I've got to choose a new business car and have a select list. I've tried Parkers website but they don't have the technical data anymore, only reviews and interior/exterior info. I need full engine specs and details such as 0-60, fuel consumption, co2 emissions etc.

Answer
Manufacturers and Dealerships go through alot of trouble to make these little pamphlets that give you all of that information. They are even available online at no cost to you.. But I can't remember what they are called... They keep 'em all over the showroom at your local dealer...

That's right, product brochures!!!

Or just go to the website of the manufacturer of the auto you prefer...

For a car to go fast whats more important?

Just to understand better - A hummer is packed with around 300hp and g35 with around the same hp. Of course the weight and body structure plays a big role.BUT What i wanna know is that Does the level of HP really play a big role for a car to go fast? Explain please . . .

Answer
Hummer H2 engine hp specs : Available Engines:
325-hp, 6.0-liter V-8

Final gear ratio: 4.10

fuel capacity: 32 gal

curb wieght: 6400 lbs

G35 specs:

Available Engines:
280-hp, 3.5-liter V-6
298-hp, 3.5-liter V-6

final gear ratio : 3.54

fuel capacity : 20 gal

curb weight : 3,524

What to do with this info??

Lets break it down -

H2 Hummer has about 27 more hp than the G35 - these are 2006 specs.

The gear ratios means how many turns the axle makes from one turn of the drive shaft - so the Hummer with 4.10 gears will have the quicker traction.

But the biggest factor is the wieght - The Hummer weighs almost twice as much as the G35, so in other words the 27 hp is not going to matter to a hill of beans. The Hummer would have to have about 600+ hp to keep up with the G35. Not to mention the Hummer with a full take of gas will be carrying about 72 more lbs in fuel. Fuel weighs about 6lbs per gallon *.

In other words if the 2 autos drag raced it would be no contest.
