I'm proposing 1 week before christmas. that's when she flies up from school in FL. i live in michigan. what are some good ideas? what are your stories?

Answer
Need more info on you two..!! Maybe you should post it here and say you need some help with answering a question..and show her LOL!

Are you meeting her at the airport? There might be an opportunity then, or she might just be very tired.

If you guys do karaoke or something at a bar you could sing it to her..

You must be fairly sure she'll say yes (i.e. talked about it already).. so you could take another leap of faith and do it infront of other people like at the theatre..?
maybe take her somewhere- just say youre going somewhere special.. and maybe take her to the place you want to get married (say her local church, or a reception venue..).. just stand and look, and when she says 'what are we doing here?'.. you say' i'm just scoping out venues for a wedding. What do you think about it?' and when she says 'oh yeh its a pretty building' you can say' no I meant about getting married.*get down on one knee.' and that is your cue to elaborate..

Or If she isnt staying in your room, you could write a message on the ground outside her window...

Or set the ring in a model train or car or something.. or a boat (although it wouldnt be good if the boat capsized!!

A quick search on michigan shows you have 90 native species of Trees.. Is there a tree museum or something? Take her there.. Or to some really really boring museum..she might get a bit hacked off but it would make an interesting story.. after you propose.

You could follow her and tell her she dropped something.. when she turns round you have bent down and presented her with a ring.

Or tll her there is a bear on the loose/next doors kid has escaped..some random story so that she goes into the (safe) forest/ark to look, her mind will be on finding the missing kid (whatever, so the proposal will be out of the blue.

You could do a Treasure hunt.. this will take a lot of planning, but basically make up and print out a sheet of clues. Attach it to some charity, with a prize to be won (just say Big Prizes to be won or something).. then you have to follow the clues on foot round the town..? and at each place there is a letter and a number. Obviously the letters are out of order... so once you guys have all the letter (obviously you play along so she thinks you are a team..) then you have to order the letters with the numbers.. and it spells out.. something like "will you marry me?".. or maybe just another location..

One of the most romantic proposals i remember was off ER when Ant proposed to Dr Corday.. he hid the ring in the ice machine of the fridge in a house he was showing her (for thm).. and he said 'Will you do me the honour of letting me be your husband?"

I also liked Friends where Chandler told Monica he didnt ever want ot get married, so she got worried. He intended to ask her, he was just winding her up, only she nearly finished it with him.. sort of back fired, but all worked out ok in the end.

Have you asked her parents permission..?

Good luck, I hopr you find your perfect moment, and that everything goes amazingly.
If you grew up in the same town then you must have lots of memoies/special places..

Where is my coolant leaking out of?

Alison

Background info: This is a 2002 Saturn SC2, 4-cylinder engine, with about 150k miles on it. It has had no mechanical issues in the time that my mother or I owned it, from 2003-2012, requiring only routine maintenance, and body work once after a collision with a deer, over two years ago now, after which it had no mechanical issues.

My sister has it now, and she is, for lack of a nicer word, a total dumbass. About a week ago, she came to work and told me that a light in her car came on and described it, and I told her it was her low-coolant light. She HAS THE DAMN MANUAL and checked in there and confirmed this. She said it had not overheated nor even gotten higher on the temperature gauge than usual. A few days later, we were going about 12 miles outside of town in her car and she mentions that she still hasn't filled it. I grab the coolant out of MY trunk (same kind we've always used in her car) and top it off. On the ride, I did not smell any antifreeze.

A few more days later, she tells me that the light is still on and the reservoir is empty. In this car, you cannot access the radiator directly (at least, I can't), so we filled the reservoir and started the car until it stopped sucking everything out of the tank. At one point, she spilled about a cup over the edge of the tank. I had her back up so I could see if she was leaking and there was about a 4-ounce puddle where she'd been. I had her leave her car there for a minute and back up some more, and there was a new, slightly-smaller puddle. I crawled under her car and coolant was gathering and dripping off of what I assume to be part of the frame. It was a flat piece of metal, not a drip-pan, with no openings and it was cool to the touch. It was below (on the bottom of the car) and about 6 inches behind the coolant tank. However, we started her car several more times over the day and the coolant level decreased only slightly, and was still full in the tank.

This morning, she has arrived to work and told me that the tank is again empty. Can you tell me where it is leaking out of? If you know right away, could you tell me what the repair will cost? This has been a great car, and if SOMEONE keeps up on the maintenance, I am sure it will keep running for several more years and I would not hesitate to put a $300-500 repair into it. I would appreciate it if only people with some kind of mechanical knowledge--more than that of this 22-year-old girl--answer, as answers such as "could be a bunch of stuff," and "I don't know, take it to a mechanic," are just frankly going to hack me off.

Answer
Hi! Your most likely answer is (and you're not going to like this) that given the age of the car, and the miles on it; your water pump. Other candidates for problems could be a leaking hose, assuming they have never been replaced, and the fact that some front-end damage has occured in the past. The worst case scenario is a warped cylinder head, or blown head gasket allowing coolant to enter the cylinders. Saturns had a problem with warping heads for a while and were known for it. Any of this can usually be corrected by a good repair shop, unless the warped head is too far gone. Find one you trust, and ask them to run a coolant trace if the leakage cannot be readily seen.
