Answer
Blogging news stories as they unfold is one of the most
exciting and controversial applications of technology
that bloggers have discovered. One thing that makes the
blogosphere so active is the fact that it is possible to
update a blog instantaneously, so the news on blogs
tends to be more current than the news in the paper, or
on television. Unlike news delivered by these other
media, news that appears on blogs does not have to
travel through a series of editors and administrators
before it reaches the public eye. This has some
advantages, and some distinct disadvantages.
One of the most notable cases of news hitting a blog
before appearing in other media took place in July 2005
when terrorism struck London. As passengers were
evacuated from a subway car near an explosion, one
man took several photographs of the scene with his
cellular phone, and within an hour these images were
posted online. First-person accounts of the catastrophe
began appearing on blogs soon after these photos
appeared, and people all over the world learned about
the events in London by reading the words and seeing
the photos posted by bloggers.
The fact that these stories and images were being spread
directly by individuals operating without the added
filter of a reporter helped to make the crisis feel very
immediate to people across the globe. When it comes to
blogging, news often appears in a very personal context.
This has the potential to be the beginning of an exciting
new era of reporting, one that takes "New Journalism"
to it's logical next step by putting the power to shape
how the news is written and read directly into the hands
of the public.
Many bloggers and cultural commentators who are
champions of the weblog movement feel that this
growing trend of individuals who getting their news
from blogs is a good thing, because it makes the flow of
information more democratic. By decentralizing the
control of news, blogs allow more voices to enter the
field of debate about important current events.
However, many people are adamantly opposed to the
use of blogs as news outlets, and there are plenty of
good arguments on this side of the debate. Unlike
newspapers or television stations, few blogs have fact-
checkers, and there is little attention paid to journalistic
accountability on many blogs. This can lead to the rapid
spread of misinformation, and more than one falsehood
has taken the blogosphere by storm. The questions
about whether blogging news as it happens is ethical or
not are very complicated, but no matter where you stand
on the topic of current events blogs you are almost sure
to agree that this movement has the potential to
revolutionize how modern people get their news.

What do you think about the 911 conspiracy theory and where do you get your facts?

Q. Please I just want to know why people say these things. I lost a real good friend on 911 as any one who knows me knows.
I believe in America and do not think she would ever ever do what was suggested by the 911 conspiracy theorist who hold on to that notion, I want to know why any one would believe this stuff and where did you get your facts.
Thanks
Not that it matters I am a Canadian to correct one person's answer, I am still an Americian though, I just happen to live in Canada.

Answer
911 conspiracy theory is full of holes too although those internet films can be quite compelling. There are just too much 'cherry picking' of facts, interview excerpts... etc. Here's some example how they twist facts to create dramatic 911 stories.

Some bloggers and 911 theorists say hijackers are found alive and links to BBC article titled âHijack 'suspects' alive and well.â What they donât say is that this BBC article is about confusion over hijackersâ true identities. It appears hijackers may have assumed someone else's IDs. Criminals using false IDs? Hard to believe? BBC article ends by saying âFBI Director Robert Mueller acknowledged on Thursday that the identity of several of the suicide hijackers is in doubt.â Thatâs why the title put quotation mark around âsuspectsâ when it says âsuspects alive and well.â

You can read this BBC entire article here http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/1559151.stm
Youâll notice in the middle of this BBC article titled âHijack 'suspects' alive and wellâ it also says in bold face âMistaken Identity.â Conspiracy gurus never even finished the entire article it appears and have reading comprehension of sixth grader. This article is used to claim that hijackers are made up/fake people in this âconspiracy.â Yes, itâs sad. Please read the entire article and learn something called CONTEXT. They took this article about mistaken identities and turned it into 911 'mystery.'

Twin towers never fell at free fall speed as Professor Jones claims. He makes eye ball estimate and do not make actual measurements. Several have made calculations showing the towers fell close to free fall because of massive kinetic energy, but frame by frame calculation shows it does not fall at âfree fallâ speed. You can actually see some debris falling faster than building is collapsing in some footages. Usually demolition takes almost month of gutting and preparation for much smaller buildings. Twin towers were not taken down with bombs as claim by some. http://www.debunking911.com

Building 7 had a giant hole stretching over 10 floors and its picture exists, but conspiracy theorists probably don't want you to see since it dampens their 'demolition' theory. See the photo here. http://www.debunking911.com/pull.htm Conspiracy theorists do not discuss this massive structural damage, but talk about âpullâ quote that is very vague and arbitrary. Why would Silverstein, who is not familiar with demolition at all, use demolition slang to admit something so odd on national TV? That doesnât make sense.

911 conspiracy theory claim Rumsfeld said flight 93 was shot down. On 9-11-01 it is Cheney who mistakenly believes 2 planes were shot down by Airforce during the attacks. Cheney have ordered to take down any hijacked planes that may be heading for a target after WTC was hit. Rumsfeld tells Cheney he knows one plane is down, but canât confirm who brought down the plane (flight 93). This episode was explained in PBSâs Frontline: Dark Side. They had obtained actual transcript of their conversation. You can see this transcript here http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/darkside/view/ Cheney/Rumsfeld conversation is shown in âpart oneâ at beginning of documentary. Lot of stories about gov shooting down flight 93, missile theories...etc seem to have originated from this.

Rumsfeld was in Pentagon when it was hit and helped rescue crew whic
