My husband was given a trailer and it was in real bad condition but he was able to fix it up and he wants to sell it. The thing is, he wants the title for it and wants to know if it belongs to someone else or if it even belonged to that man. The VIN number on it is totally different from a cars number. How can I check it out????

Answer
The VIN will be stamped on the frame rail, usually on the driver side, just behind where it attaches to the trailer ball. There also should be a tag on the side of the camper, near the front, on the driver side, but if its been in the sun for a couple of years, they fade out.
Last place to check: sometimes, on some manufactures, there is a data tag that could be in a cabinet, or closet that could have this info.
Hope this helps.

How can I verify if the car I'm driving has insurance?

I do have the VIN# and car info, but there was no insurance papers in car. I also don't have a contact number on the car's owner

Answer
If no insurance card and you can't contact owner you can't verify if the car's insured. It's the drivers responsibility to ensure the car is insured. Get stopped and you will get cited for no proof of insurance. If the car isn't insured you'll lose your license when you appear in court. Have an accident and you could be paying the damages out of pocket.
