Can you identify this 1950's pedal car?

sleazyp

Cleaning out the garage and could use some more info on this car. I do not know for a fact that it is from the 50's and I saw no distinguishing marks.

It looks like a Fire Chief Pedal Car, but its really hard to tell from the pictures. It looks like someone repainted it as it doesn't have the decals. The racks on either side at the back don't look right for the Fire Chiefs pedal cars and almost look like someone took a normal pedal car and tried to make it look like the fire chiefs pedal car.

It looks like a T-Bird pedal car someone modified and painted to be truthful, but I could be wrong.

Probably 1960's vintage given what I see on the front (grille and headlights) and you might get $50.00 for it from the right collector.

does anybody have an old 1950's car ?? I do looking to give and recieve advice?

Answer
There are a lot of 1950's cars out there waiting for restoration. If you get one pre-restoration, you'll find that there are some available at very reasonable prices.

Here are two good sites. You'll see that they cover the whole price range from cheap to "more than any sane person would spend."

1) http://ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com/...

2) http://www.buyclassiccars.com/ (good forums, good info about how to avoid eBay ripoffs)

If you are not in a rush, I would also follow cars for your area on craigslist.com. Since it is just a car selling site and doesn't specialize is expensive classics, many unrestored classics get sold inexpensively. But you may have to watch the site every day for a couple of weeks. There are a lot of opportunities out there if you are willing to settle for a driveable used car that hasn't yet been restored.

Good luck with this! I hope that you have a very exciting search.
