Toyota has announced that they'll be offering for fleet sales (not retail/general public) a PHEV Prius in 2010.

Do be careful of reading any online speculative articles about future Prius. Usually they try and quote or translate from a Japanese publication, which would use the very generous Japanese fuel economy test cycles. Quite often, you'll then see UK gallons used, which are larger than American gallons, so the MPG will be reported much higher. The current Prius http://toyota.jp/prius/spec/spec/ on the Japanese 10-15 cycle is listed as 33.0 km/l (77.6 mpg, or 93.2 Imp. mpg), and on the JC08 cycle 29.6 km/l (69.6 mpg, or 83.6 Imp. mpg), but on the US EPA test cycles it gets 48mpg city and 45mpg highway.

Otherwise, Toyota hasn't announced any changes yet for 2009, let alone 2010, for the Toyota Prius.

Because of gas prices, demand outstrips supply for the Toyota Prius currently. There are waiting lists at most dealerships, or dealerships are charging an "availability surcharge" over MSRP to get one now. Used Prius are selling for close to or over new prices due to availability right now. Prius production is down right now due to a parts shortage. The Toyota Prius makes up about 1/2 of all the hybrids sold in the US right now, and as of the end of May 2008 is Toyota's 3rd best selling vehicle in the US.

Would I buy one now? Well, I'm still debating if I should sell my 2001 Prius, as I don't drive it much... When I moved (to where I walk or take public transportation everywhere), I sold my 2004 Prius because I barely need 1 car, let alone 2. The newer Prius is more versatile with the larger size and hatchback, but I much prefer having a sedan like my 2001 Prius, so if I lost my 2001 in an accident I don't know if I'd replace it with the current Prius or not. (I'd now look at the Honda Civic Hybrid, the Toyota Camry Hybrid, or the Nissan Altima Hybrid.) But in the current high-demand market, I would patiently sit on a waiting list for a Prius, and not pay more than MSRP.

What do you know about Carol Shepp and McCain's first marriage?

She's John McCain's first wife. I know she was a model. I know they got married in 1965. She had 2 children before they got married and then they had 1 child together. I know they were only married a year before John got shipped out on a combat assignment and they'd been married less than 2 years when he became a POW. She was in a car accident in 69 while John was still away. Then John came home in 73 and was in recovery for two years. Apparently this is when the marriage started falling apart. He was stationed away. Had some affairs. The couple separated. Met Cindy in 79. The divorce was final in 80.

What have I missed? Does anyone have a picture of Carol? I'm curious.

You've shared more than I knew. But I knew the settlement was amicable and that Carol supported his political aims. That's really all I cared about.

Sent a random letter out to a site that proclaimed they will listen to my problems and help me out. They did listen and they wrote back. It's nice, but it doesn't take these feelings away.

I want out. And the only reason I'm still here is because of Hell.

I always wish that it were me in the car accident on Highway 69, or the one on FOX news who got murdered, or even the one who died of cancer. Those people want to live, I don't. Let me have their way out.

I can't go on. I know I'm only 21 and I've heard many times that life will get better. But it hasn't since I was 13. It got worse.

I love my friends and family and they're the second reason I haven't done it yet. I don't want them to hate me for doing this selfish thing. They just wouldn't understand.

I've searched and searched trying to find the answers. The easiest way. The quickest way. The smart way. How to do it. Where to do it. Should I leave a note behind?

But something keeps me holding on when all I want to do is let go. Why?

Just hold on to what you love. You love your family. Hold on to them with all that you have. You would not be selfish for doing that, but i can tell that deep down there is something holding you back. Maybe you have a purpose that you haven't filled, something that hasn't been lived. There is always hope, even in the deep crevices of sorrow. I know i don't have much room to talk, and I am sorry if i sound like some lame teen who has no idea what she is talking about...I have suffered from a mild version of what you are going through for awhile now. And honestly the only thing that has halfway pulled me out of it is my faith. Faith in God. But it doesn't have to be a spiritual thing. Just faith in anything...future love and relationships, just even something little like a future smile. Maybe talk to someone you can trust about your sadness...? i don't know.
