MISS MANNE

I mean you could practically buff the car with that thing.

Answer
we all know that the real problem is that you outfitted your stihl brand vibrator with a toothbrush to save on batteries... you cannot return it to the manufacturer and get a refund because you voided the warranty upon applying the duct tape...

the good news, however, is that it'll still make your chocolate milk quicker than you can manually stir it...

What kind of sentence will a 17 year old girl get for wreckless driving?

Sarah M

There were 5 people in the car, the driver (the 17 year old girl) was injured, and a 17 year old in the backseat was killed. Another teen was left with brain damage. What kind of sentence will she get? Will she be charged as an adult? What will happen to her?

Answer
Oh my Lord...

God be with the families of all involved.

What a tragedy. Teens just do not grasp the risks involved with operating a motor vehicle. It's something I have attempted to drill into my 16-year-old driving step son.

Aside for carrying that event for the rest of her life, which may be far worse than anything the system will throw at her, the legal penalties are going to be based on a great many factors...

What other laws were violated? For example, in some states, she had too many passengers for a 17-year old driver. You said reckless operation. Was speed the only factor? Those kinds of things.

Best case scenario (from her perspective)... involuntary vehicular manslaughter, 30-60 days in a juvenile institution, suspension of license and probation for a few years combined with hours and hours of community service, including a mandate to share the experience at schools with other teens. And probably about $500-$1000 in fines.

Worst case scenario - Reckless homicide, charged as adult, 10-years in prison, fines and court costs.

My links are JUST EXAMPLES and are meant for reference only and not to imply anything. Like I said, a great deal depends on all extenuating circumstances, the judge, and if she's tried as an adult. I do not know the details, where you are from, or your relationship to the parties involved.
