Chinese VS. Indian cars?

Partial Di

I am biased towards Indian cars.cause I am Indian, but I think they are better.

Why?

Because they have better crash safety, even the tiny Tata Nano is better than a Chinese coupe or smalls sedan in terms of front and rear impact.

Indian cars usualyl have more powerful power plants.

More reliability, if you know Mahindra and TATA, they will go on forever.

They actually have nice diesel engines, and have better engine tech because they have bought many "powerful" western engine making companies and have ventures with Japanese companies like Honda and Suzuki.

Interior of Indian cars is......bad, worse than Chinese cars. But, other than that, I see no other faults.

But what do you guys think?

(Please no uneducated folk who think of India as a cow herding country just because it hasn't been in the news as much as China; stop looking at info from the 70's or 80's.)

Answer
Chinese cars suck, which is why GM is taking over the market in China.
Indian cars not equipped with the appropriate features for the American market. Not only that, since India likes to hope on the train with the best opportunities, like the relationship between India and Russia during the Cold War, even with the appropriate modifications you'll not going to see those cars in the USA.

Even if such vehicles are allowed inside, I really doubt they would sale. Ask KIA how hard it was to get into the American market versus Japanese vehicles, European vehicles, Ford, GM, Daimwhatever, etc. Shoot, why do you not ask an more harder question like this.
Hell, Indian cars will not even sale in California which has an extremely strong car culture, possibly the most out of all the States. Car sales here are the highest in the USA and there's no adequate public transportation in So.Cal. Taxis are hell a lot expensive compared to NY. The MetroLink train that runs on very specific and few "Lines" charges 56.2 cents a mile. =/ It takes me over 15 dollars from Fontana to LA Union Station. It takes me less than 3 dollars to drive there on the 210, safer and faster as well, That shows you how much car industry's lobbyist hinder Public Transportation efforts.

Also, many States are adapting much of Californian emission laws which are the toughest in the USA.

Which car is better, Indian or Brazilian.

Also, diesel engines will not sale well in the USA because it's very inconvenient. Take Peugot, or w/e it's called, they did not survive the American market.

Here are some reasons for the car diesel disadvantages.

1-Diesel engines are dirty and do not meet Federal standards, let alone many States because of all the MPG legislation and stronger emission rates in the US.
2-I only see diesel pumps in very random and few places here in So.Cal.
3- Diesel is more expensive than 87 octane here in So.Cal
4-Diesel engines will have to be nerfed in power and torque to be fuel efficient and better emissions.
5-Diesel technology is expensive, therefore diesel engines are also. I read this article in Car and Drive about reintroducing diesel engines to the American market. The specs for the vehicle were weak and the cost high. =(

Also, you see our big rigs use diesel and also a very few amount of big cab trucks because diesel gives more torque than power. The major problem about these "work horses" is because.....

Department of Motor Vehicles charge more money because it's a work-vehicle if powered by diesel and it's a truck, in California the registration is higher regardless if it's diesel or not so long the truck is listed as work-vehicle. =(

Conclusion.

Though Indian vehicles are better than Chinese, it'l never survive the Western market for long without a lot of costly changes, even if India's economy has "cheaper" labor than USA the American car buyers still will not purchase the car if not assembled in USA and will never buy a Chinese car. LMFAO. Do you see the products they make? They hardly last long and just bad. That's just another story.

Sorry for long story but to compare to countries products than you'll have to compare them to the leading country's industry before assessing. By comparison, India vehicles are better constructed, less pollutant, a bit better mileage, but will all become obsolete soon and big waste for designing diesel engines since they'll never be efficient. =(
