigs, truck, campers, RV, buses, commercial trucks, taxi, delivery driver, and vans.

Using this gps I am recommending, you will find yourself getting used to finding things easily with dynamic routing and navigation optimization based on a vehicle's dimensions, road warnings and legal restrictions to avoid such incidents. Speed alerts to help from costly tickets.

Suitable for HGVs, vans, horse transporters, caravans or trailers, the newelectronx gps that I bought awhile ago made me want to give up my garmin because it also incorporates info on London area unloading with pinpointed loading bays with exception times and a parking penalties database.

In addition to points of interest or POI databases included on the gps, it also features a points of interest database tailored to professional drivers including national HGV petrol stations and London cafes where drivers can purchase breakfast, as well as 40,000 other POIs â or maybe its more, lol â im not at expert, just a user.

Complete with street level mapping for the United States, Canada, UK and Republic of Ireland, or anywhere you need to go, seven digit postcode lookup and a free safety camera alerts the features designed specifically for the professional driver can be switched off, turning the gps into a standard GPS for every day use in the car. So, if your looking for the best gps then I would definitely recommend this one. To me and in my opinion it is worth it and then some

I am looking to buy a used car but every time that I try to find info on the vin # it always leads me to a form where I have to buy the report. Is there a place to get the info for free?

Answer
Actually, there is a new website that gives info on used car history for free. I did a search for "auto vin lookup" and it came up. To look up a vin you have to add a vin but it doesn't cost any money. It appears to be a database where people put in the history of a vehicle they have owned or know the history of. The car I was looking for wasn't in there but I bookmarked it for the future.

Answer
Outlanders, sport or full sized, are arguably Mitsubishi's strongest offering besides the Lancer. I'd own one if I didn't already have 4 or so Mitsus. I'd go all the way for the SE AWC if you ever encounter winter weather. Its arguably the most advanced all wheel drive system on the market, behind its big brother S-AWC and Nissan's ATTESA system. You wont be disappointed. Mitsubishi isn't going anywhere....besides, rumor has it Suzuki is on there way back in a couple of years.

Shocker. #6 right behind acura and way ahead of any american competition.

Per Jul 25, 2012 in UK ratings
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2179067/Land-Rover-revealed-UKs-reliable-car-71-cent-years-old-break-year.html

Tied for 6th ahead of all american companies and 1% behind subaru. The Euro line-up only differs from the american in that they offer certain models in a diesel format AND most importantly, they sell the Evo FQ400, the most powerful Evolution variant able to be obtained. One could argue these options can easily add to maintenance and reliability concerns. Seems they did pretty well there huh?

Not sure where you got transmission issues from. I worked in a junkyard when I was younger. If I remember correctly, over the course of the year I was there, 3 Mitsubishis were dropped off. What we did keep getting plenty of in were chevys, fords, and gmcs all with bad trannys.

Don't hate what you don't know kiddies. It's fun to pass on misinformation, but sometimes it just gets old and makes you look ignorant.
I should know, I work on them every day.

I am looking into buying a 8gb mp3 player but I don't know which brand to buy? Should I buy an apple mp3 player or a touch screen mp3 player?

Answer
I have a Sandisk Sansa Fuze, two in fact, one 4gb and one 8gb with an 8gb Micro SDHC Memory Card for each.

I LLOOVVEE my Sansa Fuze. I paid about $35.00 for each one... The 4gb I got on Amazon.com and the 8gb I got refurbished through Tiger Direct.

I can put a couple hundred 1 hour 45 min long podcasts and a couple hundred songs on my 8gb and I only have to refill the mem cards every few MONTHS and I listen to podcasts almost every waking hour of the day.

I got an LG Lucid SmartPhone 2 weeks ago and have been using that as an MP3 Player. I know the battery is already going to need charging once or even twice a day so using it for podcasts/music isn't doing much more than just keeping it on standby.

I will NEVER allow an Apple Product in my home. What are your thoughts on the latest news about Madeleine McCanns' story?

Q. The latest news is that a DNA match has been found in the car that was hired by the McCanns' five days after Maddy went missing. http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=65542&in_page_id=34
What do you think?

Answer
I think the cops in Portugal are trying to frame the parents because they are so inept.
It wouldn't be the first time that this particular police force has participated in something like that.
And the car was rented 5 weeks after the girl went missing when there were so much paparazzi following these parents to even try to put a body in the trunk would of been near impossible.
And then there is the little tid bit of where were they keeping a decomposing body so close by for 5 weeks without detection ?

What does a government shutdown mean for us?

Hila

I see in the news just now that there is going to be a (possible?) government shutdown. I also see it's about economics and all of that, but I don't fully understand it all. What does it mean ( a government shutdown) for the US? And what effect will it take on regular every day Americans ( as opposed to the people of the American government .)?

Answer
The issue is that the US government is running out of money to pay its foreign debts as well as its employees.

If a compromise is not found and funds run out, then the government will have to take drastic measures in order to meet its most important payments.

A shutdown is one such measure. This means that many non-essential government employees will be asked to work fewer days a week, or even stop working altogether. Immediate effects would be things like National Parks will have to close or go on reduced schedules because no one will be there to run them or maintain them. Federal courts will slow down even further, causing more and more cases to stall while they wait for an available courtroom. National laboratories and research facilities will lose even more funding or be asked to shut down entirely.

The effects on the average American won't be apparent at first, but will last for years:
* Spike in unemployment. The US Government is the largest employer in the US. Asking millions of workers to take an unpaid vacation will seriously impact not just their personal economy but the national economy as well as they stop buying as much stuff.

* Drop in consumer confidence. This is a measure of how financially secure people feel. When confidence is high, they tend to spend more and buy big-ticket items like cars because they're pretty sure they'll have the income to pay these things off. Besides putting millions out of work, non-government workers will worry about their jobs because if no one buys stuff, no one has a job.

* Drop in the stock market. Investors don't like uncertainty and tend to sell off investments and hoard money when they feel insecure and uncertain. People who have a 401k through their job or invest directly will see the biggest impacts here but drop in stock market prices will also cause companies to cut costs, and stop hiring new workers.

* The US' global financial reputation takes a hit. The rest of the world will view the US as a riskier place to loan money. The interest rates on those foreign loans will go up, meaning the government will have to make even MORE cuts to meet those higher payments. The spending power of the US Dollar will go down, meaning things we buy from other countries - oil, food, cars, etc. etc. - will all go up in price.

The US economy has been fighting to make the slightest of improvements over the past 5 years. This latest round of the Republicans holding the economy as their hostage once again threatens to destroy all that hard-fought progress.

Does Clean and Clear acne control kit work?
DOES IT OR DOESN'T NOT? WILL IT GIVE MY DRY SKIN ,ARE THEY ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Answer
I don't know; I wouldn't use it because of some of the ingredients it has in it...

STOP eating and drinking foods with refined or artificial sugars, like high fructose corn syrup, crystalline fructose or aspartame/phenylalanine. Up your vitamin C, K & A. Do some exercise like dancing or yoga. Get a little sun everyday, no more than 10 minutes if you have a light complexion. Drink more water. Try using witchazel as a toner during the day, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar at night.

A wash of milk with lime is a great treatment for blackheads. First bring a glass of milk to a gentle boil, and then add juice from half a lime. When the milk cools down it makes a great face wash. You can store it in the fridge for a couple days.

A raw potato is cheap and brilliant acne natural cure, especially for whiteheads. The vitamin C makes your skin glow, and alkaline in the potato kills the bacteria on your face. The potato also has an exfoliating effect helping you to get rid of dead skin cells. Papaya fruit produces similar effect; you should also use it raw. (Make sure the potato isn't genetically modified!)

Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:

* Mineral Oil, Paraffin & Petrolatum â Petroleum products coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatological issues, like slowing cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer & Disruptive of hormonal activity.

* PARABENS â Such as methyl- propyl- butyl- & ethyl- parabens: Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities â mimicking estrogen â and interfere with the bodyâs endocrine system.

* Phenol carbolic acid â Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.

* Propylene glycol â Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, may inhibit skin cell growth, and is a skin irritant and sensitizer.

* Acrylamide â Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) â Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners⦠and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skinâs moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a ânitrosamineâ, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling âcomes from coconutâ or âcoconut-derived" - and is found in many popular body washes and toothpastes!

* Toluene â Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.

* WAXES â Such as Paraffin, Candelilla Wax, Carnuba Wax: Waxes are widely used in cleansing creams, eye creams, and moisturizers. Waxes clog pores, creating blackheads and whiteheads. They also smother the skin, which over time creates an enlarged pore problem.

* Lanolin â A yellow, semi-solid, fatty secretion from sheepâs wool is widely used in skin and beauty care products. It can cause an allergic reaction in some people, as well as enlarged pores.

* Acetone â Used in nail polish and nail polish removers, this colorless, volatile liquid is often used in astringents, fresheners, or clarifying lotions. It is extremely toxic and will dehydrate the skin, while speeding up the aging process.

* ALCOHOLS â Such as Isopropyl Alcohol, SD Alcohol 40, Ethyl Alcohol: Alcohols dissolve the bodyâs natural moisturizers and strip the skin of its protection, leaving it vulnerable to infec

How safe is it for Americans to travel Europe?

car news europe on According to Automotive News Europe's John Revill, General Motors ...
car news europe image

My girlfriend and I want to go to Europe for a couple of months as our honeymoon. How safe is it?
We were planning on flying to England, touring the British Isles, and taking the train through France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, and pretty much every country between, using credit cards as our money. The exact itinerary isn't planned yet, but that is a general idea.
I am a semi-professional photographer, and we are both pretty well traveled, so we shouldn't look like tourists. Don't know if that has very much relevance in Europe.
Is there any specific countries we should stay out of? I know Spain was having a bit of a hard time, so it's not on our list.

And how bad is the language barrier? Give me an idea on how much we would need to know of certain languages to get by.

Thanks for your help! My #1 concern is safety and getting by as fluidly as possible.

Answer
It is as safe as most of the USA and most of Europe is more safe than many parts of the USA.

There are some suburbs to main cities that have a less than good reputation but a short search on any of the cities you go to will show when there are problems.
Just like you will not go into the suburbs of the USA cities without checking.
No reasons just now to avoid any country, but you might keep any eye on BBC world news as well as the site of the USA foreign affairs people.

Using a credit card for the bigger payments is alright, but you will need cash as well, European shops often do not accept credit cards for small payment. Getting cash on your credit cards is often expensive, it is mostly much cheaper to use your bank card in the ATM.

Loads of tourists travel Europe only speaking English, never having any problems. Even in the smaller towns and out of the way rural areas you will find people speaking English fluently, if by no means all. But many people in Europe will understand the basic words, and most under the age of 40 will be able to answer you, if at times in a simple way.
If you are flexible with your language, know a bit of Spanish, French or German, it will be even easier, as you will be able to communicate with even more people.
I do not speak language other than my native Dutch and English and I have traveled the countries you name as well as a lot where English is spoken much less, like Japan, Slovakia and Czech republic, and had no language problems that stopped me from traveling nor enjoying it.
I have asked for help making reservations, tourist information offices are good places for that.

If you have the money to spend, combine train for long distances and into towns with car rental for getting around the countryside if you love making nature photos.
In the center of cities in Europe cars are mostly more of a hinder than a help, so better leave them parked out of town or even better, at the rental companies.
There are good buses and often underground/overground rail links all through the cities and a lot of smaller towns as well.

What breakthroughs can we expect by the year 2020?

Rachel

I'd like to know how our lives are expected to change over the next 10 years. What type of medical advancements are on the horizon? Will there be a cure for cancer/aids? What types of new technologies will replace the current ones? I've Googled this question and found a lot of blogs but not much in the way of news articles.

Answer
We currently have the ability to automate vehicles so we won't need to drive. This ofcourse will require that all cars have an automatic transmission and able to communicate with eachother and road signalling etc. May be something to look forward to...possibly add the destination on the GPS and let it drive, ofcourse this is limiting to car enthusiasts, and no more accidents, no deaths on the road, may shut down some powerful insurance companies so not likely to happen. Makes you think, what else hasn't been invented because of a consequential shift in power.

Also very possible advances in weapons systems, with further computerisation, better tracking ability and detection, automation, target acquisition. What else?...I know NASA launched a new space rocket design recently, I'm sure everyone's seen it.

Why do people think the Mustang V6 is bad, when a lot of performance cars including the Nissan GT-R have a V6?

Adam

The Cadillac XTS has a V6, the Nissan GT-R has a V6 and a lot of other sports cars have a V6. But a lot of people look down on the Mustang V6. The Mustangs V6 is a 3.7 305 HP engine, which is better than most other V6 engines, so why the hate?

Answer
You can't beat the power of a V8? Sad to say BUT YOU ACTUALLY CAN! Especially if it's been detuned to a ridiculous level. I mean w/ mustangs in general while the big V8 muscle/pony cars were famous for power, somewhere between 1971 and maybe 2010 the base V8's in mustangs went to absolute hell. So while still being V8's they were weaker than the V6's in the last few gens of mustangs.

And I can personally vouch for that currently owning a V8 mustang that back in 1972 that even though it had a 351C in it (one of the famous ford V8's) that particular V8 only put out only about 180HP stock (less than a 94-04 V6)

And in a car that weighed a hair under 4000 lbs. SO as you can imagine, it did not make things much better. So it really goes without saying that it would be very easy to beat that back then.

And I'm sorry but to dump a bit more on the guy who said that. That comment is exactly what we're talking about and really is also case in point w/ this issue....the problem is your typical "V8 only idiot" just thinks a V8 equals more power than anything else...end of story. And usually doesn't understand that all engines are NOT created equal and that some engines can have more or less HP whether they have the same number of cylinders or not

And as said with a lot of these people they really are absolutely clueless when it comes to stuff like that to the point they are basically just pretending to be car enthusiasts, and really don't understand a word of what they're talking about.......other than the term "V8". But they will just dump on anything w/ anything less than a 8 cylinders any chance they get regardless of the facts.

And like I said it's common knowledge the I6/V6 is of course always the weakest option (except for the years w/ a 4-cyl) because not everyone who wanted to buy a mustang needs personal short coming compensating power and lousy gas mileage, lol

And while I can't really prove it. I personally suspect some of them had bad experiences w/ V6's or something when they were starting to drive and it must have made such a bad impression that they've just never been able to get over it.

....I know we get a ton of questions on here from clueless and poor 16yr olds asking over and over how to make the gutless/worthless 94-04 3.8L V6's faster. (which I will fully admit is a waste of time cause you can't do it for cheap) So w/ all those I can't help but think that it may be the case with at least a few of them out there.

But either way while the past few gens of V6's have agreeably been junk in terms of performance (given that they were not designed for it in the first place)

The good news with the current generation of V6, it's definitely a bit of a different story. The 2011+ V6's are the first V6's that have what most would call decent if not proper horsepower AND decent MPG....whereas before you always had to choose one or the other.

And actually if you look at the numbers in the specs. They end up having MORE HP than most base V8's had from about 71-04 (including the famous 5.0 form the 80's that had 225-235 max)

And actually have about the same as the 05-10 GT's had (between 300-315HP)

PLUS if you look at sales numbers on mustangs Ford has ALWAYS sold more V6's (and I6 pre-74) than any/all V8 versions they have ever offered so basically the 6's that these V8 only morons like to dump on so much are actually what keep their precious V8's in production (if not the entire brand itself)

So really they hate because as w/ any mindless bigot, they are just stuck in their cycle of irrational hate and just will not come out of it no matter what the facts may be.

Any problem for a car only cranking once and running immediately?

Joe

Usually when a car starts, engine cranks at least 2-3 times before it runs. But for my car (Toyota Corolla), most of time it only cranks once and then starts running immediately. Out of curiosity, is there any potential problem with it and if yes, what area I should check or verify or adjust? As far as I can remember, it has kind of always been so beginning from the new car. Now it has been 7 years. No powertrain related problem has so far noticed.

How I let my mom use the computer/play a video game occasionally?

Kaan

I am a 14 year old almost 15 year old boy. I go to a private independent school and get decent grades (A, B). I do not ask for much regarding personally belongings. I do not ask for a phone, I do not ask for an idevice, I do not ask for a gaming console, I do not ask for expensive clothing. The only electronic I own and is where I get all of my entertainment is my higher end computer. Even this I did not ask my parents to pay for, I did.

What I usually do is browse youtube, watch some internet videos, look at the news, and occasionally play a video game. (50% Youtube, 30% gaming, 20% Other general things)

However, ever since mass shootings have occurred a bit more since last year or so, the media has started to blame video games for these things. I can go on a long rant on how this is not true but won't for the sake of your time.

My mother does watch quite a bit of news and sees these sorts of things. She is very overprotective in a way and takes things very seriously. So now, when I am using my computer, whenever I click more than a few times in a row she seems to get very paranoid that I'm playing a video game. Often she will run into the office and look at the computer screen to see if I'm playing a game. I do not understand this behavior, when I asked her why she has started this she mentions the media blaming video games and how she thinks I will become like the shooters. *facepalm*.

I have no mental health issues and have been raised more than properly concerning real life violence. In no way do the violent video games (that I seldom play) influence my behavior. She doesn't seem to understand this.

I get very sad when I think about this and how I don't ask for anything but my free computer usage. So even though I don't ask for much, I can not even play an occasional game violent or not. This also effects my everyday computer use since she gets concerned over every click I make. Buying a silent mouse is not the solution people

If you have made it this far, here is the question.
What can I do to make my mom calm down about video games influencing my behavior and how can I resume usage of my only electronic.

Thank You

A quick list of games I play if you're interested:
In order of most played to least:
Minecraft - Who doesn't? 60% of time
Alliance of Valiant arms - A free to play first person shooter 20-25% of time
Beamng.drive - A paid car engine simulator (physics of cars) - 20-25% of time
Grand Theft Auto IV - Most people believe this game contributes to violent shootings, I play it for the open world, sandbox feel; more for the car driving then the crime - 20%

As you can see not too much

Answer
You can also tell her that studies prove playing video games makes your mind smarter because it challenges your brain, makes you move faster and makes your problem solving skills better. Watching videos on youtube relieves stress. And reading things on the web makes a person smarter. If you want to pursue the argument print out or save some articles and show her. Say there is nothing wrong with you using the computer and say that most people that use the computer dont turn into shooters. Infact all those shooters either were 1) bullied, 2) grew up with abusive, alcoholic, drug addict parents, 3) had psychological issues. Those people that did shootings were troubled and people knew they were troubled before the shootings occured.

Can you run hydrogen car conversion below freezing?

HardTech

How do you keep the water from freezing? Any ideas or techincal info?

Answer
i'm assuming you're talking about the HHO assist cars that have a bottle of water that's used to make HHO gas. The water has a little electrolyte mixed in, much like your car battery. This allows current to flow through the water, yet lowers the freezing point well below freezing. you may be able to check to what temperature with an electrolyte tester.

Has anyone had experience converting a car to run on grease or electricity?

governorho

I am looking into getting a kit to convert a used car to either run on grease or to run on electricity. I'd like to know of the experiences that some others have had going either of these two routes. Thank you.

Answer
governor

i converted 1 car to run on ethanol, a truck tor un on biodiesel 2 cars to run on hydrogen and one electric. here's what info i have for you...

Ethanol doesnât go bad like petroleum itâs just Alcohol. Itâs what preserves your wine and gets better as the years go by.
Ethanol is a much cleaner fuel than petrol (gasoline):
It is a renewable fuel made from plants
It is not a fossil-fuel: manufacturing it and burning it does not increase the greenhouse effect
It provides high octane at low cost as an alternative to harmful fuel additives
Ethanol blends can be used in all petrol engines without modifications
Ethanol is biodegradable without harmful effects on the environment
It significantly reduces harmful exhaust emissions
Ethanol's high oxygen content reduces carbon monoxide levels more than any other oxygenate: by 25-30%, according to the US EPA
Ethanol blends dramatically reduce emissions of hydrocarbons, a major contributor to the depletion of the ozone layer
High-level ethanol blends reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 20%
Ethanol can reduce net carbon dioxide emissions by up to 100% on a full life-cycle basis
High-level ethanol blends can reduce emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) by 30% or more (VOCs are major sources of ground-level ozone formation)
As an octane enhancer, ethanol can cut emissions of cancer-causing benzene and butadiene by more than 50%
Sulphur dioxide and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions are significantly decreased with ethanol.
Lastly and my favorite.. It can be made at home.
It will cost about $1.10 to $1.20/gal to make the alcohol from various feed-stocks like corn, barley, potatoes, or Jerusalem artichokes. You will also have by-products which you can sell or use as animal feed, reducing the total cost down to about $.95/gal.

I currently run Bio Fuel (straight vegetable) in a 1999 Dodge 3500 truck. But all Cummins engines were modified from the factory to run on BioD since around 1992 without any modification.

Biofuel is recognized by both the US Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy as an alternative fuel, and qualifies for mandated programs under the Clean Air Act Amendments and the Environmental Protection Act of 1992 (EPAct).

USDA Clears Air with Biofuel: Buses and other diesel-burning vehicles run cleaner if they mix biofuel with regular diesel fuel, said the US Department of Agriculture at a biofuel fuel seminar at a USDA research center.

Conversely most major automotive manufacturers (Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, etc) recommend the use of bio fuels, and nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves ethanol blends in their warranty coverage.

In fact your probably even driving an ethanol car and didn't even know it.

The trick is finding fuel.

I've been producing biofuel for about 3 years now, it's not extremely difficult. Basically you need general household ingredients, a processor (or still for ethanol) and some used oil. Blend it, let separate, screen and use. I complied a guide a while back to help walk you threw the process step by step, just email me or check out..

Hydrogen is a great option for the concept of free energy. I built my first hydrogen cell about 5 years ago and now currently run 2 trucks, my home hot water heater, home stove and home generator on hydrogen for free with caught rain water and the help of a $10 solar panel. I offer a step by step DIY guide to walk anyone interested threw the process. You can find it at http://www.agua-luna.com/hydrogen.html or you can email me.

There are basically 3 safe ways to make and use it... chemically, electrically and molecularly, the first 2 being easier so I'll only discuss them here. The fallowing steps were taking directly out of a DIY guide I offer to those who would like to run their vehicles or home on hydrogen safely. The entire guide is available at http://www.agua-luna.com/guides.html

On demand h2 generators are a bit different from the Hollywood versions like seen Chain Reaction with Keanu Reeves, that tend to explode violently every time a film is being made. However when used in an on-demand system there is no storage of hydrogen and oxygen in its gas form, only liquid (water) and is only transformed into gas âon-demandâ in small cylinder size amounts. Itâs actually safer then gasoline as it doesnât evaporate, creating explosive fumes in the tank like gas.

Chemically

1. Youâll need a 6inch x 1ft schedule 40 pvc pipe. With pvc cement glue a cap on the bottom and use a screw on cap for the top. Drill a small hole (1/4inch or so) in the side close to the top, screwing in a small copper shut off valve. Place a few feet of stranded (food grade is good) flex hose to the valve and into the air intake of your engine (carburetor or fuel injections).
2. Now crunch up a couple aluminum cans (beer cans, soda cans etc) and drop them into the pvc pipe, along with a couple cups of lye (Red Devil drain opener has lye in it, some Clorox and Dranoâs do to).
3. Then simply add water, screw on the top and wait a few minutes.

What happens in simplicity is that aluminum and lye donât really get along so they battle, and as always the innocent civilians (water H2O) that the most casualties, by giving up its hydrogen and oxygen. This then builds up in the void of the pipe and is ready to be vented into your engine, by opening the valve. You may need to start your engine on gas then switch it off after the hydrogen starts burning.

Electrical is a bit easier then Chemically.

1. Simply take a small solar panel 1.5 amps is what I use ($9 at harborfreight.com), connect the 2 wires from the panel +- to 2 conductors (carbon cores of batteries work well, just be careful removing it from the jacket), but any conductive material will work ie. Copper, aluminum, steel, etc.
2. Drop the wires into a water tank (I use 55gal drums), make sure they donât touch each other.
3. Drill a small hole (1/4inch or so) in the side close to the top, screwing in a small copper shut off valve. Place a few feet of stranded (food grade is good) flex hose to the valve and into the air intake of your engine (carburetor or fuel injections).
4. Then simply add water, screw on the top cap and wait.
After a few hours tiny bubbles will form and rise off one conductor (thatâs hydrogen) and even smaller bubbles that just looks like foam will rise off the other (oxygen). I donât remember which likes the positive and which likes the neg hydrogen or the oxygen.

The third method is more complicated and is what I use for my vehicles. Itâs just a modified Joeâs Cell, thereâs a step by step DIY guide available to walk you threw the process here http://www.agua-luna.com/hydrogen.html It also covers the other 2 methods described in more detail.

The one EV car I currently have (have 2 vehicles that run on hydrogen also) I converted from a vw bug and is free to charge. As I live completely off the grid all my electricity comes from solar panels and 2 wind generators, which I a;sp built.

However I did charge up at Costco in Carlsbad California (I actually only drove up there to fill up) if I remember right it was around $2.00

Hereâs a list of other places you can charge up, donât know if there are any prices though.

Not sure if youâre interesting in doing it your self, but Iâd be willing to walk you step by step threw the conversion. I've converted 3 of my own cars (a datsun truck, ford ban, and a vw bug) and a few for neighbors. I've also converted cars to run on hydrogen, ethanol and biodiesel, by far EV is the easiest.
If youâre interested hereâs what it would entitleâ¦

- The engine compartment is first cleaned out of any gasoline components.
- Electric components are then installed in exchange.
- A battery bank is built and incorporated.
- Existing starter and driving systems are connected.
- Turn the key, step on the gas pedal sending more energy to the electric motor, & thus more power to the drive system, which in return creates more speed, more acceleration.
- The system has normal automotive top speeds and acceleration, typical to the vehicle your modifying. If your top speed was 85 mph and your acceleration was 1 mile per min, then this will be what your left with after the conversion.

The methods are extremely simple, making the process possible for anyone, everyone, ANYWHERE.

Typical tools, hardware & supplies are used, making access to parts available for all.

Electric Conversions can be easily accomplished in ANY model vehicle, even tractors, Generators, types of machinery, etc.

Project lengths range from 1 day to 1 month.
If youâre interested I wrote a guide on it which is available at http://www.agua-luna.com/guides.html

Hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if youâd like assistance in making your first self sufficient steps, Iâm willing to walk you step by step threw the process. Iâve written several how-to DIY guides available at http://www.agua-luna.com on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others help the environment.

Im a sinlge mother and my bills are more than my income. I seriously have to choose between food or car insurance. i cant take the bus to work the schedule doesnt work out....Im scared Im going to get pulled over. What do I do?
If I dont drive, I dont work, and my daughter and I will be homeless.
I cant beleive you people who have good jobs and education look at the world of poverty thru rose colored glasses. you sit up on your pedastool and judge someones situation without knowing the limitations im dealing with. I cannot take the bus to my job. To get there on time, it would take me 2 hours and 3 transfers and in order to do that I would have to leave at 5am and the busses dont run that early. A bike is not an option, its to far. cant get a scooter, I can afford it. My car is all I got and its only worth about 300 dollars. If I lose this job I will have my girl on the streets. I have to get to work! and no co workers will drive me.
So if I decide not to drive, I lose the job and then I will get judged for being on welfare.
Are there any 'po people I can talk to?

Answer
easy answer... don't drive

Picture this as a real likely scenario:

1) You are involved in or cause an accident in which you are to blame. Maybe a minor injury or two

2) The PD will tow your car - even it it is driveable since it has no insurance and you can not drive it. , the DMV jerks your license for no insurance.

Ok so much for the GOOD news.

You are responsible for the repair to the car you hit. Figure a modest $5 to $6k unless you hit a new car where even the wheels may cost $1 each. Eventually they will sue you for the bill and your check will be garnished. Now it is up to 50% less (net).

but wait .. there's more.

Remember that injury? Hospital stays are around $300/day PLUS the treatment. Figure a minor broken bone or two is going to cost around $10k.... guess who is paying.

and now lets get to the Pain and Suffering (not yours... theirs) an easy $10k maybe a LOT more).

Its going to be a looooong time before you see a full paycheck. If you buy a car, (let alone a house) it will be seized and sold to apply to the debt.

You think you are scared of being pulled over... dwell on this scenario for a bit and you will see that is the least of your worries.

Concerned.. ? This is not an extreme picture. In fact it is pretty realistic as others answering your question will likely echo.

Bottom line..

Take a bike, walk to work, get a motor scooter (which has cheaper insurance) find a co-worker or a ride share and save up the money to buy the insurance. There are a LOT of alternate transportation methods... not as convenient as a car but they ARE there... you are just choosing not to use them for one reason or another.

What happens to the cars that are buried in the snow?

Dan

Just out of curiosity, when cars get snowed in up to their roof, what happens to them? Do they count as a flood vehicle? I was just looking through some of the news headlines on Yahoo and saw a picture of a car buried in snow which made me wonder.
Well Matt why do YOU get a life? You coulda saved your self a whole minute and not put a sarcastic and dumba** answer! You obviously have no life...I pity you.

Did that make you feel better? Huh? Geez.

Answer
No, the snow is frozen, so it doesn't get into the car, and it melts slowly, when it does melt.

The snow would have to melt all at once, like it a couple of seconds and create a flood, which it can't do.
