What does L Reg mean?

Sempeho

i want to nuy a used car from the UK but someone is telling me not to buy an L reg vehicle, can someone advise on this

Answer
'L' is the letter at the start of the registration plate. it indicates what year the car was registered.

more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_car_number_plates

'sir...' is not exaclty correct. if the letter 'L' comes at the start of the plate, it was registered in 93. if it is at the end of the plate, he is correct. but i highly doubt it.
