Need sources for a reasearch paper on cars?

race rainv

I'm writing a paper on cars. I'm going to be focusing on the late 60's through the late 70's. I'm looking for info on sales trends, performance ratings, actions by the government that regulated street cars, and info on the energy crises. Can't seem to find anything on performance or sales from those years on a site other than Wikipedia. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Answer
hope these help:

what 1960s or 1970s camaro had a six pack in it?

brandanrd

i can get this car for 1 grand the motor runs and that is a 350 or 402, it has a 6 pack in it. but transmition dont run and needs alot of new parts

does any one have any clue what year it is and should i buy it??
thank you guys i found what it was it is a yellow 1976 Camaro Type LT, but i cant get the title becuase the owner is died.so how can i get i title
Thanks

Answer
well the camaro started on 68 i believe or 67 whatever its close well the tranny is going to be real cheep to fix the tranny's in the early muscle cars if manual are easy to get running again for alot of them you can buy a complete kit and get it done. i know alot about that subject i graduated UTI's powertrain with an A. not sure on the engine or the year sorry i could help.

HERE IS SOME RANDOM INFO on your subject

even if you do buy it i would pull out that engine and sell it you need a real big block for that car, its what it deserves. sure you will get 3 miles to the gallon or maybe even five but its pure muscle in its best form for the camaro.

there my fav car and what im about to explain is my uncles camaro 69 ss.

1969 camaro ss
427 big block
dual quad intake (two four barrles)
bigger cam
performance pistons
runs 9.2 in a 1/4 mile
at 166 miles an hour
with no NOS or extra boosts

do it YANKO style and go for the big block 427's right out of the vettes then follow up with a rebuild of performanc parts and a new intake with the dual quads and you will se what it is to have muscle. also when finished it wieghs less then the corvette of the same year with the same modifications.

Is it possible to convert a gas car to electric?

Is it possible to convert a 1960s-1970s Combi van (more commonly known as a hippie van) to an electric car? and how much would it cost? Please only post if you know the answer. 10 points best answer. thanks.

Answer
Absolutly, I've converted several VW vans, bugs, etc.

My last EV conversion ran me about $1400. Everything is available online. I have a how to do it yourself guide available at www agua-luna com that will walk you step by step through the process. If you have ANY questions feel free to contact me through the site. Hereâs a list of what you'd need...

Advanced DC Motor
The motor is an 8" Advanced DC series-wound motor. It weighs 107 pounds and is rated at 68 peak horsepower. These motors are available in several sizes.

Adaptor plate
The adaptor plate mates the motor to the transmission. It is constructed of 1/2 inch aluminum and is pre-drilled with bolt hole patterns for both the motor and transmission. An aluminum spacer is also used for proper spacing between the shafts of the transmission and motor. Adaptor plates are available for many cars.

DC Motor Controller
The controller regulates current going to the motor. It is a solid-state device that uses a pulse width modulator (PWM) that sends short bursts of current to the motor at a rate of 15 kHz. Controllers are available from both Curtis and DCP.

Potbox (Potentiometer)
The potbox is a 5K ohm throttle between the controller and the accelerator, similar to the way a sewing machine pedal works. The potbox's lever arm is attached to the existing accelerator cable.

Main Contactor
An electric relay that serves the same purpose as the ignition switch in a gas car. When the key is turned to the start position, the contactor closes the circuit to allow current to flow to the controller.

Circuit Breaker
A safety device that shuts down power for servicing or during an emergency. The circuit breaker is installed under the hood and can be switched both off and on from the drivers seat with an extension or cable.

Main Fuse
The main fuse protect the system from high voltage spikes. A fuse should be installed at each battery box or group of batteries.

Shunt
A shunt is placed in series within the wiring as a means to connect meters. Shunts are available in different sizes for both high and low power configurations.

Charger interlock
A relay that keeps the circuit open so nobody will inadvertantly drive off with the charge cord plugged into the car.

DC/DC Converter
The DC/DC converter is similar in function to a gas car's alternator. It charges the 12 volt accessory battery by chopping voltage from the main battery pack down to 13.5 volts.

I currently own 2 converted h2 vehicles which run on 100% hydrogen and 1 EV (electric vehicle), not to mention our home is completely off the grid, using alternative energy (solar, wind, etc)

If you interested I offer several DIY alternative guides to walk you step by step threw EV conversion process at agua-luna com or

www agua-luna com
Hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if youâd like assistance in making your first self sufficient steps, Iâm willing to walk you step by step threw the process. Iâve written several how-to DIY guides available at www agua-luna com on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others help the environment.

Does a Chevy Impala comes with a convertible top?

Kristen H

This is for my main character's car in my novel. I couldn't find any info at the Chevy Impala website. If so, which models for 2006 or 2007?
I meant come not comes.

Answer
Only if he has one from the 1960s. And two door Impalas disappeared in the '70s. Any Impala from the current decade would be a four door sedan.

Good luck with your novel. You might want to check Preditors and Editors when you go look for a publisher or agent:
