The "People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD)" in Thailand has captured the main airports and prevented people from travelling to, or via Thailand. They seem to want the prime minister to resign, and also to change Thai democracy so that only rich and privileged people can vote.
But why did they choose the airport in particular? Do they want visitors to stop coming?
In reply to "no protestor on runway, they can easily allow flights to [come and] leave". I don't think is true at all, they have barricaded the roads with trucks and military barbed wire to stop people coming. They have seized police officers and beaten people.
From the outside they look like a terrorist organisation that uses "vote buying in poor rural areas" as excute to ignore the respected one-man-one-vote system. If there's a vote problem fix it! Don't kill your economy and make the world think you use terrorists tactics...
My grandma has cancer and I can't take my last-minute flight (UK -> Aus) to see her, because it Thai airways (BKK) :( If she's dead when I get there I will never visit "Amazing Thailand" or the "Land of Smiles" again

1. why close airport, who close the airport?
the protester said for more than a week telling that they are going to airport on that day, but government did nothing, no talk, not police road block, and let it all happen.
even on the first day, they took hours to move in to the airport outside of bangkok, but in the airport, things went on like not thing was going to happen, and when the protester there. the goverment shut down the airport. it was no protester on the runway.(even now). no protester in the immigration area. they can easily let all the flight leave the country.
it is just like all the crash we have seen over the year. everyone can read a newspaper will know what will happen in when, but government don't?!!! let thing happen and point the finger... it is the same dirty trick thais have seen for many many year.
2. why you are so IGNORANCE saying that

now their are 2 groups
"a group that want to see thailand develop with out corruption"

"a group that thing corruption is the way to develop thailand" (i am not kidding, they think that they said that out loud. )
the first group currently wearing yellow and close the air port right now asking and seeking for a way to reduce corruption in the country. they see that thailand have never had real democracy since every election majority of people in the north willing to sell there vote
the second group currently wearing red, and benefit from this dirty corruption money, they are asking to get the master of corruption, thaksin back to power.
so this 2 groups made it clear they will not walk the same path.
the people say that thailand had democracy, one person one vote, bkk people are wealthy, poor rural are support current gov.. they are ignorance.

-the southern rural, which more than 3000 of them has been kill resulted from thaksin miss-taken policy, also poor and need help. they also say no to this government.
-a lot of poor people in bangkok who work day to night living in a small apartment, no big house no farming land also say no to this gov
-a PM from a democratic state can not remove any law enforcement and take over any news media who try to investigate any of his and his family wrong doing as thai PM, taksin had done.
-northern and northeast rural are not poor if you see their house, car, farm, the way they spend money.
Have you ever heard that some thai parent sell their child for money? Do you know where this parent came from? Somebody say north? Then thing why they do that for money when they got their own land and farm?
Why farmer in the south has never had a record of doing that?
Thaksin put a lot of money into that area (but not education) because he know the nature of this people, and big part of the money he put here were taxes from the hardworking people in another place. it is no wonder why people in the north and northeast love him, but people in the other place hated him.

movie directing in thailand?

Hello im really interested in making small funny cool movies im not talking about huge explosions and expensive car crashes.
Im wondering what does it cost to direct movies in thailand you know, like a crew of 10 people that knows how to act maybe not as good as a star but lil better than decently and camera man who knows who to take perfect video and sound effect guy and all that stuff you know and a scene where we can destroy a table or two you know. how much would something like this cost in thailand? maybe give me link also to website?

Are you sure you're not into blue film? You sound like one.
Being froeign persons, you will need to ask for permission to film in Thailand through the Information department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, otherwise you will be arrested and your equipments confisticated (and this is not a scam like in the airport).
Otherwise, there's a lot of productions house in Thailand and they are not cheap. The larger ones named Kantana. I happen to know a bit about this business, and please movie don't use Video. News crews do. Kanata will provide you with all you need. The average cost of production in Thailand is approx. 5000 baht per minute (this is about ten years ago and with Video Betamax: my knowledge is a bit outdated. They may be using harddisk for video these days. Movie uses film which is much more expensive than that).
