Who will be sponsoring the #8 car for the '09 season?

Q.

Answer
Rumors are that the #8 car could be parked and Almirola may be without a ride most of the season.

Let me add one thing. DEI tends to tell people things that are not true. They may say they have a sponsor ready to be announced but that doesn't necessarily mean that is the truth. Of course it's not called DEI now but then again Teresa is still part owner of the business formed by the DEI & Ganassi merger. She already had a contract with Martin Truex and supposedly there was a clause that stated Bass Pros would require that Martin Truex have two full-time teammates for the deal to stand. Currently, in addition to Truexâs fully sponsored team, the #41 car has a full Target sponsorship and the #42 has a partial sponsorship from Juicy Fruit. The #8 DEI car currently has no sponsor for 2009.

So the problem comes in that if they announce they don't have another full-time sponsor then Bass Pros can leave and take Truex and the sponsorship to another team and organization (which Ganassi and DEI doesn't need to happen). So they are not going to say "Hey ... We haven't found a sponsor yet" and take a chance on loosing another sponsor based on a technicality.. They will just say "We have one lined up" when in all likeliness they don't.
