Is there any truly free website that will allow me free car owner's manual?I have just bought used 94 Toyota corolla without owner's manual and I need to keep a owner's manual book for me just incase I need to check something?

Answer
Unfortunately, the Corolla isn't available yet as an iGuide from Toyota:
http://www.toyotaiguide.com/

and your model year is too old for the Pocket Reference Guide (condensed manual), which is for 2005 or newer:

You could always try eBay or some of the online paper manual traders to try and find an owner's manual on the cheap. You may also want to try calling some auto dismantlers/wrecking yards to see if they have one, as well.

If you want to order a paper one from your dealer or through the Toyota Materials Distribution Center, you can get prices (owner's manual is about $16) and part numbers and ordering info through:
http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/pubs.php

Or, if you have a decently fast internet connection, a credit card, and the patience to download lots of tiny PDF files, you can get a subscription to:
http://techinfo.toyota.com/ (US and maybe Canada, $10 for a day, other plans available)
http://techdoc.toyota-europe.com/ (Europe/UK and maybe Australia, 3euros for 1 hour, 16euros for a day, other plans available)
and download the Owner's Manual, and any other related information (Repair Manuals or Electrical Wiring Diagrams, New Car Features guides, Service Campaign & Recall & TSB info, etc.)

You may also want to try joining an online Toyota Corolla owner's forum, and asking for suggestions there. For example, the forums hosted at http://www.corolland.com/ Maybe you might get lucky and someone may have a spare to send to you, or a pointer to a recently wrecked one!

Good luck!

Anyone know how to search online to see if a safety recall has been made on a recently purchase used car?

My mom bought a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier and I did a Carfax report, and found that this particular car has 2 recall items. She doesn't have maintenance records. Anyone know if there is a search database out there that will tell me this? The dealer is useless. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Answer
The Carfax report is accurate, there are two safety recalls on your vehicle according to the NHTSA (National Transportation and Safety Administration), see them here, http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/results.cfm as far as those are concerned, Chevorlet (or authorized Chevrolet service center) should be willing to fix them at no charge.

As far as maintenance records and history of the car go, Carfax is as good as it gets. If you wanted to, you would have to track down which dealer first sold the car, where it went from there and who serviced it. Unfortunately there is no online service record keeping for cars.
