Answer
Go to http://gta4.tv/ they keep up to what's going on with the game. Basically I know that there's new cars with good suspension physics, the guns are about the same average guns but of course animated better, and I thinl you can play online but I'm not sure. The graphics are awsome, the environment is awsome, the characters and AI pedestrians act and react realistically with this new Naturalmotion engine- http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/847/847536p1.html

Also check out some other previews (A bit of reading though) - http://ps3.ign.com/objects/793/793799.html

Well what's the angle? Why do you need to think of a game? Is there a project that must be done? Are you to try playing a game, discussing games, or inventing a new game of your own? Let me just try to cover all the bases:

Positive Topics about video games include: How gaming has changed and advanced (like online multiplayer). Or positive things gained from playing games like teamwork, critical thinking skills, reaction time, logic, and problem-solving skills. (Zoo Tycoon was a recently released, friendly, video game, or games like "sims" and racing games, or more educational games like "Brain Age" and sesame streets Kinect games.

Negative Topics include Violence and psychological issues: Is gaming addicting or bad? (World of Warcraft is called addictive and has many news stories like about couples breaking up because it consumes peoples lives) ...What about Children playing adult oriented games, (some people feel violence in games is tolerable if it is human vs monster and not human vs human.

Some controversial games: Grand Theft Auto (has strip clubs and crime and drugs), Gears of War (major gore), Call of Duty (humans killing other humans/glorifying war)

The video game Hitman was made into a movie, and features a controversial element of the fact that girls disguised as "sexy nuns" were used in the recent story and that offended some people.

If you are in charge of inventing a new game, consider what Angry Birds does: A simple arcade style (side-scroller) but the birds don't have wings anymore (maybe that's why they are angry =P ) So you could take another simple game concept (pinball, tetris, tower defense, aliens, mutants, zombies, demolition derby) or combine 2 together (like how "zombie driver" arcade game is a zombie killer game but you drive a demolition car around with weapons all "twisted metal" style) ...but attach some new character like your favorite animal but with one changed major feature of it, Like a cat with moose antlers. You can be quite silly and be majorly successful... look at super Mario brothers: Plumbers rescuing a princess from turtles and dragons, eating mushrooms and wearing beaver hats.

Or if you want to be a little more serious consider games like "Too Human" which is based off of mythology. Or "Dynasty Warriors" & "Samurai Warriors" portray the history of ancient china. (Creating an action/adventure game that turns learning history and culture into a fun experience)
So you can create a main character (like a scientist, going on dangerous missions) and use the story to promote some learning aspect (don't think much has covered native american culture yet)
