The home I live in has a front door that was painted with car paint. It is chipping and looks horrible. I am wondering if it is possible to sand the door down and repaint the door with regular outdoor paint? Anyone have any experience/advice with this?
So another question: what would I use to sand it with?

Answer
yes it will work,Lowes has this new paint that is awsome and also priced reasonable, the name of it is ONE and it has been proven to be just as good if not better than Valspar.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Does anyone know how to fix deep chips in car paint?

I have some(lots) deep chips and cracking in my car paint. Does anyone know to fix them or a website that explains how to?

Answer
It may be cheaper to take it to an auto body shop and have it repainted. Macco usually have deals on painting cars from 299.00.
But if you are a hands on type.
You need to sand the area of the chips/scratches. Depending on how deep the chips are will depend on what type of sand paper you'll need. But you'll need to sand down the chips/scratches so its even with the rest of the area around the spot. You may need to use bondo, or spot puddy to fill in any scratches you made in the metal. Spray primer on the area. And then paint the area with color match paint. If the paint has CC after the color code then you would need to clear coat the paint after it dries.
Hope you have fun!
